The 47-year-old True Blood actor and the 33-year-old Winning Time actress were spotted going to the gym for a workout on Wednesday (January 24) in Venice, Calif.
Just a couple days earlier, Joe‘s ex-wife Sofia Vergara made some rare public comments about why they broke up.

Actress Sofia Vergara has unapologetically said her ‘giant’ chest opened doors to stardom. The actress told Spanish newspaper El Pais about her looks being the passport to fame: “It would be absurd to deny it or for that to make me feel bad. My giant b**bs and my body opened doors for me; they were my passport to the world when I was 20 years old when I started as a model, but today I’m 51 years old and I’m still here.”
Sofia added: “I don’t do brain surgery, it’s just entertainment, and the worst that can happen to me is that they can say I look ugly or that this jackass doesn’t know how to act. I can take it.
“There are women who are prettier, younger, who have bigger breasts and a better body than me, but I’m still around because I have demonstrated that I can stay.

A new year is around the corner, and Netflix is ready to celebrate! The streamer has released its full list of titles that will be coming to its platform to start 2024 off right, including classics and library hits, such as the first three films in the “John Wick” franchise, Train to Busan, and more.
The bulk of Netflix’s new titles, though, comes from its own original series, films, comedy specials, documentaries, and animes. Holiday episodes are always a treat when watching sitcoms – it gives viewers the opportunity to see how their favorite characters handle the unique stressors of the season. New Girl didn’t quite have a Thanksgiving episode every year of its seven season run, but the five episodes that the show produced are truly some of the series’ best.
With moments like Schmidt’s (Max Greenfield) Bangsgiving, Jess (Zooey Deschanel) trying to “Parent Trap” her divorced parents, and the crew discovering a dead body, it’s hard to choose which episode tops the others, and yet that’s exactly what we’ve done. Here are all of the New Girl Thanksgiving episodes ranked.
5. “Thanksgiving”
Season 1 Episode 6
“Thanksgiving” isn’t a bad episode by any means, but as only the sixth episode of the series, it’s very clear that this is the loft crew’s first holiday get-together. Character personalities and...

On Friday nights, IndieWire After Dark takes a feature-length beat to honor fringe cinema in the streaming age.
First, the spoiler-free pitch for one editor’s midnight movie pick — something weird and wonderful from any age of film that deserves our memorializing.
Then, the spoiler-filled aftermath as experienced by the unwitting editor attacked by this week’s recommendation.
The Pitch: Is That a Meat Cleaver in Your Pocket — or Are My Parents Just Happy to See Me?
“What were they before they were leftovers?” That’s the dramatic meat hook on which Bob Balaban hangs his giddily middling 1989 horror comedy “Parents,” a surrealist satire set in 1950s suburbia, best likened to a chunky jello mold filled with human toes. I’ll admit, I wouldn’t serve cannibalism cinema this underbaked to mixed company; let alone the hubby’s new boss and his one-scene-having wife. But for the IndieWire After Dark family during ’80s Week,...

Spanish filmmaker Félix Viscarret, known for tackling such heavy subject matter as the Basque conflict (“Patria”), crime in the Cuban capital Havana (“Four Seasons in Havana: Winds of Lent”) and psychological drama (“Staring at Strangers”), has made perhaps his most personal film yet with a touching and engrossing story of fatherhood and the pitfalls of success.
In “Not Such an Easy Life,” 40-year-old Isaías (Miki Esparbé), a once promising young architect, is struggling to balance career and family, wanting to raise his young children while desperate to achieve the fleeting professional success he once enjoyed as he strives against more ambitious rivals.
For Viscarret, Isaías’ challenges very much reflect his own experiences, which resulted in “Not Such an Easy Life.”
“Perhaps it was a cluster of special situations that I began to live with as a parent,” he tells Variety.
“For example, one day I saw all my childless friends leave for a premiere party,...

Dotdash Meredith, which publishes People, Better Homes & Gardens and InStyle, will lay off 7 percent of its employees.
In a memo sent to staff Thursday, CEO Neil Vogel said the cuts were coming as the publisher was impacted by the “broader challenges of the ad industry and of the economy as a whole.” The layoffs will impact 274 people across almost every department
The company was formed after Barry Diller’s Iac-subsidiary Dotdash acquired magazine publisher Meredith in 2021 in a 2.7 billion deal. In 2022, the company ceased the print publication of six titles, including Entertainment Weekly, InStyle, Health, EatingWell and Parents, which led to the elimination of 200 jobs, largely around the print operations.
Vogel cited the current layoffs as part of the plan to continue the company’s momentum amid “economic uncertainty.” Iac is scheduled to report its fourth-quarter earnings on Feb. 14.

Iac executives gave more color on how they view the print magazine business Wednesday, following the company’s decision to end several print issues in its portfolio, including Entertainment Weekly, InStyle, Health, EatingWell and Parents.
The company, which acquired these titles through its acquisition of Meredith Corp. in 2021, cut the print editions of these publications in February 2022, while maintaining print editions of titles such as Food & Wine and Better Homes & Gardens. Remaining print editions have seen upgrades to their products, including the paper quality, and are now viewed as “a little bit more of a luxury good,” intended to help with branding, according to DotDash Meredith CEO Neil Vogel, who runs this segment.
“We said when we bought this thing, that we were going to approach print differently,” Vogel said on the investor call Wednesday. “And I think what print can be for us,...

Actor/filmmaker Bob Balaban made his directorial debut with this underseen gem of childhood fear and suburban horror. 1989’s Parents isn’t the first horror film to use the setting of middle class America to study the rot that hides underneath, but it is a particularly eerie and bleakly funny one. The story is simple: little Michael […]

Co-parenting has its challenges. In a new interview for Parents magazine's April 2022 issue, Drew Barrymore was asked about the hardest part of co-parenting. "You miss them when you're apart," the actress said about her daughters Olive, 9, and Frankie, 7, whose dad is Barrymore's ex-husband Will Kopelman, "because that wasn't the plan." However, Barrymore acknowledged there can be an upside, too, like: "Both parents get a day off." Throughout the interview, Barrymore gave glimpses inside her family's private world, including a parenting win ("getting my daughter Olive to help me load and unload the dishwasher")...

The 2019-2020 NBA season hadn't been Stephen Curry's ideal, but, off the court, his personal life still couldn't be sweeter. When he and his wife of more than eight years, Ayesha Curry, got married, "I was 23; she was 22," the three-time NBA champion told Parents magazine in 2016. "But I knew I had found the right woman and I wanted to start a life with her." Considering all the Basketball Wives who are no longer, or never were, wives of basketball stars, and all the drama that seems to cling to NBA players' personal lives like so much lint, the heartwarming story of Steph and Ayesha Curry is one to be savored. So long as you get one...

Miri Ann Beuschel with Anton Honik on Bodil Jørgensen: "They thought that I looked a lot like her." Photo: Anne-Katrin Titze
Christian Tafdrup's Parents (Forældre) certainly features the most bizarre moment of male bonding this year on the screen. This is a film where doing laundry and raking leaves are the actions that glue together fragile states of mind. Is the white rabbit or the torrential rain to blame for mysterious rejuvenation?
Kjeld (Søren Malling) and Vibeke (Bodil Jørgensen) say goodbye to their son Esben (Anton Honik), who moves out to go to college in the city. Their house in the suburbs feels big and empty and Kjeld has an idea with unexpected consequences. What if they moved back into the city as well? Into the old apartment they shared before their son was born?
