Another new “Star Wars” series has arrived on Disney+, but this one is different. “Andor” is set years before the events of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and follows the exploits of Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor, but in contrast to the previous live-action shows like “The Mandalorian” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” this is a decidedly grounded and gritty take on the “Star Wars” universe – and one completely devoid of Jedi and Sith and bounty hunters. In short, it’s a “Star Wars” story set in a new pocket of the universe, about real people struggling with the very real oppression of the Empire.
Luna anchors the ensemble but there’s an impressive cast of characters that show up in the first few episodes, and no doubt many more to come throughout the 12-episode first season. Check out our complete “Andor” cast and character guide below.

With a significant number of Americans in the dangerous sway of a well-disseminated illusion, any stories that help us understand the psychology behind believing a con artist, and why such lies work, become a little more valuable in this day and age.
The tale of British sociopath Robert Freegard’s wreckage is one of those jaw-droppers you can’t help but want to parse, but it’s been turned into the only mildly illuminating, dimly effective thriller “Rogue Agent,” starring James Norton as Freegard, and Gemma Arterton as a lawyer who falls under his spell.
Netflix subscribers whose algorithms push scam-driven titles to the forefront will already be aware of Freegard from this year’s three-part documentary “The Puppet Master,” which grimly recounted his persuasive schemes, and the shattered victims his masquerades left behind. The fourth film in “The Trip” franchise, “The Trip to Greece,” starring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon and directed by Michael Winterbottom, has been acquired for U.S. distribution by IFC Films, IFC announced Friday. The distributor is planning a summer 2020 release.
This comes as no surprise, as IFC Films has released all three of the previous movies in “The Trip” franchise, including the original from 2010, “The Trip to Italy” in 2014 and “The Trip to Spain” in 2017.
Coogan and Brydon — who play themselves in the scripted travel-themed film series — reunite yet again for more meals with expensive, gourmet dishes along with more conversation and more impressions of British luminaries.
Here’s the official synopsis:

Fans of Michael Winterbottom’s “The Trip” series can start celebrating, as Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan are planning a fourth installment in the increasingly popular comedy franchise. Brydon took to his social media pages on January 16 to share a photo himself and Coogan reunited. The caption reads: “Lunch with a friend to discuss ‘The Trip To Greece.'”
Coogan teased as much at the end of 2018 when he appeared on a December episode of “Off Camera With Sam Jones.” While on the podcast to promote his starring role opposite John C. Reilly in “Stan & Ollie,” Coogan let it slip that a fourth “Trip” movie was in the early stages of development. As Coogan said, “We’re doing another trip next year, which is ‘The Trip To Greece.'”

The final days of the classic comedy team Laurel & Hardy are brought to life by Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly in Stan & Ollie.
Widely considered one of the greatest comedy teams of all time, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy are the subject of the new film Stan & Ollie, which chronicles the pair’s 1953 tour of U.K. variety halls to perform their classic skits live. Hardy (John C. Reilly) is suffering from poor health, while Laurel (Steve Coogan) struggles to keep the tour and their show afloat. The team’s golden years -- in which they appeared in some 107 films, both shorts and features -- are behind them and their partnership has become more fragile than ever, but as they say, the show must go on.

“The Crown” won only one of its three races at the 2018 BAFTA TV Awards on May 13 when Vanessa Kirby claimed the supporting actress prize for her riveting portrayal of Princess Margaret. While this lavish historical drama had taken home three BAFTAs at last month’s TV Craft Awards, it was bested here for Drama Series by another period piece, “Peaky Blinders.” And although Claire Foy has already collected a Golden Globe and SAG Award for capturing the essence of Queen Elizabeth II, she lost Best Drama Actress to Molly Windsor who won for the docudrama “Three Girls,” which was named Best Miniseries. Like death and taxes, sequels are an unavoidable fact of modern life. But unlike death and taxes, sequels aren’t always terrible. On the contrary, some of them are pretty great! The last 17 years have been so overrun by sequels, reboots, seboots, and requels that people have naturally continued to bemoan the film business’ lack of creativity, but a small handful of these movies have leveraged their franchises (and/or their pre-existing fanbases) to create something special.
Whether deepening a beloved character (“Spider-Man 2”), deconstructing a sacred saga (“The Last Jedi”), or breathing fiery new life into a dormant legend (“Mad Max: Fury Road”), these sequels proved that Hollywood isn’t out of new ideas, they’re just hiding them in plain sight.
