What an Atrocity
This show really tries hard but it has a hard time being even moderately entertaining. First and foremost from an entertainment standpoint it is pretty heinous. It is so quick to the draw with all of its social commentary and addressing race that it forgets to be a real show. Overall it feels more like someones very minimalist view of race relations in modern day America. Ungracefully presented to a degree of tripping over itself and sometimes contradicting its message. That is assuming it has an actual message to convey, and isn't just trying to cash in on a touchy subject. It is meant to paint white people in a negative light which is understandable, however it also manages to offend every other race included in the material. Of course this would be excusable if it was funny or made a good satire about how things are in reality, but it fails so hard to achieve anything that it just comes off as racist and unsavory. A progressive show is very welcome in this day and age, especially on Comedy Centeral. On top of that we as viewers are willing to accept a lot of creative freedom to let hard topics be addressed in many ways and make headway on things. But even with all of that foundation and allowance this show doesn't manage to get its head above water in any fashion.
