Fate: The Winx Saga (2021)
Quite Good!
I knew almost nothing about Winx before watching Fate. Maybe this is the reason i liked the show.
It has its flaws. For example, the music, clothing and sometimes even the camera were not on point.
However, the pacing of the show is just right.
The characters are hit or miss in my opinion. I genuinely liked Terra, Musa and Stella. However, London Hughes character was way too underdeveloped and did not have a single plotpoint that did not contain Bloom. Speaking of Bloom, her character is really unlikeable! A main character does not have to be likable to work. However, Bloom literally only cares about herself throughout the entire season. This makes her character very annoying.
Deadly Class (2018)
Got messy in the end
I really liked the stylization and the animated backstories were mostly amazing. Additionally, the beginning of the show had me really hooked.
Therefore, i binge watched almost the whole show. However, the stylization of the last episodes was quite messy. I also think that chester is not compelling as an antagonist.
Eventhough i really liked the show at the beginning. I did not enjoy the last episodes. Therefore, i would not recommend this show.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Different and perfect
The haunting of Bly Manor is quite different to Hill House. However it is also slow paced which works perfectly. I really like the introduction and the ending of the season. Also the characters were very well written and acted! I especially like that you don't get spoonfed.
I highly recommend to watch the haunting of Bly Manor. It gets better anf better every episode!
The Social Dilemma (2020)
Very dramatic ...
This documentary has a great production value. However it is very one-sided. Yes, social media can have a bad influence on everyone. However, social media has so many good aspects that don't come up at all. This documentary is also way to dramatic. At one point in the documentary one of the children is 10 seconds without her smartphone and literally smashes a small container to ger her phone back.
Would i recommend this documentary?
Yes, eventhough i don't like how overdramatic this documentary is portrayed it helps to raise the awareness of the dangers of social media.
Athlete A (2020)
Ver good production
This documentation is very shocking and emotional. It perfectly highlights the horrifying truth most of these athletes had to endure.
I highly recommend this documentation
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Perfection!
I wrote this review before the release of season 2.
The first season was intense with characters that were perfectly written and plot twists that blew my mind. I watched season 1 two years ago and I am still thinking about it.
I highly recommend watching the show!
The Lego Batman Movie (2017)
Great movie
It's a very enjoyable movie. It is also highly creative and funny.
I'd definitely recommend this movie.
Aquaman (2018)
Eye candy without a threat
The movie was not boring in my opinion. And I think it was very beautiful shot. The world-building was also done great.
However I didn't like the romance it felt rushed and almost out of place. I also didn't like the revenge plot. Manta's motivation felt cheap and very unrealistic in my opinion. However King Orm managed to be a decent antagonist.
What Happened to Monday (2017)
Good action-thriller
Enjoyable movie with good action and eventhough the siblings werent the best characters noomi rapace played them very well.
However the movie lost me at the end.
I would definitely recommend this movie to action-thriller fans!
The Devil All the Time (2020)
Good movie
This movie is definitely a slow burn. It is very dark and gave me almost the whole time a feeling of unease. Nevertheless the movie got me thinking about it a lot afterwards.
That's why I would consider this movie well done! However I don't think I will rewatch this movie anytime soon.
Knives Out (2019)
Good murder mystery
Knives Out started very funny. The first half of the movie is in my Oppinion great. Good character development and great plot development. However the second half of the movie was weaker in both of these aspects. I wish the family would have been more involved into the second half.
Overall I would definitely recommend to watch Knives Out!
