In the one-hour special, Robinson will share raw personal stories from the aftermath of two life-altering strokes as well as insight into his recovery and the challenges he’s faced while navigating his new disabilities. The comedian, who has kept people laughing for the last four decades, will continue to use his signature personal and brutally honest approach to this story.
“Coming up with the title Different Strokes was a ‘Stroke of Genius.’ Stupidity, mixed with Perseverance! I loved making this special and thanks to all who helped make this happen,” Robinson shared in a statement to Deadline.

Signature Entertainment has acquired the U.K. and Irish rights to Sylvester Stallone (“Tulsa King”) action thriller “Alarum” from Highland Film Group.
The feature is produced and financed by Convergence Entertainment Group (“Cash Out”) and is directed by Michael Polish (“Force of Nature”) from a script written by Alexander Vesha (“Deadly Impact”). The film stars Scott Eastwood (“Fast X”) and Stallone.
“Alarum” follows retired assassin couple Joe and Lara Travers, who are in hiding at a holiday resort in Belize when a plane crashes nearby. After retrieving a top-secret flash drive from the crash, the couple are pulled back into their shadowy past, fending off government operatives determined to retrieve the drive.
The deal was negotiated between Signature’s chief commercial officer Elizabeth Williams and Highland Film Group’s president of international sales Todd Olsson. Highland Film Group is handling international rights to the actioner.

Exclusive: Writer-director-producer Judd Apatow has left UTA, ending one of the most tenured relationships with a major filmmaker and a major agency.
Apatow spent 30 years at the agency, 20 of them with David Kramer, and he remains managed by Mosaic’s Jimmy Miller and lawyered by Ziffrin Brittenham. These long relationships often come to a close, usually when the client wants to shake things up at a moment when it is hard, particularly in the comedy space. It was amicable, and I hear he’ll be meeting with CAA and WME.
But this is a moment to tip the hat at how the agency helped Apatow build his brand, and how Apatow’s prolific successes were a major part of building UTA. There aren’t many tenured relationships that led to as much success as Apatow has had and how many careers he has launched in that time. That goes from...

The Fallout TV series has been out for less than two weeks, and already it is garnering considerable attention from casual viewers and hardcore fans alike. The positive reception of the show is undeniable, and Amazon Prime has already taken its victory lap with the recent announcement that a second season has been greenlit.
Although much can be said for the creative talents of Jonathan Nolan and Todd Howard who worked their magic behind the camera, they cannot take all the credit. Several exceptional actors brought new characters of the franchise to the next level, and it was Moisés Arias who truly stole the show for many. His portrayal of Norm MacLean and the journey taken to discover the secret behind Vault 31 was essential in setting the tone and building tension.
Since the show’s debut, I had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Arias about his experience on Fallout.

Set in an alternate version of Earth, the series takes place in the same desolate world as the original games. After advances in nuclear technology following World War II led to the emergence of a retrofuturistic society, an apocalyptic nuclear exchange wiped out Earth as the people of 2077 knew it. Those who could afford it hid in their Vault-Tec vaults. As for the rest of humanity, they were forced to confront the horrors of this new world head on. Now over 200 years after that war, one young Vault Dweller will risk it all and travel to the surface.
Wondering which antihero to root for in this sci-fi dramedy?...

Judd Apatow has directed such comedy films as The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up and Trainwreck, among others. Despite his recent The King of Staten Island and The Bubble going straight to streaming, he still believes comedy films have a place in theaters.

Barbie is “not a drama,” Apatow said. “There are some emotional moments in it, but it’s just wall-to-wall jokes. There’s something about it where I feel like no one wants to give comedy the win there. Like, why can’t we say Barbie is a comedy? What other category would it be?”

We live in an era where we all know exactly what “content” means – or, rather, what it has transformed into. But is it something that is harmful to the industry as a whole or do the benefits outweigh that? Well, Judd Apatow has a few things to share…
Apatow gave his thoughts on the relation between the penny-pinching ways of studios and the seemingly constant passing back and forth of programs due to contracts that limit when a movie/TV show is available to stream on any given platform. “It’s a scary thing as a creator of television, because of all the streamers going, ‘Wait a second. After he canceled his comedy shows in New York at the last minute, comedian and actor Pete Davidson sparked concerns about his mental health as he’s reported to have displayed volatile behaviour during filming of his new movie.
Per In Touch’s report, the “Saturday Night Live” alum recently had an outburst on the set of his movie “Riff Raff”. He allegedly went off on a paparazzo who had been tailing him while he’s at work.
A source told the outlet that a lone photographer had been stalking the New Jersey set for hours, hoping to get a glimpse of Pete and his co-stars, Bill Murray and Ed Harris.
While he’s no stranger to the kind of attention, the 30-year-old apparently grew irritated because the paparazzo wouldn’t leave the set, reports aceshowbiz.com.
That’s when Davidson allegedly tried to take matters into his own hands.

“The King of Staten Island” is a movie directed by Judd Apatow starring Pete Davidson.
An autobiographical comedy about Pete Davidson’s life that, more than being a biopic, flows like a natural and simple story, shining in its performances not only by Davidson but also by outstanding supporting actors such as Marisa Tomei, Bill Burr, and Steve Buscemi.
Good dialogues, excellent performances in a biopic that, for once, doesn’t feel like a biopic and skillfully utilizes a solid script to create a remarkable comedy.
It’s the type of film that leaves you with a perpetual smile throughout, while also telling the story of a young man and his environment.
And yes, Davidson is fantastic in portraying himself in a movie about his own life, an opportunity not everyone gets.
And he makes the most of it.

Pete Davidson is just as proud of his mom as she is of him. Since making his "Saturday Night Live" debut in 2014, the comedian has spoken out about his childhood on numerous occasions and has included his mom, Amy Waters Davidson, in episodes of "SNL" among other things. Pete was born on Nov. 16, 1993, to Amy, a school nurse, and Scott Davidson, a New York City firefighter who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks when the comedian was just 7 years old.

There’s a new horror film called The Home coming our way from The Purge franchise creator James DeMonaco – and Deadline reports that Lionsgate has picked up the U.S. distribution rights to the film with the plan to give it a theatrical release sometime in early 2024.
Scripted by DeMonaco and Adam Canto, The Home sees Pete Davidson (Saturday Night Live) taking on the role of Max, a troubled man who starts working at a retirement home and realizes its residents and caretakers harbor sinister secrets. As he investigates the building and its forbidden fourth floor, he starts to uncover connections to his own past and upbringing as a foster child.

Exclusive: Lionsgate has closed a U.S. deal for The Home, the James DeMonaco-directed thriller that stars Pete Davidson. The film was made be Miramax, and it screened for buyers outside competition at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival in the Industry Selects category that the festival started to highlight commercial films.
If you’ve been scoring from home, this goes down as another deal from TIFF 2023. After a slow start, the festival has led to a wellspring of film deals, one of the fest’s strongest showings in years.
The deal closed after the exit last week of Miramax CEO Bill Block, who made the film and placed it at TIFF. On the Lionsgate side was Charlotte Koh, EVP Acquisitions and Co-Productions, along with the film’s producers, Block and Sebastian K. Lemercier. Look for this one to get a theatrical release in the early part of 2024.

I remember hearing Judd Apatow say he cast his daughter, Maude Apatow, in The King of Staten Island because it gave him partial excuse to spend time with her in the middle of an active period of her life where she was often away. I’m going to assume this was basically the entire impetus behind Ethan Hawke and his daughter Maya’s film collaboration Wildcat, as there’s going to be a lot of ‘splainin’ to do––sinking to the level of Marvel’s Moon Knight is no longer Hawke’s greatest crime against the moving image.
Upon opening with a deeply unfunny fake trailer for a hothouse ’60s melodrama about the film’s subject, Flannery O’Connor, my heart sank. Wildcat is a film of one misguided choice after another, the difficulty in articulating the creative process through non-corny means leading Hawke down a path straying from conventional drama,...

While we continue to wait to hear if The Purge franchise creator James DeMonaco is going to have the opportunity to make The Purge 6 (last we heard, he was sounding confident that the sequel is going to happen), DeMonaco has been hard at work on another horror project, The Home. First discussed in 2021, that film stars Pete Davidson (Saturday Night Live) – and the Motion Picture Association ratings board has just revealed that The Home has earned an R rating for strong bloody violence and gore, language and some sexual content.
The film doesn’t have a release date yet, but now that it has a rating its release shouldn’t be too far off.
Scripted by DeMonaco and Adam Canto, The Home sees Davidson taking on the role of Max, a troubled man who starts working at a retirement home and realizes its residents and caretakers harbor sinister secrets. As...
