The Reason I Jump (2020)
What a compelling document!!
Tears in my eyes.
This is such a beautiful film about autism. A must-see to understand the world of autistic people. Whatever is said about these people, they have feelings, intelligence and everything 'normal' people have in their personalities. Only their experience of expressing and seeing the world is different, would even say, to be more sensitive than us 'normals'. Their outbursts of anger and aggressiveness is only their expression of frustration and sadness for not being able to share anything with us 'normals'. How would you be yourself!!!
Dare I even say, these people are more authentic than many others on this globe.
La vita davanti a sé (2020)
La Loren, the diva!
A remake of the movie 'La vie devant soi' (1977) with Simon Signoret as Madame Rosa, but now in a more modern setting.
Finally, another film after so many years with the diva Sophia Loren, now a bit stiff, but just as graceful with her short dance, played her role with flair. The little, somewhat bitter crook, Momo (Ibrahima Gueye) played superbly. Strange, after being away from the silver screen for 10 years, another film with La Loren. Hopefully not her last! The director is Sophia Lorens' son Edoardo Ponti who did an excellent job. Worth watching!
Marionette (2020)
Magnificent!!!!
What a film! You can't change your destiny? Or can we change our predestination in our lives through certain choices? Do we live in a matrix? Are there alternate universes? Many questions! A slow film that makes you think about life, death, happiness, sadness, fear and guilt. A parable and metaphor. Also watch his previous film 'Two Eyes Staring', Black water.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
BRAVO, BRAVO.....
Have seen many ghost stories... but this is a new way of telling such stories. You have to be patient, but you will be rewarded for this. You also have to follow the story with concentration. It's all about love, not only the physical, but also towards loved ones and the spiritual. A very good job by the filmmaker. I enjoyed it a lot! Very well done!
