Creator (1985)
An emotional and full of hopes movie...
When I read other user comments about this movie, I felt that I had to write down these few lines... "Creator" is one of my favorites movies of all times (together with "Skin Deep" by Blake Edwards, that's Completely different!). It's one of the most "full-of-hope" film I have ever seen. The main characters have "something" inside... I could not find in any other film. They meet joy and drama in the same way we may do during our "real" lives. And I felt so sorry when I read that someone was not able to reach the end of the movie, because he lost of the most moving hug I have ever seen between a man and a boy, who may really feel like father and son, in that particular moment. Just a simple, great movie full of emotions and true feelings that will not be easy to find again in contemporary film production.
Blown Away (1992)
The great idea is in the youth of characters
Maybe it's true. Maybe it's not the movie of the century. But it has great ideas. I was really struck by the young age of the actors. If you think they are acting you can imagine how much work there is behind this movie. You can pay attention to details: you can see Nicole is wearing some transparent thin pants when she's going out of bed after having had sex with Corey Haim. But everything is well shot. I mean: the sex scenes are really crude, if you can remember when you were 17 years old. Everyone of us (male guys) would have made everything to live an affair with some babe like Nicole. And They are great in putting this feelings on all their love sequences. Maybe the plot won't win the Best Screenplay Award, but I guess the director had more interesting things to say about the huge teen-agers power of feelings than the story itself. Nice Shots, well edited. A good movie. It gives you more than you expect. One bad thing I have to say: DVD has a really really really poor quality. Producers did not believe this movie so much.
Noises Off... (1992)
Extremely funny with an extraordinary cast
I have read the original screenplay, at least five times. I found this movie so smart to capture the real stage life before and after the making of a show. Michael Caine picked up out of his top hat one of his most brilliant comic characters, (my mind goes to "Sleuth" and "without a clue"), while John Ritter plays a great neurotic actor, and Christopher Reeve a shy and fragile man enjoying his "Superman-counterpart". Professional female actresses complete the show and made me laugh like a few things in my life.
