- Emma reunites Maleficent with Lily, who is still hell bent on seeking revenge against Mary Margaret and David. Meanwhile, Regina and Robin struggle to cope with the implications of Zelena's pregnancy.
- Lily has transformed into a fire breathing dragon and she's out for blood. After failing to make her daughter see reason, Maleficent is forced to ask Snow and Charming for help. Meanwhile Regina locks away the now pregnant Zelena. Regina needs the author's help more than ever. She will stop at nothing to see her sister punished, but when the moment comes, just what will she ask the author to write? Back in the Enchanted Forest we see The Evil Queen mourning over the anniversary of her true love's death. What will she do when the person she fears most shows up? - We open back in Fairy Tale Land, where Regina is ripping a poor guy's heart out of his chest and crushing it because she hadn't given him permission to plan a wedding on royal land. It's the anniversary date of Daniel's death, and Regina is taking it out on other people. She goes to visit Daniel's grave and her mother appears. Regina is not pleased.
In New York, Regina and Robin talk through how to handle the Zelina situation. Regina goes back to the apartment and declares that everyone is going back to Storybrooke that night.
The author needs some of Emma's dark blood for his magic ink, and that will help get Mr. Gold his happy Ending. But Killian drops in on them in the diner and lets them know that Emma is headed back from New York already -- and Mr. Gold's chest starts to hurt. Instead of trying to walk, he uses some magic to transport himself out of the diner.
Emma and the crew arrive from New York and Maleficent waits from a short distance for Lily to emerge from the car. She comes to tears when Emma walks Lily over and introduces them.
Back in Fairy Tale Land, Regina's mother says she came to apologize and to help her find love. She admits she made "a terrible mistake" taking Daniel's heart. She says she's going to help Regina find the one she's still fated to be with.
Regina brings Zelina to a jail cell in Storybrooke. Meanwhile, Mr. Gold is struggling mightily with the pain in his chest. He heart has lost nearly all goodness. Regina arrives at the pawn shop and isn't terribly sad to see him shrinking in pain. He offers to work together with Regina so they can find the ink. She takes the quill and says she'll figure out the ink on her own. She tosses up a swirl of purple smoke and disappears. Mr. Gold tumbles to the floor.
In Fairy Tale Land, Regina's mother Cora meets the sheriff of Nottingham and tells him she's looking for a man with a tattoo of a lion -- it's Robin Hood.
In Storybrooke, Regina gets time with the author and shows him the torn out page she's been carrying of her and Robin Hood kissing. He says there's hope and something is looking out for her. He says he's happy to help as long as she can find the ink.
Lily immediately asks Maleficent how they're going to get revenge on Snow White and Prince Charming, but Maleficent says she doesn't want it anymore. Lily isn't interested and says she's leaving. Maleficent goes to Mary Margaret and David for help. Mary Margaret agrees to help.
Regina finds Lily at the bus stop and wants to buddy up to her.
In Fairy Tale Land, Cora comes to Regina and tells her she's found her man. She whips up a dress Regina always wanted, then in walks the sheriff of Nottingham with a tattoo of a lion on his wrist. As they talk, the sheriff makes a quip about being the strong one so that Regina can be "weak" when she wants to. She doesn't take too kindly to this and makes the lion on his fake, magic tattoo come to life. it nearly devours the sheriff before she stops it because he admits that Cora wanted Regina to have a child, but he doesn't know why.
At the bus stop, Regina is learning about the darkness in Lily, who is still hellbent on revenge. Regina finally takes a knife and slices Lily's hand to get some of her blood. She dips the knife into the ink well and it glows. Lily's eyes fill with rage after Regina disappears. Mary Margaret, David and Maleficent are driving down the road when they see a dragon take off in flight. Maleficent knows it's Lily.
Cora comes back to Regina, who tells Cora that she was never interested in Regina's happiness.
In Storybrooke, Regina pays a visit to Zelina's jail cell with the author and says he's going to write her happy ending -- and Zelina's ending.
Emma has a little heart to heart with Killian about her parents.
Maleficent, David and Mary Margaret find Lily the dragon and Maleficent walks toward her, but Mary Margaret -- wanting to make things right with Maleficent -- runs ahead of her and gets smacked sideways by Lily. She hits her head on a rock and gets knocked out.
Emma finds Mary Margaret and fixes her injured head -- and she tells Mary Margaret she needs to stop punishing her. Emma borrows from Killian's speech to her about her parents and tells Mary Margaret that she realizes that her parents were only trying to make her proud. They hug and all's forgiven.
Meanwhile, Maleficent finds Lily in dragon form and she shrinks back down into human form. Lily tells her mother that she expected them to go on a revenge tear, but she's surprised by how open Maleficent is. Lily says she ruins everything she touches and that the darkness that was put in her was "serious business." Maleficent gets Lily to agree to stay in town for a week so they can get to know each other.
Regina tells Zelina that the author is going to write her out of the story -- forever. Zelina is in disbelief, but when she realizes that she's going to be written out completely, she stings Regina by telling her that she's getting a sense of what their mother was like based on Regina's actions.
We cut back to Fairy Tale Land where Regina told her mother she was going to drink a potion that would make her unable to have a child, removing her mother's claim to the royal bloodline. Cora calls Regina's bluff, but Regina drinks the potion. Cora is surprised and tells Regina that she herself is the only person standing in the way of her own happiness.
Back in the jail cell, Regina turns slightly less cold and decides not to write Zelina out of the story. She tells the author not to write anything, but tells Zelina that she's going to let her stick around -- with the most restrictive visitation rights in history. The author doesn't keep his pen idle, though, as he writes his way back to Mr. Gold, where the two of them start to rewrite the stories in order for the villains to all get their happy endings.
