- TriviaThis continues the Hollywood urban legend about life insurance payouts and taking your own life. In every state a life insurance policy will pay out even if the cause is taking your own life, as long as the policy has been in force two years. Up until 2015 Missouri was a unique state in that there was no incontestable period at all; this was changed to two years at that time.
- GoofsThe Byrdes' van pulls into the Dermody Real Estate driveway a right turn from W. Pike Street and proceeds to park next to the office. Neither Marty nor Wendy is seen in the vehicle and it is probably populated by stand-ins. The off-screen entry dialogue is dubbed. In the vehicle, looking from the passenger's side at Marty out through the driver's window the background is only foliage. The actual view would have been of a parking lot out to a two-lane one-way highway with no foliage. When the view is shifted from the driver's side to Wendy, again there is foliage but no office building. This dialogue scene was shot at a different location, probably what will be the Byrdes' new residence. When Wendy storms out of the vehicle she turns and goes towards the rear away from the office door which is just to the front of their vehicle. Once Wendy is in the office and after Marty has departed, Sam's blue station wagon is seen parked outside. When they pulled in there were no vehicles parked at the office.
- Quotes
Martin 'Marty' Byrde: [pondering out loud] Why does she get so many texts every night? Why does she have to leave the room to make a call? I wonder who's fucking my wife? So that's my bad. And, no, I, I don't forget Gary. I don't forget how you emptied our bank accounts when you knew I needed that money, Wendy. You knew I needed it. And I doubt very, very much that you did that by yourself, that you did that in a vacuum. So my memory's crystal clear. I was there. For all of it. In fact, the satisfying sound of your lover smacking the pavement is the only thing that gets me to sleep every night. Open the goddamn door!
Wendy Byrde: [slaps then punches him]
