Jeffrey Dean Morgan has joined the cast of Amazon’s The Boys for Season 4 as a recurring guest star. Details regarding the character he will play remain under wraps.
His work on the series will reunite Morgan with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke who serves as showrunner of The Boys. During his time on the CW series he portrayed John Winchester in a recurring capacity.
Kripke recently spoke about his attempts to secure Morgan’s participation in the new season, telling E! News, “Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a superfan of the show, so he and I are talking. We’re trying to figure out something for season four. Nothing finalized yet, but he and I are chatting and e-mailing and seeing it we can make it work with his busy schedule. So, stay tuned on that.”

A group of strangers wake up somewhere with no idea of where they are, how they got there, or why they’re there. Sound familiar? That’s the starting point of Escape the Field, a new thriller from first-time feature director Emerson Moore and his co-writers Sean Wathen and Joshua Dobkin.
Sam wakes up, still in her scrubs, in a cornfield with a revolver and one bullet beside her. While she’s trying to figure out how she got there, or where “there” is, Tyler stumbles across her. They in turn run into other survivors, Ryan, Ethan, Rachel, and Denise. Eventually, they’re joined by Cameron.

Pandemic? What pandemic? That seemed to be the vibe among the 68,000 people at Garth Brooks’ concert at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday night, the first major stadium concert anywhere in the U.S. since the arrival of Covid-19.
Social distancing? Nope. Masks? Maybe a few wore them. Heck, Brooks even shared M&m’s with the crowd at one point.
While there is certainly some trepidation about a mass indoor gathering right now — especially with the emergence of the more transmissible delta variant — the semblance of normalcy outweighed everything else on Saturday night.

Annette Bening, Bill Nighy and Josh O’ Connor are ready to deal with some serious family issues in the drama Hope Gap. Screen Media Ventures and Roadside Attractions released the film today on digital platforms after having to pivot from their originally planned March 5 theatrical release due to the pandemic –because the show must go on.
Directed by Oscar-nominated screenwriter William Nicholson and based on his Tony Award-nominated play, The Retreat From Moscow, Hope Gap made its world premiere at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival before hitting the festival circuit.
Hope Gap follows the lives of Grace (Bening) and Edward (Nighy), who have been married for 29 years, as they navigate through stages of shock, disbelief and anger, to a place of hope. They live in a small seaside town near a cove under the cliffs called Hope Gap — hence the title of the film. When their son Jamie (O’Connor...

In Walkaway Joe, a young boy searches for his father in pool halls across the country, which makes me very glad that my father came home every day from his job and lay down on the couch in the living room, not to be disturbed until dinnertime. Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays the father, so I'm guessing that his spirit will loom large in his son's quest for closure and/or reconciliation. (Julian Feder stars as the son.) Morgan is very good at looming, so that bodes well for the film. Even better, the great David Strathairn portrays "a wandering loner hiding from his past," according to the official synopsis, which kinda makes him sound like a Samurai, doesn't it? The trailer fails to show Mr. Strathairn...

Happy birthday to The Walking Dead‘s Jeffrey Dean Morgan! The star of many iconic movies and TV shows celebrates turning 54 today (April 22nd).
The American actor’s career goes back decades, with his filmography including over 70 screen credits. It’s fair to say, though, that he’s reached a whole other level of fame in the past 15 years or so. In 2005, he played the all-important part of John Winchester, father to Sam and Dean, in Supernatural. He appeared multiple times across The CW hit’s early years and returned for its 300th episode in 2019. From 2006-2009, Morgan likewise filled another memorable recurring role, this time as Denny Duquette on Grey’s Anatomy.
Also in 2009, the star’s turn as Edward Blake/the Comedian in Watchmen brought him a legion of new fans. He’d return to the superhero scene seven years later, too, when he worked with Zack Snyder again...

But there are still a bunch of smaller indie titles that have VOD or digital releases, and that’s where a trailer round-up comes in handy, folks. How […]

David Strathairn instantly makes anything in which he appears more interesting, merely by his always dramatic presence. His appears in Walkaway Joe, about halfway through a new trailer, and elevates what looks like a somewhat rudimentary father/son drama. Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays the father, and he's certainly a combustible personality who can create dramatic sparks, while Julian Feder essays the glum, cheerless son. After they go their separate ways, though, things ignite when David Strathairn appears on the scene, instantly compelling my closer attention. The official synopsis describes the film as "the story of an unlikely friendship between a young boy searching for his father in pool halls across the country, and a wandering loner hiding from his past. "You know, Joe, there ain't no roadmap to being a daddy. We're just doing the best we can..." Quiver Distr. has debuted an official trailer for a southern drama titled Walkaway Joe, marking the feature directorial debut of actor Tom Wright. The trailer makes it seem like a billiards hustling film similar to Rounders, with some interesting characters dealing with their own demons in this. Walkaway Joe is the story of an unlikely friendship between a young boy searching for his father in pool halls across the country, and a wandering loner hiding from his past. In their encounter with each other they experience the power of a second chance, and a shot at redemption. Starring David Strathairn, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Julian Feder, with Julie Ann Emery, David Jensen, and Susan Gallagher. Looks a bit cliche, but still maybe worthwhile. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Tom Wright's Walkaway Joe,...

Just a couple of weeks ago, Kelsea Ballerini experienced one of those surreal, is-this-really-happening-right-now? moments. The Knoxville, Tennessee, native was backstage on the night of her Grand Ole Opry induction, rehearsing a cover of Trisha Yearwood’s “Walkaway Joe” with Carrie Underwood in one of the dressing rooms. That’s all impressive enough, but then Keith Urban, who happened to also be roaming the halls backstage, heard the two women singing and decided to join in on harmony.

Last month, Grand Ole Opry members Little Big Town invited “Peter Pan” singer-songwriter Kelsea Ballerini to join the prestigious cast of America’s longest-running live radio show. On April 16th, with fellow Opry member Carrie Underwood doing the honors, Ballerini was officially welcomed into the Opry family. Moments later, Ballerini and Underwood shared lead vocals on an emotion-packed performance of “Walkaway Joe,” a hit for Trisha Yearwood in 1993.
