Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet: Juice Box (2021)
Season 2 gets better and better
Some of the reviews here have got it incredulously wrong so I decided to write my own.
Okay, this episode was absolutely amazing.
We had two episodes where most of the main cast weren't present and we had some expansion on C. W. Fantastic.
The transition between this episode was great. We finally see Rachel finding her purpose, and Dana hard at work with Grouchy Goat.
Poppy and Ian's egos continue to crash into each other and each of them suffer because of it.
We see Jo finding out that Zach doesn't care about her and instead, actually wants to incriminate her with a serious felony. David losing his purpose a little (and still hilariously trying to hold onto his wolf status).
Jesus christ. This episode has a lot going on but it ultimately worked. The cast was amazing as always and it carries the things we've learned in the past episodes into this one with seemingly little effort.
The endings in these episodes keep on being bittersweet but unlike Breaking Brad and Sign Here Please, there is actually hope in it. Poppy singing to Ian was a perfect was for the two to sort of make up.
Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet: Breaking Brad (2021)
Should be rated higher
I feel like this episode is clearly one of the best so far. We actually see much more depth into Brad as a character whilst in Season 1, he was mainly just the evil marketing guy.
Danny Pudi's acting is phenomenal and you can see every emotion the character is experiences through his micro expressions. You can see him slowly derailing as the episode progresses and he loses more and more control of his environment. I swear, get this man an Emmy. He clearly deserves it.
It is also refreshing to see an adult POC with eating disorders.
The B plot with Ian, Rachel, Poppy and Dana was also really interesting to see. It showed the contrast in Dana and Rachel and foreshadowed how their conflicting interests and ambitions might affect their relationship later on.
Overall, I feel like this episode deserves more praise. It may have contained fewer laughs than some other episodes but it managed to give us great backstory on one of the show's most intriguing characters. The story was wrapped nicely in the end and it left us with a burning wonder of how the character's dynamics will change from here on out.
