The mystery deepens as Cheryl becomes (seemingly everyone's) bargaining chip. 'Jane Doe' is at its best during the jail scenes that feature Dreamland's backup band, but it's entertaining throughout, thanks to excellent dialogue and Lana's disastrous stand-up routine ("a solid 30 minutes on syphilis"). Best of all, it leaves me wanting more.

I've gone through the season a few times now, and this is my favorite episode specifically because of the back-and-forth among Ray and his backup band. Cenac, Key and Pierce are in rare form.
