A big change is happening as ‘Peacemaker’ moves from Dceu to the new Dcu. Season 2 is in the works and will be part of Dcu canon. Gunn assures fans the shift won’t be confusing and aims for a smooth transition between Dceu and Dcu, especially for ‘Peacemaker’.
Now, Gunn takes it a step further by linking the forthcoming ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 with the much-anticipated animated project ‘Creature Commandos,’ set for release this year.
Frank Grillo has been chosen to portray Rick Flag Sr. in ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2, following his prior confirmation to voice the character in the animated series. This mirrors Gunn’s earlier statement during the Dcu presentation, expressing his desire for voice actors to also appear in live-action roles.
Rick Flag Sr. was once the leader of the Suicide Squadron during WWII. This group, made up of criminals, was sent on perilous missions. Flag Sr. instilled discipline in them and led them successfully.

Frank Grillo was sorely underutilised in the MCU. After first playing Brock Rumlow for a memorable supporting turn in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, he returned as Crossbones in Captain America: Civil War...and immediately died.
The actor got a cameo in Avengers: Endgame and has lent his voice to What If...?, but it's looking like he'll have much more to do in the Dcu.
After being cast as Rick Flag Sr. in DC Studios' animated Creature Commandos, it's been confirmed today that Grillo will make the leap to live-action and reprise the role in Peacemaker season 2.
"Pleased to announce the great [Frank Grillo] will be reprising the role of Rick Flag, Sr - the role he’ll first play in animated form in 'Creature Commando's - throughout Season 2 of 'Peacemaker,'" DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn said on Instagram. "Christopher Smith and Rick Sr have a little unfinished business to take care of.

Rumour has it Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler is being eyed to helm both Black Panther 3 and Marvel Studios' eventual X-Men reboot.
It's an exciting prospect given what a talent the filmmaker is, but one The DisInsider may have thrown cold water on. According to the site, Coogler is on a shortlist to helm both Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars.
While the post's author believes he'd likely direct only one of them, they also suggest the director could pass the reigns of Black Panther 3 to someone else to focus on Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Still, we'd bet on Marvel Studios wanting a single filmmaker for the next Avengers movies as, like Infinity War and Endgame, they could then be shot back-to-back (surely a necessity when they're being released only one year apart).

Russo Brothers Once Revealed Iron Man & Captain America’s Feud Was The Reason The Avengers Lost In Infinity War(Photo Credit – IMDb/Instagram)
The Avengers: Infinity War will always be an impressive Marvel movie as the superheroes face their biggest enemy, Thanos, and lose. It was a disappointment not only for the heroes but also for the fans, who were shocked by the film’s ending. The MCU seems to have hit a rough patch lately with its movies. But things have been more positive on the TV side, with WandaVision, Loki, and Moon Knight garnering universal acclaim. The latest win for the franchise takes the form of X-Men ’97, a continuation of the classic animated X-Men series from 1997.
The show has been praised by fans and critics for staying true to the spirit of the original series while also feeling modern and fresh. In a recent episode, X-Men ’97 pulled off an important scene that could have major repercussions, not just for its characters but the MCU as a whole. In fact, a recent interview with one of the cast members of the show hinted at how the scene could lead to a showdown between the X-Men and the Avengers.

The "X-Men" film franchise was one of the superhero genre's first bonafide success stories. After debuting in 2000 to decent reviews and solid gold box office, Marvel's mutants added a new level of legitimacy to comic book adaptations on film and provided a runway for other characters to make it to the silver screen. It's a shame, then, that a franchise once emblematic of its genre's greatest potential has since succumbed to its worst qualities: overcomplicated canon, problematic players behind the scenes (his name rhymes with Shmyan Shminger), and corporate interests milking spin-offs for all they could be worth, even as the udders run dry. If it weren't for the Disney-Fox merger and Marvel Studios' plan for mutant integration into the MCU, the "X-Men" franchise would be as close to dead-in-the-water as you can be.
In fairness, the X-Men became friendly with development hell long before its first film. There's just...

Debuting in 2016 with Captain America: Civil War, Chadwick Boseman became an integral part of MCU as T’Challa, aka Black Panther. Thereafter, the actor reprised his iconic role in Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and even in Avengers: Endgame (2019). Later on, although Boseman was supposed to continue his role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the actor unfortunately met with an untimely death due to cancer.

When Russo Brothers Almost Quit On Captain America: Civil War (Photo Credit –Instagram/IMDb)
Captain America: Civil War beautifully set the stage in a way for the Avengers: Infinity War. When Tony Stark reveals to Bruce Banner that the Avengers have broken up, Bruce innocently questions him, “Like the Beetles?” It generated a lot of laughs in the theatres, but that might not have been possible if Marvel’s Creative Committee stopped the Russo brothers from pitting Tony and Steve Rogers against each other in the 2016 movie.
Civil War was directed by the director sibling duo Joe Russo and Anthony Russo and featured most of the Avengers. However, Thor and Hulk were not part of the film. Tom Holland has played Spider-Man in multiple MCU films over the years and the actor has become synonymous with the character. From his scene-stealing debut in Captain America: Civil War to the epic Spider-Man: No Way Home, the character has evolved significantly through his appearances.

Spider-Man had a big role in Avengers: Infinity War, with his introduction being one of the highlights of the film. Holland’s arm hair stands up as his Spidey sense kicks in when Thanos’ minions arrive on Earth. While most believed the scene was achieved through CGI, Marvel surprisingly did it via practical means.

The Russo brothers don't think superhero fatigue is to blame for the recent struggles of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).The sibling directors have enjoyed tremendous success in the superhero genre with movies including 'Captain America: Civil War' and 'Avengers: Endgame' and argue that Marvel's problems stem from a "generational divide" in how audiences consume films.Joe Russo, 52, told GamesRadar+: "There's a big generational divide about how you consume media."There's a generation that's used to appointment viewing and going to a theatre on a certain date to see something, but it's ageing out. Meanwhile the new generation are, 'I want it now, I want to process it now', then moving onto the next thing, which they process whilst doing two other things at the same time."You know, it's a very different moment in time than it's ever been. And so I think everyone,...

Filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo were responsible for some of Marvel’s biggest box office hits, from “Captain America: Civil War” to “Avengers: Endgame,” but they don’t necessarily believe superhero fatigue is to blame for the studio’s recent struggles. Marvel had a tough 2023 with two flops: “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and “The Marvels.” Speaking recently to GamesRadar+, the directors said that Marvel’s current issues boil down to the changes in how people absorb media: It’s a Hollywood-wide issue, not just a Marvel one.
“I think it’s a reflection of the current state of everything. It’s difficult right now, it’s an interesting time,” Joe Russo said. “I think we’re in a transitional period and people don’t know quite yet how they’re going to receive stories moving forward, or what kinds of stories they’re going to want.”

Elizabeth Olsen has played the role of Wanda Maximoff a.k.a Scarlet Witch in the MCU since Avengers: Age of Ultron. From being a brainwashed member of Hydra to being one of the Og Avengers, the character has had an interesting arc in the MCU, which seemingly ended in 2022’s Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
However, Scarlet Witch had one of her most powerful and tragic moments in Avengers: Infinity War where she had to protect Vision, who possessed the Mind Stone, from the Black Order. While there are some amazing scenes with the actress in the film, fans seem to be annoyed at the MCU for deleting a pivotal sequence from the movie.

Who would have guessed the author of A Song of Ice and Fire novels George R.R. Martin, to be a Marvel fan? Usually, writers of his stature often claim to be neck deep into von-Goethe, Hemingway, and the obvious Shakespearean dramas. But Martin broke stereotypes after claiming to be an avid comic book fan, particularly inclined towards Marvel, more than DC.

With Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame being such box office successes, many fans assumed that the Russo Brothers (Anthony and Joe Russo) would return to direct Avengers: Secret Wars. But in the years that followed, a lot changed.
During that period, the Russo Brothers helmed a few flicks through their Agbo company. Among them are the crime drama Cherry, starring Tom Holland and Ciara Bravo, and the action thriller The Gray Man, featuring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans.

Tom Holland and Zendaya have not only won our hearts as the beloved Spider-Man and Mj, but there is a possibility that they are weaving a romantic web of their own that might finally break the Spider-Man curse. Yes, the recent report claims that the couple is currently talking about getting hitched soon.
Isn’t it thrilling to imagine that the one Spidey pair to make the switch from on-screen chemistry to off-screen matrimony might be right before our eyes? Shane Black's 2016 cop comedy "The Nice Guys" was a winking, comedic riff on hard-boiled detective movies, meant to deconstruct the genre as much as pay homage to it. Set in Los Angeles in 1977, the plot revolves around the booming porn industry and the private investigators hired to look into a mysterious death. The central joke of "The Nice Guys" is that the main P.I.s, Holland March (Ryan Gosling) and Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) are kind of bumbling idiots. They know how to investigate mysteries, but their central talents seem to be good luck and mere tenacity. Because the film was written by Black, the dialogue crackles and the characters vibrate with energy and life; Black doesn't write dialogue to be merely functional, preferring to give his characters wit and pathos.
"The Nice Guys" cost $50 million to make, but only ultimately earned about $71 million worldwide, which, in Hollywood terms, is a notable bomb.

Hulu has released the official trailer for the upcoming drama Becoming Karl Lagerfeld, which stars Daniel Brühl as the iconic couturier. The series will premiere with all six episodes on Friday, June 7, on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally.
In 1972, Karl Lagerfeld (Daniel Brühl) was 38 and not yet wearing his iconic hairstyle. He was a ready-to-wear designer unknown to the general public.
While he meets and falls in love with the sultry Jacques de Bascher (Théodore Pellerin), an ambitious and troubling young dandy, the most mysterious of fashion designers dares to take on his friend (and rival) Yves Saint Laurent (Arnaud Valois), a genius of haute couture backed by the redoubtable businessman Pierre Bergé (Alex Lutz).

Actor Ryan Gosling has an eclectic set of movies in his filmography, which has made him a versatile actor. Though the actor had his breakthrough with the romance flick The Notebook, he has branched out to action, comedy, sci-fi, and drama. Gosling was recently nominated for an Oscar for his performance as Ken in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.
One of Gosling’s most underrated performances is the Shane Black-directed black comedy The Nice Guys. The neo-noir comedy sees him play a detective in the ‘70s along with Russell Crowe. Though the film is a cult classic now, it was a commercial failure. Gosling mentioned that the success of the animated movie The Angry Birds Movie ruined The Nice Guys’ chance for a sequel.

Ryan Gosling has claimed 'Angry Birds' "destroyed" any chance of a sequel to 'The Nice Guys'.The 43-year-old actor starred with Russell Crowe as private detectives in the 2016 black comedy and though it is a fan favourite, the 'Barbie' star admitted any hopes of a second film were scotched after it was hammered at the box office by the animated children's film.He told ComicBook.com: "So much of a sequel, I think, is decided by the opening weekend of a movie, and we opened up against 'Angry Birds'. So 'Angry Birds' just, just destroyed us. 'Angry Birds' got a sequel."According to Deadline, 'The Nice Guys' took $11.2 million at the box office on opening weekend, a figure dwarfed by the $38 million 'Angry Birds' pulled in. The same period also saw 'Captain America: Civil War' earn $32.9 million in its third weekend of release, and 'Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising' opening with $21.7 million.

Ryan Gosling is reflecting on the reason he believes the 2016 action-comedy The Nice Guys didn’t score a sequel.
The Barbie actor told ComicBook.com, in an interview published online Tuesday, that there likely won’t be a follow-up because the original movie was overwhelmed by The Angry Birds Movie at the box office during its debut weekend.
“So much of a sequel, I think, is decided by the opening weekend of a movie, and we opened up against Angry Birds,” Gosling explained. “So Angry Birds just, just destroyed us. Angry Birds got a sequel.” The Angry Birds Movie 2 premiered in 2019.
And the Fall Guy star was right, as the Shane Black-directed film had a tough battle during its opening weekend. It was not only up against Angry Birds but also Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. Additionally, Captain America: Civil War was in its third weekend in theaters, so Marvel fans also played a factor.

Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe starred in The Nice Guys in 2016, but the movie didn’t get a sequel despite its positive reviews.
In a recent interview, the Barbie actor says he thinks the reason the action comedy film directed by Shane Black didn’t get a sequel was the opening box office numbers.
“So much of a sequel, I think, is decided by the opening weekend of a movie, and we opened up against Angry Birds,” Gosling told Comic Book in an interview. “So Angry Birds just, just destroyed us. Angry Birds got a sequel.”
The Angry Birds Movie had an opening weekend of $38M, easily topping The Nice Guys, which generated only $11.2M at the box office. On the same weekend, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising opened to a $21.7M weekend. The films also had to fend off Marvel fans, with Captain America: Civil War earning $32.9M in its third weekend.

The upcoming Marvel film Captain America: Brave New World has had a rather rocky development, with rumors of poor test screenings, reshoots, and even delays leading to some wondering when the film will actually be released.
So little is known about the film, and the only hint at any story is its multiple subtitles, with the first being “New World Order” but being changed to “Brave New World” due to political concerns. This will also be the first Captain America film without Chris Evans as Falcon (Played by: Anthony Mackie) has taken up the mantel (as seen in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier).
But we may now know of a character that will be appearing in the film, one that will serve as the potential main villain of the story. That being Red Hulk. Red Hulk is the alter ego of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross after he, too, was mutated like Bruce Banner,...

The new trailer of the upcoming MCU film Deadpool & Wolverine was released earlier this week. The trailer gives a full glimpse of Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine and sees him team up with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. The film would be a multiversal story, with Wolverine dealing with ‘letting down his world’ and the mission helping him get over it.
To add to the hype, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld took to his social media to appreciate the film. Having already seen it, the comic book creator compared the action sequences to that of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and even teased that the film would be one of the ‘best comic book films of all time’.

While we giddily behold the new trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, Tom Holland addresses the anticipated follow-up to his last outing as the web crawler in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It has obviously been a dream run for the young actor ever since he made his appearance in Captain America: Civil War as his big debut as Peter Parker. His entrance in the 2016 film was a special one as Marvel Studios themselves would be creatively behind the character for the first time since the universe started. After No Way Home, Holland would portray Spider-Man in six MCU movies. He would take a much needed break from the character and after doing AppleTV+’s The Crowded Room, he would take a break from acting altogether.

‘Captain America: Civil War’ was an extremely important movie in the MCU, primarily due to its introduction of the Sokovia Accords, which divided the Avengers and led to a conflict between Captain America and Iron Man, for the first time in the MCU pitting superheroes against each other, with no real winner in the conflict.
It also introduced new characters like Black Panther and Spider-Man, impacting the future of the MCU. The film’s character conflict and action-packed storyline had lasting effects on team dynamics and relationships within the Avengers, making it one of the most memorable entries in the franchise.
