Saw (2004)
Oh come on... SHOOT HIM!!!
Saw: two men trapped in a room, with 6 hours left to save a family in a "Homo homini Lupus" situation. And a serial Killer who likes to play with his victims. A cop (Danny Glover) chasing him. Probably not the most original plot in the history, but still an intriguing one. The killer's riddles are very interesting and well acted, and the story has some moments. BUT, and I'm very very tired of this... for God sake, if you have the killer in front of you, and your shotgun points towards him... look at him! shoot him! this film is full of this stupid clichés, evident sign of a poor script! There are so many bloopers in the film that is very difficult to count them! And they aren't simple bloopers like Pulp Fiction's hamburger's bite, they are real script awful errors! Hollywood' thrillers have had a great time some years ago, and Saw tries to renew this times... but with no ideas. At all. But if you think that the 007 cliché "talk-before-kill", and all this stupid script solutions... you might enjoy it. But I would not be so proud of.
Troy (2004)
Homer who? Maybe Homer J Simpson, surely not the blind Homer!
Let's do me a favor: got o a library, and buy the Iliade by Omero, and then come back to a theatre and see this movie again. Exactly, nothing but the names! Helen survives and escapes Troy? Legol...ehm... Parides, a complete idiot? Achilles is Mortal? Where are the Gods! And Mr. Petersen, first hour of the film is nothing but a Vogue Cover, with Achilles or Helen with the wind through the hair.. my God! Do you know that Achille sand Patroclus were lovers? Not cousin! My God, it looks like an episode from Simpson's McBain "You killed my cousin!"
A Great movie, if you want to see "Vogue meets The Lord of the Ring", but if you want The Iliad or some Greek Epic, STAY AWAY!
4/10
Pinocchio (2002)
Cold and heartless
I think that Benigni's Pinocchio is, other then his worst film ever, his heartless film ever, cold, without an emotion, the prototype of what we call an "Americanata". And then there is Nicoletta Braschi. God. I'm sad because she is a good actress when she works with other directors but, hey, she doesn't even act! And benigni's voice, modified like a child... My question is one: Why make a movie about Pinocchio, well-known by everyone in Italy, if you don't have nothing to put in it, neither emotions or feelings, and why NOBODY in Italy tells the truth about Pinocchio! In our major Movie Magazine, critics put a 2 fo 5 to the movie, but still today, after 2 months, there isn't in Italy ONE NEGATIVE REVIEW about Pinocchio. They just don't say nothing, waiting for the Oscar. Maybe You, at the other side of the Ocean, don't know ONE think: Benigni's Pinocchioo is produced by our "Presidente del Consiglio Silvio Berlusconi" major, which also own this Movie Magazine, and is sad to see a man like Benigni who has always told the truth about the Power with a smile on his face, fall on his knees for the Money. Addio, Roberto.
