Paul Walker could have been cast as Clark Kent, the Man of Steel. The late actor’s manager, Matt Luber, and stunt double, Oakley Lehman, revealed in the 2018 documentary I Am Paul Walker that the Fast & Furious star walked away from a multi-million dollar deal.
Luber said in the doc, which recently aired on The CW, that Walker “was screen testing for Superman,” adding, “I think it was a $10 million deal, and he was the frontrunner.”
Lehman, who was also Walker’s childhood friend, said the actor “was up for it” and “knew he was thinking about doing it.”
“I knew he did not want to do three or four Superman [films] and be Superman for the rest of his life,” Lehman continued.
According to Luber, Walker was auditioning for the superhero role and donning the Superman costume when the actor decided it was not for him.

Paul Walker’s brothers Caleb and Cody helped finish the production of “Furious 7” following Paul’s tragic death, and the two say they would offer the same help should the brains behind the franchise want to bring Paul’s character, Brian O’Conner, back in either of the next two installments. Paul’s scenes were completed in “Furious 7” after his death by superimposing his face over Caleb and Cody’s bodies.
“I just hope we get to — I don’t know — have a little cameo and bring Paul back to save the day and I get to help create that again,” Caleb recently told the AP. “That’s my dream and I hope we get to do that in one of the future movies.”

The doc features appearances by Fast and Furious actor Tyrese Gibson and director Rob Cohen, director Wayne Kramer, family members Cody Walker, Caleb Walker, Ashlie Walker, Cheryl Walker, and Paul Walker III; Oakley Lehman, Dr. Michael Domeier, plus his manager Matt Luber. Back in 2013, Neal Moritz and Furious 7 director James Wan found themselves facing a tricky conundrum when series stalwart Paul Walker (Brian O’Connor) tragically passed away during production on Universal’s blockbuster sequel.
Soon after things ground to a halt, Wan and his braintrust pulled together to make the best out of a very bad situation, and the end result was the blockbuster’s bittersweet finale, one in which Vin Diesel’s on-screen petrolhead Dominic Toretto rides alongside Walker’s fan-favorite one last time, before a fork in the road takes each vehicle – and, by effect, each driver – in opposite directions to the tune of Wiz Khalifa’s moving “See You Again.”
It was a beautiful, emotional send-off for both Brian O’Connor and Paul Walker’s legacy, opening up a relatively blank slate for Straight Outta Compton‘s F. Gary Gray, who took the reins on The Fate of the Furious...
