Confusing

I'm not sure how the heck this movie got a 7 out of 10. It was boring. Very badly written. It was drawn out. Did I mention boring? It also made no sense. You'll get to the end and be like what????

I like it but I'm lost?

Warning: Spoilers
Someone please explain the little girl - is she in on the whole thing? I watched this before but this time I got something else from it. Seems like the girl has something to do with it - "you know who I am". I have to agree with Carla, no I don't either! Maybe why I lost the whole movie at that point.

She looks at him and says, "time for your to die" and it's hard to see if she means the guard or if she's trying to imply to the guard it's time to kill Carla. On the phone - the voice says the girl has been sold only the guard has messed up and the voice tells him to "run" - as in you're dead cuz you messed up! Then the little girl is watching the guard kill Carla as if she's not one-bit phased - touches the guard on the head - not sure what that means, if anything. I just don't get it. Maybe a while ago when I watched it, I didn't care or just took it as they were saving the girl and that was that - this time I'm not so sure.

Leaves you hanging to make up your own mind

Warning: Spoilers
I watched this movie all the way through, and couldn't find a synopsis anywhere else to confirm what I suspected. Anyone that actually sat through this movie....I would love to hear their take, LOL. Between all the dreams Carla was having and the little girl saying "you know who I am"...I don't think there was a little girl, I think that Carla imagined her or she was the "little girl" inside of Carla to give her the strength to get out of there. Very weird movie, it would have been more enjoyable if it had delivered the ending.

A hole in none

I'm still trying to comprehend, if this was a movie, after viewing it last week. I know I'm the first to review this vile pile of garbage, and I hope I'm the last. This is bottom basement movie fare, it's director seriously needs to be knocked off. Ninety percent of the dialogue awful, some of it, so laughable, a three year old could written a better script. I never got to the end of this, as I really felt disturbed by what I'd seen. It's movie relies on a paper thin story, with a few "Are you serious moments?". Young women are kidnapped, shot up with drugs to make them junkie whores, where this bearded, very tubby prick, biker sort (and we don't see all of his face) makes money from their misery, and sells them off to potential buyers. The location is some sort of holding cell, downtown. The two main females, at first are real rivals, the young, loud feisty one, a Jennifer Lawrence, Juliette Lewis looking type, the other kind of butch, more wiser, refined. Don't get me wrong, the acting is really good, but amazingly this is the only good thing about it. The most disturbing section, is of course, is when a ten year old girl, is the latest victim, is brought in, and I really don't want to go any further with this. This would of undoubtedly be one of the worst film this year. I can't believe someone would have the nerve or audacity, to make something like this, in 2017, as this is an exercise in some of the most bottom basement film making, no pun intended. As least there was some decency in the storybook scene, which kind of threw me, in light of all the heartlessness of what preceded. The video camera mounted on a number of embedded license plates was a stylish touch. Stay away from the hole. 0.5/10

Awful film
eclar-0238010 March 2020
This movie was terrible in EVERY sense of the word. The writing was crap. The acting was decent at best, but could have been a lot better. The camera work was very amateur. The set looked quite cheap. And don't get me started on that ending. It seems that the writer/director tried to go for one of those ambiguous endings. Well, they failed! MISERABLY! The concept itself was pretty decent, but it underdelivered big time. Bottom line: This film is an example of a good on paper concept that just didn't deliver what it promised.

PLEASE don't waste your time!!!

Warning: Spoilers
Take my advice don't waste your time with this one if you don't you may not thank me because you will not know what you missed but if you do watch it you will wish you would listen to me and not bothered.

This is NOT a thriller to do with human trafficking, It is a gross and amateurish attempt at Indie "art"

The plot leaves more questions than answers. The filmohraphy, writing acting are all terrible .

I pretty much always watch a movie to the end even if I'm not enjoying it because I'm one of those that is too curious to not see how it ends. But at the end of this movie I was just left confused these so-called "writers" thought they were being clever by trying to leave us with a lot of questions as if they were doing something really deep. But it is not deep, just stupid . One reason I watched it was because it seemed to have a high star rating on Amazon, but after watching it I looked over all the reviews to try and understand how they could've given such a good rating . I found that pretty much all the five star reviews were written over like a two day period, and I'm convinced that it is people involved with the making of the movie that are trying to pad the overall star rating on Amazon. In fact there are websites you can go to and plug-in the URL for Amazon rating on a particular product, and it will tell you if most of the ratings appear legitimate or not, and this one failed miserably when I did so. someone padded the reviews so people like me would be stupid enough to watch it. All in all it's just a horrible waste of time I promise you will not like it

This movie confused me and left me hanging at the end! Who was the little girl? What really caused the ladies to be in the warehouse? I guess I'll never know.... and neither will anyone else!!!!

I was hoping for a more provocative or controversial ending.
Christopherlovesmovies19 March 2023
-Hi everyone, Its Mr C Reviewer, The Movie we are here to talk about tonight is (Drum roll) Life in the Hole. In March of 2023, I had the opportunity to buy and watch the Movie on Prime Video, with a runtime of 1 hour 20 minutes. 'Life in the hole' was first released in the US January 31, 2017. The Movie was both directed and written by Tony Mendoza, with Jacob Blodgett and H. E. Joyce also contributing to the screenplay.

Summary

Amidst the desolate expanse of a remote warehouse, two rival prostitutes held against their will unite to rescue a young girl from the horrors of child sex trafficking.

Review

-As someone who values both visual and auditory components of a film, I appreciated the presence of subtitles throughout the entire movie. It allowed me to fully immerse myself in the story and better understand the dialogue. The film's use of a voice-over by the antagonist to explain the significance of the hole at the beginning I feel was an effective way to draw us, the audience in. In my opinion, the movie could have been improved if the writing was better. While the movie did raise some awareness about human trafficking, I do feel that there may have been room for improvement in terms of execution.

While the acting was decent overall, there were moments where it fell short and could have been better. Throughout the movie, I noticed that the makeup was impressive in some scenes, but lacked consistency in others. In my opinion the movie's subtle dim lighting not only provided adequate visibility but also complemented its overall tone. In one particular scene, the camera captures a view of the outdoors during a small rainstorm. However, the visual effects used to depict the rain I feel didn't achieve a high level of realism. The sound effects appeared to be excessively amplified, creating a perception of heavy and wet boots instead of the intended light footsteps on concrete.

While I appreciated the small glimpses into the characters' backstories and daily lives that the movie provided, I feel like it would have been even better if the characters had engaged in more direct conversations about their personal histories, aspirations, and dreams with the other victims. The movie utilized filters during flashbacks and drug-taking scenes to provide clarity, but I found it to be a detractor from the overall tone. It seems to me that there might have been an alternative way to convey what was happening, perhaps by showing both an objective view of the situation and the character's subjective perspective.

I found the setting of the movie to be convincingly realistic, and the predominant use of a single room as the primary location created a sense of confinement that effectively immersed us as viewers in the characters' experience. I appreciated the introduction of new characters throughout the movie, but I was expecting more individuals to be confined in the room considering its size.

-I think that I would have liked the movie more if the characters had worked collaboratively to bring down the main antagonist, while also fighting off other characters who were aligned with him. Additionally, I would have appreciated a greater emphasis on scenes depicting freedom within the movie. I was hoping for a more provocative or controversial ending, Although I sense that we may have had some clues about what occurred, I cannot be entirely certain. In my opinion, incorporating a scene featuring Carla entering the building at the beginning or end, along with a flashback, would have provided a more conclusive ending if my assumptions based on the hints were accurate.

For each Movie that I watch, I rate it out of 10 so for this am going to give it a 6.4 Remember this was what I thought about the Movie personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself.
