Sensation (2010)
Ok, have the pause button nearby if you aren't from Ireland
Story of a sad lonely loser who loses his dad suddenly and hooks up with a prostitute who seems to be stuck and who has a dream of becoming a madame. Could have done without unnecessary kitten drowning scene.
Vivarium (2019)
Do not waste your time
While it is a creative way to critique suburban communities, the film was so dark and depressing that I am irritated that I got sucked in. It wasn't worth my time. If humans were trapped in the community having at least 1 neighbor similarly trapped would break up the monotony of seeing the couple and the child for most of the screen time. So many things that could have added depth....the couple was missing for a little more than a year. Is anyone looking for them? How did the realtor get to the community? Where is it in relationship to the real world?
Tú eres mi problema (2021)
could have been better
There are so many disturbing scenes and unexplained parts in this script.
Pros: mother son relationship is a vital part of the storyline that followed logical progression, Spanish and English format, casual beachy look that both main characters had was believable.
Cons: lack of back story on how the smart and driven mom was with a sad and weak character like Sebastian's dad, how the main character got back home and did the lobster left out die.
Life in Color (2015)
Ioved it
I wasn't expecting much from this movie suggested by Prime. It started with a depressing look into Mary's life as a nanny. Not exactly a romantic comedy but comedic and romantic elements.
Kevin Can F**k Himself (2021)
Great Concept, Needs development
I would like to see more of the drama part of the show. I get that the sitcom portion needs to be there. Idk waiting to see what happens.
Wild Honey (2017)
Mildly entertaining
The cast worked well together. I hadn't seen Rusty in anything else and thought she made the film. Her character holds the film together. Her character decided to take a chance and explore a romantic possibility. Her family seemed kind of crappy to her and that was a bit depressed. I would have liked her trip and experience with Martin and her ex lead her in a different direction but then it wouldn't be the indie film that it is.
Two Ninas (1999)
Fine but left me cold
The ending ruined it for me. She should have not taken him back. He had a chance to have the "I'm seeing other people" talk early on avoiding it having to be a all or nothing approach. His character isn't emotionally mature enough to have that conversation. His character would have probably gone with Nina #2 if the other Nina didn't take him back. So what if she wasn't into your book, she was upbeat and didn't make him go through a bunch of tests.
Them (2021)
Disturbing
I understand that some things should be explored but was feeling disturbed. Personal trauma got activated and turned it off in episode 1. Im not going to watch again. Perhaps I need to stick to books.
All Is Bright (2013)
Depressing but had a few moments
I had to turn this movie off because it was so depressing. Turned it back on the next day and a housemate left the room because it was depressing.
This movie didn't contain any comedic elements. I get not everything isn't going to be upbeat but this was too much. Paul G shouldn't have left with Paul R who isn't really his friend. Pass.
