Netflix and Dark Horse Entertainment have inked a multi-year, first-look film and TV deal extending their creative partnership, at the same time announcing the launch of development on two new projects—a film titled Bang! and a series called Mind Mgmt.

Valiant is once again relaunching some of its core titles, including Ninjak, one of its original 1990s heroes.
But after a reboot only three years ago, how does one make a spy action-thriller feel fresh and essential? By making it feel like the book is being written right off of current international headlines and having some of the coolest art around (see the 7-page preview below).
Writer Jeff Parker and artist Javier Pulido are putting the character, a master spy-ninja-freelance operative for MI6 who goes by the name of Colin King, into political intrigue and action when he becomes a secret ...

Netflix has scooped up the rights to the Boom! Studios comic series “Brzrkr,” and will first be adapting the series, created and written by Keanu Reeves and New York Times-bestselling writer Matt Kindt, into a live-action feature film, starring and produced by Reeves. This will be followed by an anime spinoff series.
“Brzrkr,” according to the streamer, is a brutally epic saga about an immortal warrior’s 80,000-year fight through the ages. The man known only as “B” is half-mortal and half-god, cursed and compelled to violence… even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the earth for centuries, B may have finally found a refuge — working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, B will be granted the one thing he desires — the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence…and how to end it.

Here comes a new challenger to the live action super hero genre, and it’s got over 20 years of source material. Come in and check out the first trailer, fresh from Nycc.
Now Valiant comics was founded in 1989 by creator Jim Shooter. Through out the years they’ve produced such comics as Archer and Armstrong, Xo Manowar, Bloodshot, Magnus Robot Fighter, Solar, Turok, this list goes on and on and it’s full of great story telling. Well now they have teamed with one of my favorite creators Bat in the Sun who produce the very popular Super Power Beatdown series to bring you Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe.
So the series stars some of my favorites. That’s Michael Rowe playing Ninjak who you should remember as Deadshot from Arrow. Also the duo of Archer and Armstrong are in there and I see one of my favorite actor Kevin Porter...

Rai #10 hits stands this week and you should buy it, but I want to skip doing a 1500 word review on a single comic this time and just focus on one part, probably because I’m Japanese.
Rest assured, Matt Kindt is still killing it all around and Clayton Crain is putting out one of the most visually unique and interesting books to look at that’s currently out — but I just want to talk about Sakura Swords of Faith.
The tree, which looks like a cherry blossom, famously Sakura in Japan, is the only symbol of life or beauty we see on desolate wasteland of a earth. In what could be a completely cold book, a kind of typical an familair dystopic science fiction setting and palette, Crain has been able to offer us signs of life. If not a warmth, than at least the possibility of hope for it.

Full disclosure, I don’t go to boutiques to buy anything anymore (okay, okay, I bought Book of Death: Legends of the Geomancer), not even for free, so Free Comic Book Day is kind of lost on me but I do understand that publishers may be under the impression that it is worthwhile so I do loosely monitor what’s coming out for Fcbd so I don’t miss anything that would cause me to not have… you know… everything related to what I like.
There’s a lot of cool things in the Fcbd offering from Valiant, fun stuff both pimping what’s coming and honoring the past and it was really well put together too, but I want to focus on just one part of what they are calling the Valiant 25th Anniversary Special, specifically the Bloodshot short story in it called “The Dream”, written by Bloodshot Reborn...
