Horrible, mess of a movie

I really wanted to like this movie. It has such a great cast and I had such high hopes. As soon as I got about 20 minutes in I knew the movie was trash. A star studded cast with zero depth to any of their conversations. I saw that the Obamas produced it. I guess they talked their celebrity friends into acting in it? It's the only thing that makes sense because I cannot imagine wanting my name attached to this movie in any way. There is no explaination as to what's going on. Events that make zero sense and will not be explained continue to happen. The acting is subpar at best. It's really a shame. What is even more a shame is the positive reviews. My guess is Sam is drumming up all his friends and family writing positive reviews. Emmy stop! It's one review per person.

Frasier (2023– )

Disappointed

I love Kelsey. I was so excited for this. Kelsey does a wonderful job. However, everything else looks forced. The other actors are all over acting and it's obvious. I just feel like the chemistry among the cast just isn't there and it just is obvious they are acting. Nothing about the snow feels natural. It's really sad because it's a good theme. I feel like it could have gone somewhere. Frazier moving in with his son like he did with his dad in the original. Maybe the show was rushed and they should have been more selective when it came to casting and the chemistry. I don't know the answer but it doesn't work.

The Idol (2023)

Literally the worst show ever

What to say? Well, this is probably the worst show I've ever seen. I thought that this stood a chance and people were being overly critical but no. They definitely are not wrong. There is zero chemistry among any of the cast. It's basically a glorified porn. I think the goal was to be super edgy but somewhere along the way to find the ultimate edginess they forgot to tell any sort of story. Why Depp would ever pick this show to start her career is beyond me. If anything this will destroy her in my opinion. I used to like The Weeknd but honesty after watching this I can't even look at him. Did anyone discuss doing this show with their managers first? If they did then their managers or whoever told them to Do this show should be fired. I've seen better acting in porn.

I don't understand the bad reviews. It's a mini series based on a book. I did not read the book so I was going on blind. However, I think it's good. I see a bunch of reviews saying it has "bad acting". I actually think the acting is good. I like the cast. It's got the Natalee Holloway-missing-in-Aruba-feel. Honestly it's a good series to watch because unfortunately we all have a false sense of security when we are in a vacation spot outside of our own country. I'm only 3 episodes in but so far so good. My guess is that the culprit is not the person they are setting you up to believe it is. Have I see better? Yes. Have a seen worse? Oh God yes. It's definitely worth a watch and the bad reviews are being overly critical.

I saw this movie when it came out. Working in healthcare I was always fascinated and also scared to death of pandemics. I remember when I first watched this movie I thought that it was a pretty accurate portrayal of what a pandemic would look like if it happened today. Flash forward 10 years later and COVID hits. Now when I watch this movie I'm chilled to the bone. I'm shocked this movie's accuracy isn't talked about more. We need to all watch this and pay attention because if COVID was just a little more fatal we could have made this move a nonfiction movie. Who knows what the last pandemic will bring.

Fever Dream???????

What did I just watch? Listen, I grew up in the 80's and I love to see the underdog win. I cried like a baby during all the winner's speeches. Then I figured let me watch the movie. Horrible. It was literally a fever dream. I don't understand the high ratings. The acting was very good, I'm not saying it wasn't but the movie made no sense and had no order. I came on IMDB to see if it was just me. Clearly it is not just me. A giant bagel? Fighting with your feet? An eye glued to the forehead? Talking rocks? Hot dogs? Did the writer just write down his experience on LSD? I don't know. I thought I've seen it all but clearly I was mistaken.

I'm giving it a 10 because this is definitely a cult classic for me. This is the first horror movie in a long time that totally did it's own thing. It was completely unique and it had a good story. I didn't expect it to be as good as it is. I pretty much watch it whenever I see it on tv. It doesn't get old. There is such a lack of good horror movies out there. Anything I've seen recently is either boring or copying enough another horror. This was the first of its kind to not follow that trend. I also liked that they somewhat based the town off of a real waterfall with similar characteristics. A horror with some dark humor....works for me.

Knock at the Cabin (2023)

I don't get the haters

I really don't understand the haters of this movie. I thought it was excellent. Like all M. Night Shyalaman movies this one makes you think. It has a deeper meaning. For me it was one of the better M. Night movies. Can I say best? The only reason I'm not saying it's one of his best is because that would put it up against all his very cult classic movies. But for me it's definitely up there on his list. His movies always chill you to the bone without being overly gory. This is M. Night class style. It will make you think about the deeper meaning of life and what it truly is to sacrifice and to love. The acting was incredible from all of the cast. I only recognized one cast member but I hope to see the rest in the future. Have a box of tissues nearby.

From Scratch (2022)

Excellent

I honestly didn't know what to expect. I know several people who recommended this mini series but didn't tell me much about it. Honestly it was better than I expected it to be. The acting was amazing. The story was exceptional. Definitely a bittersweet story. Just an all around good story about family and love. I would highly recommend it. Definitely shows you that family is not just blood but it is who you love and who loves you in return. You definitely will cry so be forewarned. A truly meaningful story. Watch this with a box of tissues nearby because you will definitely need every last one of them.

I'm giving it a 6 but it was an 8 till season 4

I really liked this show. Season 1 was good. I thought season 2 and 3 were very good. My question is what happened to season 4? It's completely boring. I was excited for a change in pace. The characters are completely uninteresting. Literally, I've been watching it in the background because I don't even care of the characters die because one is more annoying and miserable than the last. I'm really hoping that part 2 to season 4 gets better because I feel like we waited a year for a big let down.

It really seems like the writers didn't know where to go after season 3 so they just decided to erase everything and start fresh. It's kind of a bummer.

Shotgun Wedding (2022)

Amazing cast, unwatchable movie

I was excited for this movie since there was all that drama with Armie Hammer and Josh Duhamel taking his place. I was excited when I heard what a great cast was in this movie. I have always loved just about everyone JLO romantic comedy movie I've seen. This was basically unwatchable. I watched the first 20 minutes hoping it would get better and thinking "maybe it's me". Unfortunately it didn't get better and I turned it off probably about 40 minutes in. You seriously don't get better than Lenny Kravitz and Jennifer Coolidge but even they couldn't save this movie. Super disappointing and it goes to show you that no matter who's in a movie Jr the writing is bad there is no saving it.

Had potential but fell flat

I honestly don't get the good reviews. It definitely had potential then fell flat. I liked it till the end. It kind of was a cross between It Follows and the ring? I really liked IT Follows because it was an original. This movie copied it and then didn't know how to end it so it gave you the most generic ending possibly. It actually took me a minute to even realize it was the ending. Writers definitely dropped the ball on this one which is a shame because casting was really done well. It just needed something more. It wasn't ready to be filmed and needed writers to put more thought into it. The actors deserved better.

The Patient: The Cantor's Husband (2022) Season 1, Episode 10

Best episode

I don't know why this episode got bad reviews. It was the best by far. It was definitely the most realistic. I don't want to give spoilers but this episode was full of emotions. I did like many of the previous episodes but for me this episode spoke the most. It could have had a happier but also a more unrealistic ending but then that wouldn't have been true to what the series was about. I think it ended the way it needed to end. I still think this snow would have been better as a movie and I don't know the purpose in 20 something minute episodes but all in all it was a good mini series for the most part.

Halloween Ends (2022)

Based on the reviews I was expecting this movie to be so bad. Honestly it was probably one of my favorite Halloween movies. I get how a true Halloween genre fan might not like this movie since it doesn't fit the cookie cutter Halloween franchise. But, honestly it was different in a good way. I liked how it ended. So with that said I gave it a higher rating because I just feel like it was unfairly rated so low by so many reviewers. The opening was unexpected and good. I don't honestly know how Michael Meyers was living in a drain? Was that his retirement home? I don't get that part. All of a sudden Michael stopped his murder rampage and lived in a drain. Honestly that part made no sense to me and I feel like that could have been thought out better. The rest was a go for me. Just don't go into it thinking it's gonna be like the rest of the Halloween movies.

I honestly don't get the bad reviews. I bumped this review up because it didn't get the credit it deserved. Another reviewer said it was a Hitchcock style movie and honestly that was a great description. It's a slow burn to an extent but much better than I expected it to be. There is a lack of good thriller type movies out there. This one definitely was a much needed movie. Definitely has its own style. I liked it. I'm so over Hollywood just rebooting movies. This movie stands out because it wasn't trying too hard to be completely different than movies in the past. I'm not adding any spoilers but I definitely didn't expect the ending.

Luckiest Girl Alive (2022)

It's very slow moving and honestly could have been so much better. It had a lot of potential that really didn't go anywhere. I think another reviewer said that Mila Kunis was very one dimensional in her role and I agree with that. I was surprised because I normally think she does an excellent job. Maybe it was the directing? Chiara Aurelia blew it out of the park. She did an amazing job. All in all it has a good story but doesn't hold your attention for the first hour. For me it was a struggle to make it through the movie and I ended up googling the summary before I finished it to make sure I wasn't wasting time.

I'm giving it a 10. It's different than any movie I've seen. It was intense to the point I had to watch it twice because I was so nervous during the first watching I couldn't look at the screen the entire time. The thing I loved about this movie was no crappy CGI. Read about the making of this movie. Turns out that this was a real tower and the actual people who made the tower recreated the top 100 feet. That recreation was put on a mountain top. So the actors were really 2000 feet up. The scenes in this movie were incredible. Since we spent the last 20 years looking at unrealistic CGI this movie was a breath of fresh air. The acting was also great. What started as an Indie movie with a 3 million dollar budget ended up being an excellent movie that definitely isn't getting the credit it deserves. Props to the writers and director of this movie.

OK so this is not a mini series

This is not a mini series. This is a movie that they broke up into 20 minute segments. Why? Just make it a movie. Didn't they have a streaming service that had 20 minute episodes and they went under? Does Hollywood not learn from past experience? I've seen longer commercials. OK rant over. The acting is excellent and it's an interesting story that really has not been explored before. I like it. Steve Carell is always amazing. He can pretty much do anything. The actor that plays "Sam", Domhnall Gleeson, is also excellent. If it wasn't for the 20 minute episodes I would given it a 7. However for bad marketing it gets a 4. Hollywood get it together.

A really cute movie with good acting. Similar concept to Sliding Doors but much better. It's a good one for teens so they can see no matter what road your life takes it can turn out good either way.

Ended perfectly. I can't honestly think of a better ending. Loved the cameos. Definitely bittersweet but so happy there were no more deaths. I was worried about what this episode would bring but it was an almost divine intervention and in the end, although Jimmy goes to jail, he still seems so much happier than he did at Cinnabon.

I really don't get the bad reviews. This show is excellent. It's interesting and fast moving. It is part comedy and part mystery. The acting is excellent. I really can't say anything bad about it. They leave out the politics which basically is involved in almost everything these days. It's just a really good show. I wish it was an hour an episode.

The Bear (2022– )

Surprisingly good

I don't know why but I didn't expect much from this show. I don't know why I felt that way considering I always thought Jeremy Allen White was a good actor. It's better than expected. The acting is really good and the show is enjoyable and something different than all the other shows out there. It's a very accurate portrayal of working in a restaurant. The people in the other reviews that are complaining there is too much yelling definitely never worked in a restaurant and absolutely didn't grow up in an Italian family.

Jurassic World Dominion (2022)

Loved it

I see a lot of bad reviews but if you loved the Jurassic park movies you will love this. There is a lot of nostalgia in this movie. I thought it was great how they worked the original cast into the new movie. Also, there was a lot of cameos from previous cast members. Was it my favorite Jurassic park movie? No, I like both originals (Jurassic world and Jurassic Park) the best. But, I thought this was much better than Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. Don't go by the bad reviews if you like the Jurassic movies you will love this.

Run Hide Fight (2020)

WOW...powerful

In my opinion this movie didn't get the credit it deserves. I'm sure it was kept quiet because of the topic of school shootings but it also raised a lot of powerful points. It showed untreated mental illness, lack of readiness and preparation for an active shooter event on the schools part and a lot of other important things we need to seriously start figuring out before another one of these events occur. This probably isn't the best movie for the possible copy cats in the world but with that said it also shows a lot of our weaknesses within the school and legal system that need to be addressed ASAP.

Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

Excellent. Best movie I've seen in FOREVER

I don't think I would be the only one to say that the movies Hollywood has been churning out recently for the most part have been pretty terrible. This was amazing. It was worth the 30+ year wait. This movie by far was better than the first. The story and action was so much better. No crappy CGI. All of the scenes were very realistic. The actors were great and Tom Cruise looks amazing. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Also, no politics that Hollywood normally loves to pour into everything. If you are going to go see a movie and don't want any of the nonsense this is it.
