Jack Wild at his Best!!!
This is the stuff great memories are made of! At 40 I have not only fallen in love with Jack Wild again, but I adore the entire series even more as an adult. Perhaps it is because Witchipoo and all of the other characters were directed toward adults. As adults we now know the old movie actors they were portraying like John Wayne, Shirley Temple, Judy Garland, W.C. Fields, Jimmy Cagney, Peter Lorre and Edward G. Robinson just to name a few. My daughters have also fallen in love with Jack Wild and adore the series too. They love it when Jack sings and dances because they loved him in Oliver. We only wished that the musical numbers Jack did were longer!! We could watch an entire half hour of nothing but Jack Wild singing and dancing. "How Lucky I Am" to have grown up with Jack Wild and now he is a second generation idol to my daughters. What other actors do you know have this lasting charm? May Jack sing and dance for eternity. We love you Jack!!
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)
Only needs to be seen once and that would be too many
This movie was not a tasteful portrayal of the legend of Robin Hood. As a little girl, I went to Nottingham, visited Sherwood Forest and fell in love with the legend of Robin Hood while standing in the Major Oak. Robin Hood (Kevin Costner) and Wil Scarlett (Christian Slater) whether intentional or not do not even have English accents but everyone else does. The best actors in the movie were Little John (Nick Brimble), King Richard (Sean Connery), and for a wonderful taste of comedy there is Much the Miller's son (Jack Wild) in a brief scene. I wish the movie had more brilliant shining moments like that one because this movie was too dark and too violent. It needed more light and fun scenes between the merry men. It focused too much on Robin and Marion and not enough on the the bond between the Merry Men.

What could be better than Jack Wild singing and dancing?
I grew up with H.R. Pufnstuff and the dashingly talented Jack Wild and now my daughters are adoring fans of Jack Wild too. This movie is exactly what movies should be: fun and entertaining. This movie is not limited to children either. A lot of the dialogue is directed to adults and Witchiepoo's performance is something you do not want to miss. The music in this movie suited Jack Wild and Mama Cass beautifully. And as a Jack Wild fan, I would never miss the chance to watch him dance or hear him sing. Knowing the hard life that Jack had now makes this movie even more wonderful especially when he sings the opening song "If I Could". It makes me pause in loving adoration for him for giving me wonderful childhood memories that I am now passing on to my children. Let's all go to Living Island where there is friendship and fun! And keep Jack Wild's memory alive by passing Pufnstuff on to others.
Flight of the Doves (1971)
Brilliantly acted
A very well acted film by actors Ron Moody and Jack Wild who worked well together in the movie Oliver. Ron Moody is brilliantly funny and sometimes frightening with his disguises and different characters. Jack Wild is wonderful as the compassionate loving older brother who loves his younger sister enough to run away to Ireland so she can be truly loved by someone: their grandmother who is nicely portrayed by Dorthy McGuire. The adventures they encounter on their way to Ireland are wonderful as is the scenery of Ireland. This film was shot entirely in Ireland and the music soundtrack is as lovely as Ireland. A nice family film with a happy ending. Beats what is out there today.
