The Umbrella Academy (2019)
Cool. Exciting. Colourful. Suspenseful. Enthralling. Awesome. Amazing
The Umbrella Academy is a show just hooks you from the opening episode only. It's cool, exciting, colourful, suspenseful, enthralling, awesome and amazing. The introduction of the dysfunctional family and the showcase of how they come together to fight for a bigger cause is wonderfully shown throughout the 10 episodes. Granted that the show is slow-paced, but in a way that keeps wanting you for more of what happens next. The 2nd season is much better than the first one because (1)- It comes straight away to the main point without wasting any time and (2)- The cinematography, the suspense, and the slick action sequences that follow.
Moreover, the length of the episodes between the 1st and the 2nd season prove to be of great difference between the two. While the 1st season has hardly any episode that doesn't go over 50+ minutes. The 2nd season is the complete opposite of that, I.e. There is only one episode that is of 50 minutes. So by this only you should have the idea which season is better in the storytelling
Now, speaking of the main characters, everybody is sketched in a good way but Five and Klaus's characters are the highlights of the show. While Five's track gets the majority in keeping your interest in the show, Klaus's track provides the most laughs. It's only Vanya's track that seems boring at times, especially in the 1st season. Luther's track is divided into two opinions, some people might hate him, some might love him. Diego and Allison's tracks are the emotional ones.
Violence is balanced between the episodes, so it shouldn't be any trouble watching this show with your whole family
Overall, it's a must watch show for sci-fi and superhero lovers with a taste of comedy and emotional family drama. Don't miss it!
Westworld (2016)
Amongst the top 3 best series i've watched. Yes, i've watched all the 3 seasons and it's still one of the best series i've watched
Westworld:
Season 1 (2016)- 10/10
A very unique storyline focusing on the hosts (robots) and the guests (humans). Starts off slow, but picks up the pace by the 3rd episode, and then, it's a spine-chilling ride. Enthralling but also very confusing, so you've got to keep attention throughout the season
Season 2 (2018)- 9/10
Even more confusing than season 1 but not better than it. Starts off on a really fast pace but loses it in the mid episodes but again picks up from the 7th episode
Now over to Season 3
I've seen lot of reviews of the people criticising season 3, saying that it's not at all westworld. So what? Atleast it doesn't drift away from it's genres I.e science fiction, drama and thriller. And why are they comparing it to the previous seasons? They were a masterpiece in their own way and this season is a masterpiece in it's own way. I think the people who have given it the negative reviews have just not tried to even show interest in season 3, they have just watched it for the fact that they need to complete what they started, that's it. The hate for season 3 is just ridiculous. I plead the people not to listen to the negative reviews and watch season 3 themselves with full interest
Coming to the performances, everyone got the chance to shine but the ones that shined the most were Ed Harris and Anthony Hopkins. Whenever they both appeared in their scenes, they simply just dominated it. Evan Rachel Wood looked very pretty. James Marsden was a complete surprise. With so many actors and actresses, i thought he might get lost in the crowd but he pulls himself out of it with such ease. Jeffrey Wright was fabulous. Thandie Newton's character was a badass, especially in season 2, and she had done full justice to it. Aaron Paul, Tessa Thompson, Luke Hemsworth and the others were fine
Overall, it's an enthralling ride from start to finish. I am eagerly waiting for Season 4.
Godless: An Incident at Creede (2017)
Absolutely amazing opener episode
Outstanding pilot, love the introduction of the characters. For those saying it's a very slow episode, it's necessary. Had it been fast-paced, some details would definitely be left out and it would not have made any sense later. Apart from this, the cinematography is just out of the world, the scenery and all, you do feel like you're in the western 1880's. Looking forward to more of this show.
The Mandalorian (2019)
8.8? DESERVES MUCH MORE THAN THAT
I was not a fan of Star Wars, but seeing and listening to the hype of this series , I finally decided to give it a try. And boy, WHAT AN AMAZING SERIES. Loved loved every moment of the series, there is not even one episode that disappoints, instead, it keeps you on the edge of your seats. WHAT? YOU DIDN'T WATCH IT YET? THEN WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE? TURN ON YOUR TV AND WATCH IT RIGHT AWAY
