A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014)
A Million Ways to Die of Laughter
I don't care what anyone says, this movie is funny! The whole speech Albert gives on how hard it was to live in the west and how easy it was to die had me in tears!! Even if you never lived in the West and grew up with this history, this movie gives a perfect insight to how crazy life used to be! The stuff he states is 100% on the money when he describes the west in the 1800's! If you can't find humor in this, you have no humor and that is a crying shame because this movie will give you a nice release of endorphins if your looking for a fun comedy. If you can't laugh at "You shouldn't drink and horse", then this movie is not for you but those who can, will have a good time!

Stay Away From My BUBBE!!
I don't care what anyone says but this movie is funny! I mean if your looking for academy award acting, you're setting your sites too high but if you want some crazy slap stick comedy with a bunch of rockers than this movie is it.
Dave Grohl is funny and so is Rami and his bedazzled underoos! They all have some great comedic moments.
Honestly, I think minus the horror element this is an insight to how these amazing guys work and really why they have managed to stay together over 20 years. Give it a chance I promise you there is real comedy gold.
Oh better yet if you like Tenacious D type comedy, then this movie will be right your comedy and rock alley!!
King Richard (2021)
Humbling...
First off I have no knowledge of tennis, nor really that much about Venus or Serena Williams other that they are sport stars. I am basically saying no bias going into this other than I really like Will Smith and when he goes for dramatic stuff, never disappoints and this movie is no exception. Not to give anything away but as a parent there are some teachable moments that I came away with but the underlying message is that no matter what box people try to put you in remain humble and stay the course. I also loved the dynamic of Richard and Brandy, Richard is the ship tearing through the water, but Brandy is the Navigator who keeps Richard in check. Everyone is on point with their acting which means humor, emotion, excitement where it needs to be, give it chance, it's a great movie!
Shûmatsu no Valkyrie (2021)
I Like It....
I'm not so sure why people are drinking their Haterade for this show? I will admit I don't understand the die-hard fandom of Anime, but I do love Folklore & Mythology and this show has ton of it. I mean yeah I guess it doesn't have a ton of fighting between the Gods and Man, but then there would be no show (hopefully one can figure out why). I love the detail that brings out the mythology and legends on both the Gods and Mortals. I mean it's funny and interesting and unless one of these haters can draw or script a better story to Netflix, I suggest ignoring them and giving this show a chance.
Cruella (2021)
Impressive!
First of all, never watched movie or read the book 101 Dalmatians so maybe my experience is different from die hard fans but I loved this movie! The fashion is impeccable, as well as, the acting. I actually want to watch the cartoon now and that's saying something (I'm not a big cartoon person, let alone Disney cartoons). Give it a watch and if people trip out about anything then they are dumb because they kept it to the time so let haters hate because no matter what they will always find something to be disappointed in. Watch it, well worth it!
Bad Trip (2021)
So Stupid but That's What Makes it Funny
I hate prank shows, always thought that was stupid humor but this movie is soooo funny! It's a scripted movie and they forgot to tell the extras they were going to be in the movie and so the reactions of the people are down right hilarious. I gave this a chance because Tiffany Haddish is in it and I love pretty much anything she is in, so I'm glad I gave it a shot. Seriously the look on the peoples face especially during the bar scenes was classic!
The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021)
Pain Through Song
I won't lie I was in thence at first since I really don't know too much about Billie Holiday's life story and only knew a little about her music. I did read that it picked up right as she went into prison for "narcotics use". I know previous movies went in and explained her start but this was about why she was the way she was, how she was the voice of her people, American people who were being burned and lynched. The. Government couldn't blame her for singing but they could for drugs so it's the suppression of making a statement but wrapped in a blanket rule breaking when it was blatant racism. I will say it starts slow and if you don't know her life you are getting an eyes wide view of a "junkie" but quickly escalates and you can see that sang people paid attention. Spoiler alert here: I watch horror movies and so in that context not much makes me jump but the scene when Billie stumbles onto a family whose house was burned and children crying because their parent was lynched, just watching as the words "justice served" shocked me. I still feel stunned and the feeling she felt and why she was the way she was just made sense why she pushed through and sang her song. What's more horrific is that anti-lynching laws have never passed congress to this day . You just feel like you know her through song and Andra Day did a terrific job conveying a story who lived a tragic life but left a piece of her soul through her music. Give it a chance, it will hopefully open you up to why "Strange Fruit" was epic to understanding civil inhumanity and why it needed/needs to be heard.
Ginny & Georgia (2021)
There is NO Book on Parenting but this Show Helps!
I won't lie, I passed this show a few times when it popped up because I had no clue about what it was and I have never been into the angst teenager who is smarter than the adults who are there parents and are played by 30 year olds. Then I briefly heard or saw a news flash that TSwift or her fans were paused at this show and wanted to get it cancelled, so naturally I decided to watch. I mean how horrible is a show when people have nothing better to do than actively try to cancel a show based on a celebrities hurt feelings, so I was sold on checking it out.
I am on episode 5 and totally hooked. As far as I can tell it's not offensive and I haven't heard any slams on TSwift, but it's still early and even if they did or do, it's called a joke and this is how people talk. Your telling me the conversations that these characters are having are not the same that are going on in homes everywhere?
I like this because Georgia, even though she is a hustler, LOVES her kids and even though her ways of parenting are not cookie cutter as the way people think kids should be raised but when life hands you lemons, you gotta make lemonade, lemon meringue pie, lemon jello to get by. The most interesting thing is even though Georgia is always being judged, she is smart as whip and dishes as good as people try to give. She knows where her power lies and does what she needs to do to take care of herself and family. As for Ginny, she is bright and being bi-racial you see how she gets treated (note white enough for the whites, not black enough for the blacks) always being judged but you also see how her mother doesn't stand for it. You see even kids with privilege are just as messed up as the ones who come from nothing. You see how petty parents can be and how they fail to see their kids as long as the kid falls in line and presents the perfect picture on the outside who cares what they are doing until they get caught. You see how insecure everyone is and that as we progress, no matter if you are smart, educated, race, poor, whatever that the internet tears even the strongest person down.
This show is life and yes some stuff works out better than real life but it's a show but at least they are making some points about how vaped and crazy worrying about how the kids are seen by others is killing the kids and no one seems to care as long as the outside picture remains pretty. There are some good parents like Ellen but in a world where your kids are surrounded by so much negativity, you can see why Ellen feels so lost.
It's a good show, good things to consider and makes you think just how ef'd up life is and the world we live in is hard to be a kid and a parent no matter your life circumstances.
CHIPS (2017)
This Movie is Fuuuuuuuny!
I don't know why people don't like this movie, first it has Dax Shepard and second it has Michael Pena - great actors - great chemistry and the scene where Ponch carries Baker and accidentally trips and face pls ya into his crotch is beyond hilarious- it's funny and if you give it a chance it will become a favorite - promise!
Torden (2020)
Must Watch!
I feel like I say the same thing in all of my reviews but haters be hating. This is actually a really good movie and I think people don't like it be cause the way it concludes but truth is humanity as a whole is horrible. If we were to encounter someone with remarkable powers, instead of cultivating that miraculous nature, the fear that drives is what will destroy us. It's worth the watch and for sure it is a pretty Interesting twist on this Norse mythology. It would be cool if they would make a sequel but I guess we shall see
The Tax Collector (2020)
This Movie is A Must Watch
I'm not sure why people are giving this such low ratings? If they were expecting a happy ending, well life in this kind of world never ends happy. If people want resolution, well some things are left unresolved, which is also real life. What makes this movie so interesting in his that you see one guy who is all about his family, believes in God, and is essentially "following" and leading a "business" his family has been running/into since who knows when, his partner Creeper is a sociopath but believes in loyalty and sees David as his brother and even though his values are the complete opposite of David's, is the Ying to David's Yang. I guess the whole point to this story is that at some point even the bad guys have to decide how bad is bad and when loyalty, honor, love, and family is tested, how far will one to keep what little piece of humanity and legacy they have left. Watch it, it will leave you thinking or mad because the "dad" knew what was coming and just used his own family as a test.
Rock of Ages (2012)
We Built this Musical on ROCK n' ROLL!
If you don't like musicals then maybe this is not your movie BUT and this is a big BUT, if you love 80s rock and want to have a great time singing along to Poison, RATT, Warrant, Def Leppard, etc reimagined plus giggling at the ridiculous of the 80s then this movie is you! I don't know why everyone thinks every damn movie needs to be an OSCAR or beyond revolutionary, but if you want to just enjoy a simple time of awesome songs from 1987 LA then this movie is you!!
Shrill (2019)
Give this show a minute and it WILL grow on you
For starters, people love or hate this show, it seems to not be middle of the road. Check out the review on this from MovieQween-33622, she/he/them sums this show up perfectly. I think people who go into this show thinking it is a comedy about making fun of a "fat girl"become uncomfortable when it turns into a reality check on how it is to be different in a world that wants conventional beauty. I bet if this was the same story but with a Lucy Hale type people would not be so negative. I say give it a try and yeah there are some really uncomfortable issues that Annie deals with and it's realistic except for the fact her boss would have already been sued for the bs he slings but ya know it's a tv show.
A Bad Moms Christmas (2017)
"Putting the A$$ in Christmas!"
This movie was funny! There were so many times that I was laughing out loud I almost peed myself. I haven't read the reviews from the haters but it's a comedy and each character is like a friend you know or even yourself and so if your not looking for an Oscar deep meaning movie then this is your gem. If you can relate because you have kids, this is your movie and even the scene in the church between Amy and her mom made me all misty eyed because seriously that's how it is with moms. Oh and even if you just watch the stripping scene and the tree stealing part, it's worth it for the laughs.
Lovecraft Country (2020)
Addicting
I don't understand the negative reviews for this show. I gave it a 9 at first but changed to 10 after watching a few more episodes. It really is u folding nicely.
Better yet, I don't understand how people can not get addicted to this show! I've watched each episode (4 so far (CURSE you HBO for not binge dropping!!)) about 10 times each and every single time I see a new piece of the puzzle that I missed the first time! For instance, 1st episode - Atticus says he gets a letter from his dad explaining his family history, and the first time I never noticed the look on George's face but after episode 2, rewatch it and things start clicking. It is crazy how they just drop that stuff in so subtle but it makes a huge impact down the road.
Next, how can people say the acting is so so?!?! Have we been watching the same show? I mean seriously, episode 3, the emotional pain that Journee Smollett shows is heartbreaking so much so I know what's going to happen and it still makes me cry every time I see her pleading for help from the spirts and when they come together and become whole, is just amazing especially when you see what was done to them. FYI - that baby head did not just come from nowhere - I think the lady with her breast and arm cut off, when you see her start to regenerate you will see her cradling a baby when her arm reappears and then you see her pregnant so you know they cut the baby out of her, ugh so sad. Like I said, once you Start to rewatch these episodes, you'll see the little things that make so much sense, like Epstein's arm is missing when he confronts Lettie and next episode you know why! Point being, if you can't get lost in the moment then your not watching the show, you are really feeling what these people are going through.
It's true it is following the book with alterations but it's for a reason - some things just do not translate from print to movie so the changes made from book to show, I approve of so far.
Each character has pain and depth and the onion layer gets peeled back every episode!
Honestly give this show a chance and sometimes the gruesome horror that these people are complaining about this is show lacking, which it isn't, is quite honestly because they missed the point on the implied horror that humanity contains. Quite honestly seeing the human monsters for what they are and how much much hate, rage, and the enjoyment of torture they can afflict on another person and to justify is just plain terrifying. Sad thing is if those reviewers can't see that, be afraid of them because that is just a clear view insight into these peoples minds...yikes!
I like it, I hope the season ends strong and they can extend this for another season and if anything please just give it a chance and think for yourself and above all else remember even though this is a show, all aspects of what they are saying is based on an element of truth so once that sinks in that will get your brain reeling!
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
Why Do Haters Got To Hate?!
I think people have nothing better to do but tear down movies. This is a fun movie, quirky. The weird thing is the people who are drinking their lime green hater are, praised Mary to long to remember starts with a W, as the best part of the film!? She wasn't bad but she wasn't all that, more flat but I guess everybody is entitled to their opinions.
Bottom line: If you are looking for a movie that has quirkiness, think Looney Toons, and you can take a joke and are not looking for some overly inflated Oscar Chariots of Fire type movie, give it a shot and you will be impressed.
Yes there is an underlying message but in a world where women can stand up to the Harvey Weinstein of the world, you are going to see these dogs and if you don't like it well then your probably a Harvey Weinstein yourself.
Give it a chance you won't be disappointed unless I guess your a die hard comic person then get over it and make your own movie, until then calm down and stop tagging on this movie.
The Interview (2014)
This movie had me in tears!
I was laughing so hard I was crying! I love this type of comedy and Rogan and Franco always make me laugh but this was off the chart! Give it a chance either you will love it or hate it because you ain't us.
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (2019)
Stop Trowing Hater-Tots!
This movie is awesome and the people who hate it obviously do not or have not watched any of of Kevin Smiths films but all the jokes make sense because you have watched all those films. This movie is a satire of what is wrong with Hollywood and with American Culture in general. Did you ever wonder why so many stars agree to do these films? It is because they are fun and they do not take themselves seriously but while making a very clear point. If your looking for some sad Oscar contender type movie, than this movie is not for you. If you are a hard core supporter of the J&SB universe, then kick back, smoke or if you are in or approaching the 40verse, eat the appropriate edible, and let the good memories roll with your bestest HeteroLifeMate above all laugh!! Oh and the tribute to Stan Lee will bring a tear to your eye and you can almost imagine Lee and Carlin are hanging with Alanis Morissette in the high sky above nodding their approval and both saying "Snootchin"!
Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker: The Fight of the Century (2020)
Opened My Eyes!!!
I will be completely honest but before this move I don't think I ever heard of Madam C.J. Walker. I really glad I gave this movie a chance because it was soooooo good! Not only does it have a spectacular cast but it is an inspirational story for every women. Madam Walker stood her ground when so many people tried to keep her down but she kept her head held high and as she succeeded she helped others and really gave back to family, friends, and community. I would honestly love to have met such a fierce woman and seeing how her light could have shined brighter if she were in our world today. I cannot wait to show this movie to my girls, minus a bit or two. Give it a shot, you won't be dis appointed and the soundtrack is AWESOME!!! I hope Octavia Spencer and Tiffany Haddish both win Oscars or Golden Globes or something ing - they pulled this show off without a hitch!!
Long Shot (2019)
Best Rom-Com I have seen in awhile!
Have not read the other reviews but with it only getting 6.9, the people who voted this low either didn't really watch it or expected it to be some dumb critic favorite. It is a total Seth Rogan film but I love Charlize Theron in this role. I don't know, for being a rom-com it is really good. It reminds me of "The American President" but with role reversal which is a nice change of pace. I don't think anything I say will change another's mind they will either really like it or not but I will say this:
1. The soundtrack is AWESOME, which we all know can make or break a movie and
2. The very last ending scene where Flarsky and Fields stare at each other and say:
Fields: He is my Mr.
Flarsky: I am her Mr. and she is my President.
Then they look at each other and that it looks real like they are in love and awe! Now that is acting my friend! That is the stuff the academy should look at while also melting your heart.
I mean there are other scenes that match that but that even making Alexander Skasguard look like a total nerd, which who knew that was possible?
If you give this movie a chance I think you will be pleasantly surprised...I am just saying.
The Happytime Murders (2018)
Think Avenue Q without the singing
I thought this was hilarious, but if you were looking for "The Muppets" or "Sesame Street" then you would be in for a shock since this is not made for little kids. It's grown up humor with puppets. Think "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" but with more "mess"!! I loved it, I love Melissa McCarthy and I wish the stuff she produced and take chances on would get better reception. I feel like if people would actually take the chance to watch this, they would totally love it, too. Don't let the haters get inside your head, watch it, laugh at it or with it and don't take this movie too seriously. This movie is meant to be funny and you know the people who made it had a great time making it, you can see it in the movie (and during the credits). I think if people gave it a shot they would enjoy it just as much as I did!
