Great Pretender (2020–2024)
6/10
Excited at First. Let Down In The End
15 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I had fun watching the first season of the show with it's interesting plot twists, characters, and the 3 cases they had. The 2nd season did the exact opposite with having a really drawn out case, characters not feeling like their first season selves especially Edamame, new one dimensional characters I don't care about, and really stupid choices in the story. A lot of it felt like they wanted to be Cowboy Bebop with scammers instead of bounty hunters. The intro, music choices, art style, and kinds of characters telling me that. Not that it's a bad thing as Cowboy Bebop is my favorite anime at the moment. My biggest complaint is the ending. Why did they bring back the villains to help the confidence men when they were robbed of their money? When Laurent mentioned they broke even with the $100 billion dollars, I can't help but think a lot of that money went back to Eddie, Sam, and Coleman. Making the first season completely pointless. If the first season only existed, I'd give Great Pretender a 8/10. With the second season, I can't help give it a 6/10.

I had fun with it
22 September 2021
I liked the characters, fight scenes, acting, music, and costumes. The story was predictable and half of the cgi looked cheap though.

Why
9 July 2020
My best friend talked about this movie to me awhile back and I couldn't believe that it was a real thing. And it really shouldn't be. All of the characters are one dimensional, stupid, and/or unlikable. All of the actors except for the asian girlfriend just didn't give a damn about their performances. The love interest sub plot was so forced and stupid. The practical effects were fine though. I like the original Banana Splits Show to an extent and this was hard to watch. Apparently it was going to be a movie based on Five Nights At Freddy's but the script was given to Warner Bros and we got this. I would've been more forgiving if it was it's own thing inspired by the FNAF game. It's not a movie to watch as a movie but more as a "what the hell was that?" feature

Missing Link (2019)
6/10
Beautifully animated but horribly average
14 June 2020
Missing Link is a beautifully crafted film that I never would've guessed was stop motion. The background and the details in them are breathtaking! The special effects and visuals are some of the best I've ever seen. Hugh Jackman and Zach Galifianakis were great as Sir Frost and Mr. Link. However, everything else falls flat. The story was unengaging and inconsistent, the jokes were hit or miss, and almost all of the characters feel one dimensional. The movie was so boring that me and my family were arguing about the character designs mostly the noses and I'm trying to see the flaws in the stop motion process where i saw very few. The heart of the movie is in the right place but the execution was a massive disappointment

Meh
14 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
What I like about this movie:
  • Dirt bike stunts
What I don't like about this movie:
  • Bad acting from just about everybody
  • Obvious CGI
  • Glaring plot holes (Why did AXL escape from the lab? Why doesn't AXL run on a better fuel source considering he is $70 million robot? Why didn't Miles' dad call the police when Miles was stranded in the middle of nowhere and not answering his phone?, etc)
  • Stupid forced love subplot
  • Cliche rich bad guy
  • Uninspired OST

A Disgrace To Its Source Material
29 February 2020
Like, what hasn't been said about this show? I barely even call it that since there's nothing to like about it. The animation is cheap looking, the plot for the episodes are non sensible, and the characters all suck and are a shell of their former selves. I feel bad for the voice actors who came back from the original series since it's evident that they're doing it for a quick buck. Like the cast for Spongebob with its series being milked to death. The only reason why it hasn't been cancelled yet is because of it's audience of younger kids tuning into it. I would've been more forgiving if it was it's own thing with no licensing to any established comic book characters. It just had to piggy back off of the success of another series and drive it down to a new level of despair. Shame on everyone in Cartoon Network HQ for giving the biggest middle finger to an older audience I've ever seen.

The Star Wars Sequels: The Biggest Cinematic Trainwreck I Ever Watched
25 December 2019
Almost everything that happened is complete and utter dog crap. Everything that happened in the first six films was for nothing, the overall story is a boring regurgitated rehash of the original trilogy, and the people at Disney should be ashamed of themselves. I didn't even want to go see this movie myself. My friend asked me if I wanted to go see it in theaters today and I went just to be nice. There were so many moments in the movie that made me angry for the wrong reasons, facepalm, and left my mouth wide open that I wanted to leave. Carrie Fisher's death was so disrespected in this film and they did nothing for Peter Mayhew who passed away earlier this year. There's so much more crap that I hate about this trilogy but it's 3:30 am as I'm writing this review, so I'm sleepy and don't want to write it out since it's already been said by many other people. What makes me hate this trilogy even more is that seeing The Force Awakens on it's premiere night was the final thing me and my uncle did together before he passed away a month later. I can't imagine him enjoying this either. I disown this trilogy and anyone like minded should do the same

Joker (I) (2019)
10/10
The best recent film I've seen in 10 years
17 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Before I begin my review, I want to say screw the media for slandering this film as if it'll cause mass shootings. It's rated R, so it's expected to have some adult content like blood and violence. The Joker is NOT A KID FRIENDLY VILLIAN. A lot of people lost sight of how evil and interesting the Joker can possibly be whether it's him paralyzing Batgirl and making Commisioner Gordon watch his daughter naked and bleeding to physically abusing Harley to carving off his own face no real reason. The movie has perfectly captured the Joker the best way it can. We see a struggling mentally ill man with hopes and dreams of being the greatest comedian ever to becoming a monster that the people of Gotham created. Joaquin Phoenix has done a phenomenal job of being "Arthur". The reason why I put quotations under his name because in the movie, the adoption papers has named him under "Unknown". I love the world that the movie has established as a rundown slum that "Arthur" is trapped in and you feel as if in that bad part of town that you want to escape from. All of the characters are great except I'm not so convinced about Bruce especially when his parents was killed in front of him. He showed no emotions of grief and anger. He just stood there. There are many ways to interpret what happened in the movie. Whether it all actually happened, some parts of the story were fake and exaggerated, or the entire story was all made up by The Joker who was trying to paint himself as a victim. I prefer the latter. Overall, I love everything in the film like the story, acting, editing, settings, soundtrack, and characters. It's good enough to be it's own movie that has nothing to do with DC. I hope they'll do a follow up film in the future.
