Suspenseful Fredianelli Thriller
3 September 2009
In his first film as actor, producer, composer, and director, Michael Fredianelli really jumps right in. As a big fan of action cinema, I give Fredianelli and A+ in all categories. You know he doesn't want to disappoint the viewer. Pale Blue Balloons was a movie I decided to watch because of an interesting title and cover. It had everything a great action movie needs. Since then, I've taken a liking to all of Fredianelli's films, and haven't been disappointed at all. Pale Blue Balloons is a movie *not* to be missed. Fredianelli and Kellen Kaiser have wonderful scenes together. Also a wonderful script written by Todd Jurgess. Great story, great cast, great action.

You know what? We need to stop.

This is the fifth and final installment to the successful "Death Wish" series. In my opinion, it's the poorest. You can still watch it and get entertained, but something is missing.

Let's recap: Kersey had lost his wife, daughter, one girlfriend, another girlfriend and her daughter...now his fiancée. I think Kersey should have stayed far away from the cities after Death Wish 3.

The good things about Death Wish V, Michael Parks plays a very convincing villain. Charles Bronson, at 73 years old, is also still convincing as Paul Kersey. And Terry Plumeri's musical score is very atmospheric and haunting.

The bad...how long does it take for Kersey to say "enough?" His life as never been the same since he went into action in the early seventies. If I was him, I'd be angry! Sometimes when I watch this movie, even though I still get a kick out of it, I ask myself "What made Chuck want to make this movie?" and "Who though they could get away with it?"

Death Wish V: The Face of Death is not a great vigilante film, let alone a great Death Wish sequel. However, it's a fun movie and Charles Bronson does kick major ass as usual. It ends well with Chuck walking away silhouetted by light saying "If you need any help, give me a call" as if he was saying good-bye to his fans.

The Day After (1983 TV Movie)

Absolutely Terrifying
23 April 2008
I wouldn't really call this a horror film. However, I have never gotten scared of a horror film. Only entertained by effects, acting...etc.

This film scared the hell out of me.

I saw this movie for the first time last night at the famous "attack" scene. I thought "Oh, hey. Jason Robards. This must be good." Then I saw the flash of light then the mushroom cloud rising. I immediately knew this film was about nuclear war. And, immediately, my mouth dropped. This film captures the Cold War and a nuclear holocaust just as my history teacher told me about. They sure don't make TV movies like this anymore.

Blue Money (1985 TV Movie)

Great Fun

They sure don't make TV movies like this anymore. You don't know how funny and talented Tim Curry is until you see this movie. There's action, comedy, great music, and one hell of a funny cast. BLUE MONEY was fantastic. Tim Curry as the charming & funny Larry and Debby Bishop as the sweet and lovable girlfriend, Pam. Tim Curry does everything from singing to doing impressions. I loved this movie, and luckily was able to find a copy on Amazon. I recently dug it out and enjoyed it again. It is a shame they don't make great movies like this for TV anymore. If you haven't seen this movie, check it out. You won't regret it. It's a Tim Curry fan must-see. It gets funnier every time I see it.

Midnight Run for Your Life (1994 TV Movie)

An entertaining movie! Where is the DVD?
26 January 2008
All of the fans of "Midnight Run" label this movie as extremely bad. Not at all. This movie has everything but the cursing.

Midnight Run for Your Life was fantastic.

Christopher McDonald plays Jack Walsh very well. Melora Walters is a perfect Lorna Bellstratten. The story for this movie is original and is very entertaining.

What I like most, is the more mellower Jack Walsh that McDonald brings and the more darker story line. There is less comedy.

Melora Walters character is always trying to kill herself and Christopher McDonald has to, in a way, jump in front of the bullet all the time.

Since there is no DVD, it will be difficult to find. I strongly suggest seeing it. It was a very good movie.

Midnight Runaround (1994 TV Movie)

Extremely watchable. Extremely underestimated.
22 December 2006
"Midnight Runaround" is the third installment of the MIDNIGHT RUN films, put together for TV to bring back bounty-hunter Jack Walsh. It was not as successful as the first film. Even writer George Gallo had to do with this movie, but it failed, lacking the buddy humor as in the first one.

This time, Christopher McDonald takes over Robert De Niro's Walsh. Now, it is quite difficult to follow in a great actor's footsteps, especially as good an actor as Robert De Niro, but, Christopher McDonald gives a very entertaining performance as Walsh, even though the movie trails off before the end. Christopher McDonald gives Walsh a completely new personality. He gets desperate and angry, but also he has self-confidence which gets him into trouble.

Instead of finding an accountant who embezzled $15 Million dollars, Walsh now has to pick up bail-jumper Dale Adder(Kyle Secor) who escapes L.A. for his home in Oklahoma. Walsh comes across the case and it's another Midnight Run. But, this case wasn't assigned to Walsh from bail bondsman Eddie Moscone(Dan Hedaya). Instead, Walsh gets into debt, and takes a job from a rival company. So, furious with a vengeance, Eddie sends Marvin Dorfler played by Ed O'Ross, to stop Walsh's gaining effort.

When Walsh reaches Oklahoma, he finds himself in another problem. The whole town is protecting Adder and suddenly becomes more funny and stupid than dangerous as they first seem. The characters and story are o-Kay for what they were. The tension between Walsh and Adder was whats missing from the script. That made the first movie become alive.

This film and the other MIDNIGHT RUN films "Another Midnight Run" and "Midnight Run for Your Life" were part of Universal TV's "Action Pack" movie package. They included over 20 made-for-TV movies.

You won't find much information about this movie or the others. If you do, I suggest watching them unless you are a die-hard fan of the original. The made-for-TV MIDNIGHT RUN movies that time forgot are COMPLETELY underrated and underestimated. Christopher McDonald gives Jack Walsh a great performance and is woth seeing. "Midnight Runaround" is a very good installment to the "Midnight Run" series.
