- "It's fun to move from one house to another, that way we have lots of homes!" Parisian lookout boat captain Jean tries to sell his three children their precarious situation as an adventure. However, his eldest daughter Nina, who is about to take her mock exams, prefers to run off to a friend's house straight away. She is fed up with her father's messed-up plans. Because the truth is that everything has really gone off the rails for Jean since his wife separated from him. Not only has his landlady thrown him out on the street for rent arrears and illegal subletting, but his boss has once again caught Jean drinking and promptly demoted him to first officer. As well as a blow to Jean's ego, this also means a significant loss of pay. In the end, the family man and his children find temporary accommodation in the flat of his goddaughter, who has just been away. But to her surprise, her best friend, the young, unsuccessful musician Victor, has already taken up residence there. In addition to inspiration for his songs, Victor also lacks a place to sleep, a job and money. When it quickly becomes clear that neither of them is prepared to leave the field, they have to come to an arrangement. And soon the two of them are even making plans together to deal with their lack of money. But when Jean is suspended from work after an incident, even his pretty colleague Judith, who is obviously interested in him, can no longer help him. He not only risks losing his job, but also custody of his children. Will Jean still be able to free himself from his downward spiral in this situation?
