Dumbo (2019)
Disney, you actually made a good live action remake!
It's definitely not as good as the original, but it's a solid movie! It does nerf a lot of what made the original movie good, but makes up for it with a good story, and many of the adult actors are pretty funny. The children, on the other hand, seem very robotic, and they're pretty bland. On a final note, this movie has a style that's lacking from the other live action remakes, and it definitely deserves some attention. It may not be an Oscar worthy movie and it's definitely not an above average movie, but it is very solid and pretty good.
Ben 10 (2016)
Changed everything for the worst
First of all, I don't like the cast changes. Second of all, the characters have been changed to supposedly be "funnier" yet failing a lot at the task. I'll just say it, this is a cringier version of a good show, and I don't like it.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Boring!!!
This movie was boring, and you can't keep up with the plot. I was not paying attention during the whole movie. I almost fell asleep. There were lame jokes, weird new rules invented just for this universe like Leia becoming Mary Poppins, and just a lot of confusion. A lot of people can point out all the problems with this movie, but in my opinion, it is just boring.
Knives Out (2019)
Keep watching until the end.
This is a great mystery movie, no matter what people say. Now, you'll have to keep watching this movie until the end because the plot keeps getting better and better. I only retracted one stat from this because of some disgusting puke scenes, however without that it would be a perfect movie.
Onward (2020)
Honestly, Pixar is making better movies than Disney
I can't believe it. The best animated movie of the year was not by Disney. And it's not a surprise because most of the movies Disney did in 2019 were sequels and remakes (and Star Wars, and Avengers Endgame, which wasn't as good as Avengers: Infinity Wars). This is one of the most creative movies I've ever watched! Sure, it's cliche, however it's got a good moral, a good story, good character development, its humor isn't just in one character (contrary to Frozen II), and it is visually beautiful. This is the best animated movie of the year, and I really hope Disney makes more movies like this.
The Willoughbys (2020)
Netflix, you did it again!
Is it really a surprise that Netflix is having some of the best movies? Not only that, but it's innovating with its anination. Klaus was an example of that innovation, and this is the next. It reminds me both of Coraline and A Series of Unfortunate Events. Coraline as an animation style (even though it's not really stop motion), and Lemony Snicket with its story's style. It also seems like a parody of Lemony Snicket, and it's just as good! The story is pretty silly, and also pretty dark sometimes, but there is a lot of character development, and it does relate somewhat to real life, although it is exaggerated and mixed with some fun elements for kids. Anyway, I love this movie, and I think more people should appreciate it for what it is.
