- A young girl moves from New York to a mythical village in Ireland.
- When 12-year-old Mickey Miller moves from New York to Ireland, she soon discovers a link between herself and the 300-year-old legend of the mysterious Black Knight, who regularly haunts the sleepy Irish village. With courage and a sharp mind, she sets out to save a precious herd of white horses and to thwart the evil plans of a greedy, ambitious woman.—Global Screen
- New York brat 'Mickey (12)', who nearly broke her neck making her horse jump a stranded boat, hates moving to Ireland with her mother destitute Lisa and kid brother Danny when a distant kin leaves them a rustic cottage. She bonds in the village school only with bullied nerd Sean O'Haron, who tires of her fascination for folk-law. The main legend, three centuries old, is about the Black Knight, a ghostly rider, former lord of the land, who went mad and evil as widower after his daughter was kidnapped. His castle is now owned by crone Thyrza Dumonceau, who dies just before she could share a secret. Her son and heir Marc is engaged to gold-digger Caitlin Lemon, who plots with the mayor to abuse the legend to stir tourism and transform the castle into a grand hotel, but the testament prevents any renovation as long as the horses and their stable-hand live. Only Sean helps her find out about and dealing with the legendary challenge to appease the ghost, and frustrate the plotters during the horse race on the lord's wedding day.—KGF Vissers
