Another Life (2019)
Think Syfy show and you might not be too disappointed
If you're thinking that this show is going to be epic, then you'll be sorely disappointed. If you go into it knowing it's basically a glorified Syfy show, then you might actually like it. It's not the greatest show, and there is a lot that is bad.
Hummingbird (2013)
This is not a Jason Statham movie!!
If you're like me, when you see Jason Statham starring in a movie you immediately roll your eyes. You can picture the entire movie now: woman in distress, fast cars, lots of hand-to-hand combat, and nice clothes. I've seen nearly every Statham movie there is and they all sort of feel the same.
I saw him on the cover and past over this movie until finally one day stumbling across the trailer. After watching the trailer I had to see this movie, and boy was I wrong. This is definitely not your typical Jason Statham movie. Yes it has a lot of the same elements but Statham portrays a different type of character this time. Most of his movies the acting comes after the action, but this movie is first a drama and second an action flick.
He's got a quiet reserve in this movie, not the cocky arrogance you expect when you see him act. He really stole this movie from the very beginning and by the end I actually feel like I like him again - not since The Italian Job can I say that!
This is a must watch for anyone. I highly recommend.
Graceland (2013)
I only made it through 20 minutes
This show is terrible. Don't waste your time. It was so bad.
In just a few minutes there was so many clichés, the acting was sub-par, and the story has been done a million times. Also, I felt like the show was more about how hot the male actors were than the actual storyline. One character in particular I don't believe even owned a shirt. Then you have the cliché of partners being in a relationship (how boring), and then the new guy coming in to replace him (yeah that hasn't been done before), and then he has to get shown the ropes from the goof-ball (wait, have I seen this before?), and last but not least the leader of the group is going through some mental anguish that he has to overcome (c'mon now really?). The writing is so obvious it's not even funny.
I expect more from a USA show having become a fan of Monk, Psych, Burn Notice, but this show just falls flat. I normally give a new show a few episodes before I determine if I'm going to watch it any longer, but this one only lasted 20 minutes.
First show that I've ever given up on that quickly.
Please don't waste your time.
