Blonde (2022)
This movie is beautiful.
The movie is hauntingly beautiful. An innocent soul slowly turns into a tortured soul. In the beginning, you can see her being forged like steel, heated up in Californian wildfire and hardened in a bathtub by motherly resentment and bent by circumstances until she finally broke. She willingly pays the price to become an icon, even though the costs are her own life and happiness. Everybody is in love with Marylin Monroe, but nobody is interested in the real Norma Jean. She is loved by so many and yet still alone, desperately looking for someone to love and who loves her back. It is a fictional biography, there are no heroes, no saviors, no good guys and no happy ending. That is why this fictional story feels too real.
The music, the edit, the effects, the cinematography and of course the actors are just amazing. Every scene is just mesmerizing, poetic and draws you into her world.
I understand many people are uncomfortable when confronted with unpleasant topics. That is just the reality we are all living in, people want to feel sorry for someone. But they don't want to look at it or want to know anything detailed about it. This masterpiece of is not a bad movie just because one does not want to look at the dark side of life.
Fresh (2022)
What a entertaining movie
The movie has a beautiful cinematography, it's suspenseful, and I hope the director will make more movies.
And for every person who didn't like this movie, I recommend watching The Human Centipede Trilogy. It's way better and has even more suspense. I promise you will enjoy those movies even more.
From (2022)
I am hooked
I believe in you guys from "Lost" Just let the production company pay for a white board, so you can write all of them mysteries on it. That way you don't forget them, and the viewer won't be left hanging with no resolution. Am I holding a "Lost" grudge??? Maybe 😂😂😂
It's an entertaining show. It's a horror show, there will be dead people (adults, adolescents and children) in it, obviously. There are mysteries in it too, and they made me curious. The suspense is killing me. What are the monsters? Where are the monsters? Why are there monsters? I really want to binge that show so badly.
I Care a Lot (2020)
I loved to hate her
She is the best villain I've seen in ages. She is so evil. I love Rosamund Pike.
I think if people would take this movie more metaphorically they would enjoy it more. Marla is not only a person maybe she is more a representation of the Guardian System and Roman is a representation of organized crime.
I recommend watching the documentary The Guardians right after that. Only if you can handle losing all hope.
Tiny Pretty Things (2020)
How and why???
It seems the dialogue is copied and pasted from I am 13 and this is deep.
If you dance in the dark, is it still called dancing???
If a ballerina falls and nobody is there to catch her, does she make a noise???
Do you think a ballerina dances better after she is raped???
Angry dancer: "I am soooooo angry because she/he did this and that. This and that will never happen again!!!" And the situations are solved with spontaneous dance-offs???
Don't anticipate I can see everything you're thinking???
I don't know what audience did they try to target with this?
Too much sex for a teen audience. But dialogue and plot are not good enough for an audience over the age of 13.
And why does everybody take their cell phone into the sauna?
Absolutely nothing in this show makes any sense.
They must have run out of ballet dancers because the dancing switched to contemporary for no reason.
Who read this script and said Wow!!! This is great, we should make a show out of it? Even though the season ended on a cliffhanger. Don't let them do it again!
Just rewatch Flesh and Bones.
La vie d'Adèle (2013)
Hmmm?!
3 hours and nothing happened. You could easily fit the story in a 90 minutes movie.
If someone would cut every scene without dialogue, completely silent scenes with only mouth close-ups, too many strange party scenes (close up of heads and ears, elbows), those annoying angles and shots ( 4 people standing around a table. 1 person is pouring wine the camera follows the bottle and films the pouring of the wine and 4 torsos), there were scenes where you could see only someone back because he took a seat in front of the camera.
I am not a fan of this camera work.
Maybe I shouldn't have watch this movie after I watched "Call me by your name"
Cursed (2020)
This series does not deserve the hate.
If you like Xena, Hercules, Legend of the Seeker, Discworld, or Merlin the 2008 series. There is a chance you will like this show too. If you don't like campy Fantasy you probably will not like it. It is not in the same league as GOT, LOTR, or Witcher.
It's cheesy, raunchy, steamy, and there is surprisingly a lot of blood and occasionally really dark. And I love it.
The show does not take itself seriously and neither should you.
You should have an open mind because there are Fairies, people with antlers, tusk, and horns, Witches, Wizards, Vampires, Werewolf-ish people, elemental Fae, Vikings, bascially the whole fantasy convention. But if a black person is too much for your fantasy world. This show is not for you. There are also lesbians in that series but the storyline makes perfect sense. It does not feel just thrown in there.
First, you don't know who is who. And slowly some of the characters' names are revealed. I know the story through and through but the little difference and twists in the story make it interesting and suspenseful. Because I wanted to know what changed and if they put everyone in this series. Maybe the people who read the book will not feel that way. I will definitely read the book now.
There is no evidence that King Arthur was real. You can not book a trip to visit the ruins of Camelot. There can't be any historical accuracy because nobody found any sources to this day.
I am an Artus Saga Fan and I read a lot of variations of this story this version feels fresh and new. I binged the whole season in two days and I hope there will be more seasons in the future.
Call Me by Your Name (2017)
This movie is so beautiful
It's so beautiful. I am so lucky I found this movie. The nature shots, the music, Oliver and Elio, the parents, and how they slowly build up their relationship so subtle, gentle, and yet sensual, this tiny village, everything felt so real and so heartfelt. This movie will make you love, cry and you want to spend your next vacation in that tiny town.
My heart broke with Elio's in the last scene. Even though you only see Elio crying for about 4 minutes. I was reminiscing with him. I fell so hard in love with this movie as Elio fell in with Oliver. I hope the same people get a chance to work on the sequel. I need to read that book and watch more of Luca Guadagnino's movies.
It's a wonderful love story. It feels like you get to know the characters Elio and Oliver at the same time as they get to know each other. I couldn't help to fall in love with them. Every scene in this movie builds the characters and their arcs. It is so wonderfully portrayed why Elio and Oliver feel so torn and drawn together at the same time.
I don't know if the languages are used as a tool to show how conflicted the situation feels for Elio. He speaks French with the girl, he speaks Italian with the locals, English when he can be himself with Oliver and his parents, and even a tiny bit in german when they have this intimate family bonding moment. Or maybe i interpret too much into it.
The music switches from classical to modern (80's) but it fits in every scene.
The Witcher (2019)
I totally love it.
I want longer episodes. I want twice as many episodes in the next season too
I want a better wig for Henry.
I want more male nudity. You know equality and stuff :) And i don't mean the wiener helmets with shriveled nuts armor :) I want that gone! How did nobody start to giggle and point out the armor?
Other than that, awesome show.
I am so happy that it turned out great. Merry Christmas :)
V-Wars (2019)
Finally... something good.
I am not a graphic novel reader so I just browsed through the first book.
I like the series more. I don't know if it is true to the origin.
It is really interesting because there are so many factions fighting each other humans, vampires, and government and the factions are split in good and bad.
The beginning and the vampires reminded me of 30 days of night. There is a little bit of True Blood because vampires are the outcast of society and the blood substitute "Blud Sub"
I hope there will be a second season.
If you like the sparkly vampire-boyfriend genre, you will not like this series.
Eli (2019)
I really liked it
It's a really good horror movie for teens. Maybe not for the delicate ones, because couple people (actually it is the majority of the main cast) die and there is a tiny bit blood. I am sure every teen has seen worse in a haunted house. If you are a parent and want to pre-watch the murder scene, it starts at 1h25m ish.
The acting is great, little Charlie's acted his heart out. The other actors were great too. But Charlie was the cutest.
I loved that they showed the parents drifting apart through imagery. Cool and warm undertones to intensify the mood of the scenes. There is always some kind of symmetry in the background which made the movie really appealing to me.
The plot is nothing new and the holy water injections therapy made me giggle.
It was really enjoyable, even for an experienced horror fan like me.
Wounds (2019)
Some wounds don't heal. They only get worse. Yeah, like some movies.
I couldn't spoil the plot, even if i wanted to. Because i don't know what the movie is about.
The beginning was kinda good.
A bar, only a few frequent guests, a bar fight and a guy (maybe a friend of the protagonist or just a regular guest idk) is getting stabbed in the face. They find the "evil" phone (as the movie trailer hinted). I thought the evilness of the phone caused the fight and the spooky spooky first "Wound"
But then it turned into some relationship drama with roaches. He is in a relationship, his ex-girlfriend too. He wants her back, she doesn't want him back. He casually breaks up with his girlfriend sitting at the table having breakfast. The morning after she gazed into a hole thingy on her laptop looking like a corpse and peed on a chair. A couple of roaches later he eats/inhales/absorbs the moldy facial wound from the guy who got stabbed. The end.
I still don't know what's with the evil phone or the hole thingy and the roaches. I only know why the movie is called "Wounds" because it's so stupid you will get brain damage. The acting is sometimes good, dialogues are bad, and it's not scary. Maybe for people who don't like roaches. It's not body horror, it's not mind-bending, there is no ghost/demon/supernatural entity, no reality - dream confusion.
Who reads that and says "Let's make a movie" Obviously it wasn't someone who watched a horror movie before.
The only scary thing was, that he sat on the pee chair then he sat on the couch, the next morning he wears the same pee-pants, he breaks up with his girlfriend and wanders off to the bar still in pee-pants.
After reading the short story, everything became so clear. 🤣 Apparently he is such a depraved person he drinks, cheats, gets angry and works as a bartender. That he needs and eventually wants to be saved by the cockroach-angels which use decapitated and then peeled heads or wounds in general as a portal and can communicate via cell phone.
I am not a fan of the story either, the descriptions are too much sometimes borderline pretentious. blood-spattered like a psychedelic Vulcano caught in mid-explosion, a berserker canary in a sky full of hawks, stabbed guy makes a high pitched noise that seemed to signal a transition into another state of being that seemed to carve this moment from the rational world and torn it separate. All this and Will booted up his video game console not an Xbox or PS. And the roaches are a swarm of christ bound spirits.
Battleship (2012)
Thunder!!! Thunder!!!
Come on, who rates less than 10 stars?!
It's an action movie and it is fun.
You are in for a treat if you like...
- awesome heroes walking in slo-mo towards the camera?
- stupid funny one-liners?
- real WW 2 veterans on a real WW2 battleship
- AC/DC and ZZ Top montages
if you like something deep and meaningful, don't watch it.
Russian Doll (2019)
I loved it!
I had to watch the show a second time to finally get it. Because the first time I watched the show I was too focused on supernatural things. I did not see all the metaphors hiding in plain sight.
The second time it finally hit me. There is no quantum universe or an evil timelord. The solution is so close to real life. It's not a groundhog day, she is addiction an he is depression and they die a little every day and both are spiraling down. Friends disappear, losing your possessions, you can't reflect or recognize yourself mirrors).
They added so many details. It's impossible to get them all in one go. I loved the soundtrack too. It fits the dark and gloomy essence of the show.
I can't wait for season 2.
Maybe people who are easily offended by drugs, sex, dark humor, addiction, and suicide will not like it. But everybody else should give it a try.
Love, Death & Robots (2019)
Awesome
My favorite episodes are :
Sonnie's edge (awesome monster fight), Three robots (cats aren't that evil, or are they), The Witness (animation looks stunning), Beyond the Aquila Rift (again awesome animation and eww... space-spider), Good hunting (who doesn't love steampunk), The Dump (aww it's kinda cute), Shape-Shifters (wolfies yeay), Lucky 13 (come on, you make me feel sad for a spaceship), Zima Blue (he is happy now, but why am I crying), The Secret War ( again awesome monster fight)
I think there is at least one episode for everyone. I think every gamer will enjoy the beauty of every episode. Every episode is art hyperrealism, surrealism, Chinese art, 2d animation. And somehow they manage to make you feel for a character or spaceship in 15 Minutes.
I can't wait for the second season.
If you are easily offended by violence and/or nudity this series is not for you.
Another Life (2019)
Netflix why???
I wonder why and how this show got through all the instances and nobody said anything.
It feels like the writers watched the one episode of Love, Death, and Robots "Beyond the Aquila Rift" and one episode of Star Trek to research "Space Stuff" and then desperately stretched it out to get 10 episodes.
The solutions to the problems they created are so incredibly stupid.
Human gets electrocuted in cable stuff - ship totally fine
Spacehamster nibbles on one cable - ship can't handle it
What is it with the A.I. Is it a hologram or not? How does hologram intercourse work?
Who sends a bunch of teenagers with highschool problems out to save the world?
I wonder if i get a tour through Area 51 when i beat a scientist who works there in a pop quiz?
It's not a Sci-Fi Drama it's a unintentionally funny Sci-Fi parody.
