- TriviaWhen the Jupiter 4 is about to launch, the launch pad lights are lighting up in a circular pattern. This is exactly how the launch pad lights lit up in the first episode of the original series.
- GoofsIn their efforts to reach the Resolute, which is still orbiting the planet, Maureen, the space engineer, says that they have to "reach escape velocity" and "hit escape velocity", when in both cases it's orbital velocity that they need to hit, once above the atmosphere. None of the space pilots mention the error either. Escape velocity is higher, an indicates the energy required to completely get out of a gravity well an into free space.

[first lines]
Maureen Robinson: You sure you can get us back without a map?
John Robinson: [sarcastically] Hey, come on. Obviously, I memorized and studied the topography before we left.
Maureen Robinson: [sighs] If I didn't know better, I would think you were trying to impress me.
John Robinson: Maybe I am.

After last week's fuel debacle, the Robinson patriarchs arrive back at camp just in time to stop Victor blasting off with his family (in fairness, he's intending to send back help). Determining that Victor's ship wouldn't have enough fuel to make it to outer space anyway, Maureen comes up with a plan. Strip out everything from a ship that doesn't need to be there and blast off what remains, with a single pilot, and everything else monitored from the ground. Meanwhile, Judy tells the rest of her family that Dr Smith is not Dr Smith, so they lock her in a cupboard on their ship until they can make it back to the mothership, but is one of the family gullible enough to be talked into letting her out?
I actually kinda enjoyed this one. It dragged the focus back on to the family, and the interactions between them and Don West were fun. (Please don't push a relationship between Don and Judy though... still too much). I, believed in the science, sort of... even if I'm not convinced that being knocked out over and over again doesn't have a cumulative negative effect on someone.
The ending of the episode is a bit of an odd one, and I really can't see them going forward without retconning it somehow in the next episode (the episode title also suggests they might). But with the leash finally off for Dr.Smith and two episodes left, things are ramping up.
