Los Angeles, Nov 23 (Ians) Former model Sheila Kennedy has sued Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose for alleged sexual assault and battery. According to her lawsuit, the popular rock musician attacked her during a violent hotel room encounter in New York in 1989.
Kennedy was diagnosed with anxiety and depression due to the alleged assault, the lawsuit says.
Kennedy seeks damages from Rose for intentional affliction of emotional distress and gender motivated violence, her lawsuit says. Her attorneys have requested a jury trial, reports bbc.com.
The lawsuit was filed in New York Supreme Court days before the expiration of a law that allows sexual assault survivors to file lawsuits against their alleged attackers, no matter when the original statute of limitations expired.
Kennedy said in her complaint that she was a 26-year-old model for Penthouse magazine when she met Rose in a New York City nightclub in early 1989.

The Pretenders are back with their new album Relentless.
Relentless, The Pretenders’ follow-up to 2020’s Hate for Sale, was produced by multiple Grammy Award-nominee David Wrench at London’s Battery Studios. Along with bandleader Chrissie Hydne, the album features performances from Kris Sonne (drums), Chris Hill (double bass), Dave Page (bass), and Carwyn Ellis (keyboards and guitars), as well as a track featuring Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead.
“I enjoy seeing the various meanings and origins of a word,” Hynde said of the album’s title in a press release. “And I liked the definition: ‘showing no abatement of intensity.’ So when it came to an album title, it seemed fitting. You know…to keep doing it. I think anyone in a band is constantly questioning if they should keep going. It starts as a youthful pursuit and eventually, it makes you wonder, why am I doing this? It’s the life of the artist.

In the last five years, Rita Ora has seemingly been everywhere: in the tabloids, as a panelist on The Masked Singer, a coach on The Voice Australia, in a handful of film roles including a supporting stint in Pokémon Detective Pikachu and collaborating on a smattering of singles with artists like Kygo, David Guetta and Tiësto. So it’s almost hard to imagine that her last album, Phoenix, was released in 2018. Ora’s name has remained on everyone’s lips—she’s made sure of it.

Tales of hardened, violent loners picking up lively, younger traveling companions are certainly having a moment. Whether it's "The Last of Us," "The Mandalorian," "The Witcher," or a movie like "The Gray Man," they seem to be every which way you turn in the world of streaming these days. It's nothing new, of course. Writer Kazuo Koike and artist Goseki Kojima helped shape the mold for these types of stories when they launched "Lone Wolf and Cub" in 1970. Even people who've never read their incredibly influential manga series (nor seen any of its adaptations in other media) know exactly what you mean when you describe something as having "Lone Wolf" vibes.
Speaking on the official podcast for "The Last of Us" season 1, episode 6, "Kin," co-creator Neil Druckmann talked a little about his own inspirations while directing the original Naughty Dog video game franchise that inspired HBO's widely acclaimed (and relentlessly feel-bad) post-apocalyptic prestige series.

This article contains mild Knock at the Cabin spoilers.
“Don’t you look away.”
That’s the one command a soon-to-be-executed man makes before he sacrifices himself in an attempt to prevent the apocalypse in Knock at the Cabin, the latest from director M. Night Shyamalan. It’s grim stuff, but nasty, ludicrous premises such as these have become the norm for Shyamalan, especially over the past decade. Ever since the once vaunted director’s Hollywood career stalled with famous flops The Last Airbender and After Earth, Shyamalan has found his footing again with a series of nasties, including the found-footage cheapie The Visit and the wonderfully ridiculous Old.
Despite what Newsweek proclaimed in a 2002 cover story (timed with the release of Signs), Shyamalan never became the next Steven Spielberg, especially when the genuine article is still making excellent movies well into his 70s. Instead Shyamalan has become something else—and something far more interesting.

The idea of being yourself is daunting enough some days, but finding out that there’s another person in the mirror looking back at you, that essentially Is you, is even worse since it indicates that your life is being observed by another version of yourself that might not approve. Maria starts as a rather neurotic individual that doesn’t have a lot of friends and is bullied at school, sometimes even by the one friend she has. Her life is, needless to say, kind of pathetic since even her parents are a mess given that her father, a plastic surgeon that

Every year there seems to be more original and fantastic films. So it’s great to watch something like Look Away with no idea what it is about and no expectations; because more often than not, I’m impressed.
Look Away is one of those clever films that clearly has plenty of influences and it wears those influences on its sleeve but still manages to feel very fresh. Those influences mainly coming of age movies, from Carrie to Ginger Snaps to Let The Right One In – you can probably see the link. There...

It is a girl called Airam and she is able to communicate back. Airam is initially supportive towards Maria, who has become increasingly withdrawn, and offers her a solution to her torment. While Look Away might dive into a lot of teenage-minded subjects, the themes of isolation and insecurity at the center of the psychological thriller’s narrative are easily relatable to anyone at any age. Starring India Eisley as the film’s protagonist Maria, we watch as the awkward and overly shy teen grapples with her identity when she decides to let her doppelgänger take control of her life, which ends up resulting in some tragic circumstances.

"Why are you doing this!?" Vertical Entertainment has released an official trailer for a horror thriller film titled Look Away, the latest feature from director Assaf Bernstein (of The Debt). The twisty, not-so-clever concept involves a disconnected, insecure high school teen who switches places with her "supportive, but evil, twin that she discovers in the mirror's reflection." Who then acts out on other impulses and feelings. Look Away stars India Eisley as Maria and "Airam", as well as Jason Isaacs, Mira Sorvino, Harrison Gilbertson, Penelope Mitchell, Adam Hurtig, and Kristen Harris. Looks like it will all play out exactly as expected, of course she's going to learn her lesson. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Assaf Bernstein's Look Away, direct from YouTube: A lonely 18-year-old high schooler named Maria (India Eisley) opens up to her reflection because of the lack of support she has from family and her peers.

Director Assaf Bernstein wrote and directed the thriller The Debt in 2007. This title was remade for U.S. markets in 2010. Bernstein's U.S. film debut is the psychological thriller Look Away. Originally titled Behind the Glass, this film looks at an isolated, young woman and her desire for something more. When she turns to a dark, inner voice, Maria finds herself in a new, violent world. As well, Look Away stars: India Eisley (Underworld: Awakening), Mira Sorvino (Mimic), and Jason Isaacs (A Cure for Wellness). The film's early release details and trailer are available here. In a 2016 interview with Deadline, Bernstein mentioned that the idea for Look Away was developed when he was a child. In the interview he also talks about the pivotal role of Maria: "the double role of Maria/Airam is an amazingly powerful, rare and dynamic role (Deadline)." Bernstein also states that the role of the father is dark and enigmatic.
