Enola Holmes 2 (2022)
I never knew that about James Moriarty
I will never understand why Hollywood feels the need to replace well known characters with opposite genders or races or whatever.
Why not create new characters and empower them to be whatever you want them to be?
It takes away any thing you try to gain by adding strong female character or minorities when they are just repurposed versions of male or white characters. It feels as if it was done in a patronizing way.
Just create new characters.
The movie itself was decent. And there was no need to make Moriarty anyone other than who they already are. Also since this series is supposed to be about Enola Holmes the villain shouldn't have been Moriarty anyway. And should have featured less Sherlock Holmes.
And the mid credit scene did the same thing with Watson. We didn't need Watson in this. And we didn't need to change him either.
You could have a great new series with Enola and all new characters. Just have a strong story and good acting.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
Nothing original or new
Started off thinking I was watching Stranger Things season 2 with Eleven, I mean Maisie, hiding out in Hopper's, uh Owen's cabin. Then we had some rooftop scenes like Bourne Identity including jumps through windows with the camera following. Some Indiana Jones scenes including going back for his hat. And even a Star Wars Cantina scene. It was entertaining but really seemed to be no effort to make their own movie. Disappointing.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Too silly to be taken seriously
Hey people liked retro Spider-Man cameos. So let's make another multiverse movie and have character cameos for the sake of having them.
Add in some horrible dialog that you can almost see Cumberbatch forcing himself to say without rolling his eyes.
I didn't like the plot. Didn't like the dialog. And basically found myself laughing at some really cringy and dumb moments. One of the dumbest character deaths ever filmed in the MCU happens mid movie. Worst MCU movie so far.
Stand on It! (2020)
A fun throwback
John Schneider is a big kid at heart and it shows in this movie. How many of us would love to relive one of your favorite movies from your youth and star in it? He obviously didn't have the budget but he paid tribute to a classic the best he could. Sure the acting and editing were rough. But I didn't expect anything else. Thanks John and team for taking me back to my youth. I am actually in the process of obtaining and recreating a movie car from a different movie and now I want to make a tribute movie.
