Stunning photography and beautiful music
djkash11 April 2014
There are 4 nature films in this series, Oceans, Flowers, Deserts and Forests. They are just 25 minutes long each but have the most beautiful photography I have ever seen. Well worth the time and I know I will watch them again and again. They are currently on Netflix streaming which is where I saw them. The time lapse photography is especially effective. I only wish there were credits that told where each was filmed. There is no talking at all just gorgeous music along with the stunning photography. Animals and trees and water and blooming flowers all presented with unbelievable beauty. There is nothing more to say except you will not regret the time spent. Highly recommend

Great Time Lapse Work

This was a great film, the cinematography is excellent. I saw it on Netflix and one of the best parts was the sound scoring. The sound score/track is one of the most important part of this series and it really draws you in and puts a lot of passion into Louie's work.

Sadly, when I purchased the blu-ray version of the series all the sound tracks/scoring was different!!!

The series IS NOT the same with the sound scoring used on the blu-ray discs (don't buy them!!).

I'm very disappointed, so if you want to see this, see it on Netflix. I have no idea why there is a difference but the blu-ray scoring completely ruins the experience by using different sound scores.

A visually stunning masterpiece.

Moving Art Oceans is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen (and heard) on a television.

When it comes to visual presentation, this is up there with Planet Earth and Avatar as penultimate visual treats. Although here the best possible way to experience this is on a shiny new 4k TV. Here we are treated with gorgeous scenery mainly of oceans, shores and coastlines, but they truly are sights to behold. The cinematography by Louie Schwartzberg is outstanding, breathtaking and absolutely incredible. Here the cameras move slowly, giving the viewer time to soak in all the sumptuous details and glorious beauty. The longer wider shots are the best bits here, the entire ocean infinitely stretches into the distance while distant coastlines seem as clear as your back garden.

The music composed for this video is incredible. They are usually slow paced yet soothing piano tunes or soft violin harps but they are an absolutely perfect match for the visual treat.

Overall I strongly recommend this to anyone. The only thing stopping me from giving this 10/10 is that it's only 25 minutes! There are also three other Moving Art videos: Flowers, Forests and Deserts.

Spectacular!

The beautiful music of Ludovico Einaudi coupled with sensational ocean videography. No better way to break in that brand new 4K TV as I did with my Samsung curve. This was one of the first 4K videos I had ever seen on my new Curve. It is picture perfect and sounds even better with the wonderful soundtrack from Ludovico Einaudi. Little story about my past experience with Einaudi's music. In 2007, my in-laws moved into a mountain home in the Poconos of NE Pennsylvania. TV access was minimal on a cold evening but there was one channel that came in and that was the Arts channel. On comes this older gentleman playing the piano in a recital hall with purple hued fog wafting around him on stage. He played pretty much the full 11 minute version of this wonderful song called Oltremare. It was indeed Ludovico Einaudi. I was moved dramatically by this music and was hooked and it just fit the setting of this new mountain scenery I was experiencing for the first time while sitting in front of the fireplace with this great music. Been trying to see him in concert for years and am still trying lol. Now ten years later I get this Curve TV and one of the first things I watch on it by accident, as I did not know Einaudi did the soundtrack for this wonderful video, was this video. As I was watching this video I said to myself this music sounds so familiar. What is it. At first it is just music that sounds an awful lot like the style of Oltremare. All of the sudden, halfway in on comes the unmistakable Oltremare confirming my suspicion that I knew the composer of the music for this video all along. Such a great ocean video, such great music and the 4K is just superb of course. Highly recommend!

Just sit and be inspired

Watch the oceans beat up the valiant and defiant rocks, the timelessness of this ancient battle, and the beauty of it all, all overt he world. Then pop into the ocean and meet the aliens full of colour. Just would have liked to know where he was on our rock hurtling through space. I want to go there.

Why did you change the music???!

I get wanting to switch things up. But wouldn't it be easier if you had both sets of music as an option?
