In the original series a continuing plot had the character Nadine obsessed with creating silent drape runners. This episode shows Nadine running a shop named "Run Silent, Run Drapes". The name references that fact as well as the movie, Run Silent Run Deep (1958).
The interview of Janey-E with the police shown in the TV news differs in both dialog and movements compared to the one shown in episode 7. They are clearly two completely different takes of the same scene.
Just when I thought things were taking a turn for the better...
Gratuitous to a completely unnecessary extent. This show has a generally shallow depiction of women which is shocking considering this is the brainchild of the same guy who made Mulholland Drive. Don't even get me started on the stuff with Richard Horne.
