The Irishman (2019)

almost perfect

THE IRISHMAN 2019 The best movie Martin ever made. Period.

Well, I tried to find all the reason not to watch this movie. You know, I saw him fall asleep during the Academy and thought how good can he make as an old man anyway.

And than there is this thing it's too long.

And than, the actors are all aged, and also Netflix made it and was not in the theater. Well I saw a lot of great movies by Netflix but when it comes to Bluckbuster kinda movies, I donno.

Even THE GODFATHER Trilogy all together cannot replace this movie. After watching this I thought.

It is a very rare case after watching a movie and made me keep thinking about it.

The Umbrellas Of Cherbourg(64), Green Fish (Lee Chang Dong 97), THE KILLER (John Woo 89), TIME OF THE GYPSIES(89), and of course TO TO LE HERO (91) and than some. But as you can see, all of the others were made back in 20th century. Only this one was included just now.

This one was so unique for me because of this one typical scene when Frank(De Nero) kills his old time buddy Hoffa (Pacino). Tha process, the excitement, the everything in his mind before actually doing it. Shall I do it? Shall I really have to do it? It's not like Michael Coleone's first killing from THE GODFATHER. This is a whole different situation. The one who ordered to kill Hoffa is almost the same as the one he has to kill love wise. But he had to do it.

Just like the movie THE GODFATHER, his only excuse was to save his family, he did that all the killing.

When the time came and he is about to die, I felt two things about life.

No matter how much money, power, friends you had, life is just so in vain.

Just don't do anything that you might regret.

Think about it. His daughter (Anna Paquin-Hoffa really loved her like his daughter) the only one who have guessed that he killed Hoffa never met him till her father dies.

What is right and wrong in life? How can you choose between two things? This will be the everlasting question in each and one of us's life until we die.

All the actors 10/10. Hail to the director and good luck with your next big big project finally who found the right producer to take care of the entire production.

The Man Standing Next (2020)

Totally Shocked

It's all about acting and Music and rhythem. Thriller movies are very dangerous to make cause 4/10 will be totally disaster. Well, after I watched this movie first thing came out from my mind is it's only Jan.26 and I've alreay seen the best movie released in 2020 period. You will probably say hey man, there is 11 more months to go. Nope. This is it. The movie is about Kim who assasninate the president Park which really happened in South Korea back in 1970s. Many people thaught the Kim is the bad guy and the President Park is the lendeng who made Korean a rich country now. But you know what? That is not exactly true. Afte being in that seat for 18 years, he was totallt corrupted. Someone had to kill him. He was a dictator which no one can touch like Kim Il Sung.

The last 20 minute was so intensed that I couldn't even lean my back on the chair. I had to watch with my back bent towrd the screen.

Not even one minute to feel boring. Great movie.

Little Women (2019)

Entertaining. 94 version? Cannot judge which one is better

Finally saw LITTLE WOMEN 2019. Didn't expected much cause I really liked 94 version by Gillian Armstrong with Winona Ryder , Gabriel Byrne , Trini Alvarado , Christian Bale and Susan Sarandon. Well, the casting was something that I cannot judge which one is better. Both are so so great. But Christian Bale 94, I liked better than Timothée Chalamet 2019 (Although he was good but didn't overcome THE Christian).

Two things really grabbed me.

1. The camera and light. The camera is keep moving even for the steady shots. They released the tripod and moved a little to adjust each actors even a small movement they make. They also use sunlight so beautifully like Pride and Prejudice. Aldo a couple of slow motions and mintage sequences are beautiful too.

2. The music. It is not like here I am listen like Hans Zimmer or Max Richter or even Cliff Martinez who would say even if the movie suck I am still here. Think that at least you've watched a great Music Video cause of my music. In this movie the music is there clearly and when it comes to really important moments, It really boost up the heart of audience. But it's more like supporting way. I felt it from the very beginning. Ok wow this guy knows OST!! Alexandre is more of a classic composer who made OST like The Danish Girl, The Tree of life, Julie & Julia and Philomena.

I cannot say this movie will win (was nominated for 6 Academy) a lot of awards from all around the world but it has beautiful beautiful acting ensenble and light, camera and music wise. Work of art.

Also the acting sometimes made my heart beat. Even the makeup is so great. Of course the director is also an actress so she knows how to deal with these stuff, right?

Last. The time. It goes back and forth from the past to present a couple of times but it was not confusing or breaking any concentration cause it was so nicely connected by editing and bridge music. (The cast y-oung and old -was the same too which didn't matter as well.) Something that was different with the 94 version.

It is an inspiring movie after all and I won't rest tonight to finish my humble feature writing for my next project.

Troubled Water (2008)

My heart just stopped I don't think it will ever beat again

The organ sound, the eyes of the man who seems to me a murderer of an innocent child, the mother of the boy who died. They all are pure magic.

I couldn't breath from start till the ending watching this movie. How can a movie be this perfect? Is it even real?

The man plays pipe organ, we see each of the moment twice. I thought that it was a brilliant choice. I practically died a little by this moments.

And the stream moving towards the end made my heart stopped.

I had to buy this movie. Searched and searched. Expensive dvd is only available. Wanted the HD quality but who cares anymore.

The Nun (2018)

Worst Horror this year

I love all the Conjuring, Annabelle series am a huge fan. After watching this movie I was crashed because I expected so much before watching. The result was hideous. Some moment I felt srared cause of the sound effect. But not in a good way. I was mocked. It was not a true horror. Just a cheap trick. No story build up nothing. Not even a pretty good main actress and the actor can save this movie. They were lovely but not lovely enough to make us feel what they felt. Charactor built up was also failure so. Bad bad example of bad direction safe way of showing the horror which makes this movie a huge failure.

How can i convince you not to watch?

This is so bad. If nothing new story to deliver dont make another spin off please. Spent two hours suffering from sleepiness.

The chractor development is zero. Althugh actors are charming itself enough, the director did not know how to cook.

The first 40 minutes were amazing. Beautiful, a bit cheesy but that was ok for me. The problem is when she commit suicide. I don't buy that at all. Possible but not doable. This is not just some 70s or 80s. No one kill themselves that easily. And the moment when she ws raped and says to her husband that if you want to walk away, I understand. I am not the one who I was used to be after being raped. What the hell is she talking about? She was raped against her will and she's saying that it's her fault? And the handsome husband think that she is too dirty to be with her anymore? This movie is just crap after that. I stopped watching after maybe 40 minutes. That's it.

I don't get it. Why so high score eveyone? This is just garbage. No built up storyline nothing. Also the main charactor has no charm at all. Not only because he was a comedy actor but also he didn't know how to appeal to the audience who he is or why we should love him. And second, his wife is also tastless to look at. I am not telling you that she should be beautiful. It was just miscasting. The lighteness of guards are also unforgivable. They don't seem real at all. I wanna just have my 2 hour back.

Woodlawn (2015)

Yes it's a christian movie. Yes somethimes it's uncomfortable when the guy is kinda preaching. But not in a really disgusting way. I liked the guy who preaches in this movie. He's got charactor, he's a very charming guy not because he's handsome or anything but he is something. You will feel the same. But it's still a foodball movie and plus about the black/white quarrel too. You will either accept the fact that it's about god as well or hate it and leave. I don't go to church but still I liked this movie. And probably I will purchase the bluray.

Triangle (2009)

I almost never write in IMDB cause sometimes they filters or even not post if the review doesn't meet their expectation. Maybe that has been changed now but still I tend not to write. But this movie makes me write. After or even during watching the movie I thought of Spanish film TIME CRIME. If I have a choice I rather watch that movie once more instead of watching this one. The movie is quite interesting until I see same thing happen again and again. For some reason that made me so angry. Maybe it's the main actress or the enviornment or even the fact that the situation is so similar to the movie TIME CRIME. Donno. But just made me so furious. I watched it till the end only because I wanted to finish it. Also I thought about Nolan's movie THE PRESTIGE too. If I have a choice I really want to erase the experience watching this movie.

The Girl Next Door (2007)

Afraid to watch again because so upset to do so

I bought the bluray for accident and wtched only once. Not brave enough to watch it again or throw it away. The director must be crazy to make this kind of movie. The movie itself was not that explicit but brutal than any other movies out there. There is no reason for this girl to be treated like this. No reason at all that makes this movie more scary. Her cousins and her aunt have absolutely no reason to rape her, torture her to death. They deserve to die at the end but their death will not return the main charactor's suffer, her life because she dies at some point before they all are caught. Again the director graduated the best art school in America with scholarship by happens to be a crazy guy to make this kind of mentally sick film. He never had another chance to make another feature because of this movie thanks for the people who can at least judge his taste. He deserves to be jobless. This is not a documenraty type it's more like SNUFF FILM and should have never been made.

Red Sparrow (2018)

Two not brave Laurence ruined the movie

A woman like Jenifer Laurence needs to be really brave to make this kind of old fashioned Spy movie cause honestly there is no new stuff in this kind of movie any more. Cold war is finished and there is no more spy game like this anymore. But she was not brave or really made up her mind to be the charactor this time. Why now making this kind of movie? But still if you wnat to make this kind of movie, there should be a new stuff to added such as 1-real suffering from spy school learning all kinds of brutal and 'sexually going too far training'. But all she've done was saying I am not a prostitute when she was forced to have sex for training. So we saw nothing that can sympathize her from training. She learning or suffered nothing from it. 2. Jennifer really didn't seduced the opposite males to make him fall into her when she was in the line of work. When she was seducing the CIA guy, she was not even half naked. She was wearing all of her clothes on and just robbing herself to him. That's all she've done. This is not seducing enough to make us feel something. Think about the movie like LUST and Caution. 3. torturing scenes should be really extreme which did not happened. Most of the torturing were all just not scary at all. We've seen much much scary tortures from other movies and these are just simply not working to make us feel wow it really is scared. IT was merly to show that they are torturing and that was not enough at all. I think the both actress and the director found the easy way to make this movie. Why even rated R making this kind of soft just bypassing incidents? To just make a TV rated movie? Jennifer thought that she is a great star and will still work for the audience just to show herself a little bit without really suffering to act that will really make the audience feel that she really felt things during acting. She just pretended to act in this movie. She was not really suffering or trying enough to make us feel something. Think of movies like LUST and Caution (mentioning this movie already twice right?) I am not crazy about watching extremes nudity or torturing shots. But this movie had nothing to really make us feel the charactor. No real breathtaking story or great acting or new experience. All of the members of this movie just wanted to get done with it. They really didn't worked hard enough to make it real. Simply aweful movie to watch.

Pure (2010)

Right Next To The Great Film La Pianiste or Even Better

First I tried to find this film because of the actress Alicia Vikander. She is one of the two actress I truly love. One is Mélanie Laurent and the other is Alicia Vikander. Alicia is a bit luckier so far then Melanie. She has been in great movies and is now more famous then Melanie. As watching this movie, I felt that this movie is more then just the debut movie of Alicia Vikander. It is a great film that should be released all over the world. I don't know why it was so hard for me to actually achieve this in my hand. It was so pain for me to take so long. The story is not that new. Alicia has some kind of mental problem and especially when it comes with her mother, she even hits her sometimes. I don't know what exactly what it is but there must be something going on with her mother before. She has a boyfriend and they live together and he seems to understands her well.But that was not enough for her. She needed something else. One day she heard the classsic music from a concert hall and she was just enchanted by it. At that spot, this woman approached her and she thought that Alicia was there for the interview for a front desk job. She tells her a little lies and she was hired. There she experienced listening to classic music. That opens her mind and soul. Not only that. There she also met the comducter, a middle aged man who had a family. He fond Alicia and gives her all kinds of books to read, makes jokes. They made love in the room inside the concert hall, even in the man's house during his wife was not at home. Alicia deeply was effected my the man. She even thought that he truly loved her. She even broke up with her boyfriend. That was the time the man said that I have a family and a job. I cannot risk them both. Our relationshio shouldn't go on. Alicia then becomes mad. He old habbit comes out from her inside. The conductor then tried to dump her by firing her. She lost her job. But she cannot help it and kept followed the conductor. When the conductor succeeded the concert, that day when Alicia comes back to the concert, the conductor says you are not my class, something like that. She was mad and pushes him from the window. She dies instantly. Even the unstable, mentally problem woman like her vomits seeing his deaths. Some time later, when everything was forgottened and she served for the institute and released, the woman who hired her from the concert hall, rehired and she is now working for the children for the concert for kids. At the very end, we see her happy face working for the concert again. The music is a powerful thing that can cure most anything.

When I was 14, I went out from home for 6 months without anything in my hand. There was only one thing which was a cassette player and two casettes. Two music are all I can hear. Being lonly and hungry, I listened to the song again and again till the battery is out. But during listenting, I had no worries. The music seemed everything to me at that time.

For her music saved her soul and her life.

There's an old saying if you have an art, that can make your life keep moving. If you don't have, then you need a religion. You will be so lucky if you have art in your life. Alicia in this movie is lucky and the music saved her life. She has nothing to be afraid of.

I hope you will find this movie from somewhere and be able to watch. The music are so great and make the movie even a better one. Alicia as always is so pretty and graceful. I cannot but to love her for 2 houres. I cannot believe that this was her firt movie.
