Here we have the music video for the song "Queenie Eye" by former Beatle Paul McCartney. It runs for 4 minutes and was released back in 2013, so it will have its 5th anniversary next year. McCartney enters a room with a piano in it and starts playing the song in the title. We find out it is a recording studio. More and more people appear out of nowhere inside the room and start enjoying McCartney's music, dancing or they simply listen to it getting the groove. These people are all celebrities including Sean Penn Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp and several other very familiar faces. You find the cast list here on IMDb. The director is Simon Aboud, who recently released the solid This Beautiful Fantastic and who is married to McCartney's daughter, so it was a bit of a family affair here. McCartney's legend status is maybe the biggest issue here. Sure he has no problem filling a room with these A-listers, but eventually this is the only thing that stays in mind about these 4 minutes. There is no real creativity, no plot or story and the simplicity aspect is lost quickly when the first stars enter the picture. The song is not too good either. Overall, I give this one a thumbs-down. Macca has done better many times.
