For years, Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” series was seen as unadaptable. Inspired by the 1855 Robert Browning poem “Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came,” the story came to King in piecemeal — he started it with a single line, and fleshed out the plot as he moved through it. The resulting eight-book sci-fi/fantasy/horror saga is a mind-warping, inter-dimensional story that fuses the classic elements of a western showdown with existential turmoil and a meta-narrative that ultimately involved King himself as a character.

Adapting the spiritual philosophy of Eckhart Tolle is no easy task, but that’s exactly what writer-director Barnet Bain has done with “Milton’s Secret.” Based on Tolle’s 2008 children’s book, the family drama stars William Ainscough as a 12 year-old boy dealing with workaholic parents at home (Mia Kirshner, David Sutcliffe) and bullies at school. When his grandfather (Donald Sutherland) visits, Milton learns rehashing the past and worrying about the future are preventing him from finding true happiness.

Robbie Little has added worldwide rights on the coming-of-age tale from debutant Sean Nalaboff to his Cannes slate.
Hard Sell is styled as in the vein of Risky Business and centres on a poor high school senior at a wealthy school who comes up with a scheme to save the ailing family dog.
Skyler Gisondo, Kristin Chenoweth and Katrina Bowden star.
Jared Greenman and Jimmy Seargeant produced along with Nalaboff. eOne will release the film in select theatres and on demand in the Us on May 20.
“This is an impressive first feature from Nalaboff — you can’t help but fall in love with the characters Skyler Gisondo and Katrina Bowden portray, and be taken back to the many heart-breaking and character-building firsts of those important teen years,” said Little.

The search for knowledge leads to great pain in the Goetz brothers' reimagining of Pascal Laugier’s Martyrs. With the new take on the cult classic horror film hitting theaters and Digital HD this Friday from Anchor Bay Entertainment, we caught up with Martyrs actress Bailey Noble (True Blood) in our latest Q&A feature.
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Bailey. How did you get involved with this reimagining of Martyrs and what attracted you to the story?
Bailey Noble: First of all, I love that you called it a reimagining! I auditioned for the role of Anna and after meeting with the Goetz brothers and chemistry reading with Troian [Bellisario], the role was offered to me! I read the script and fell in love with Lucy and Anna's relationship, so that's initially what attracted me to the film. I also love seeing empowered female roles,...

Here is the first red-band trailer for Vacation, the reboot/sequel from Horrible Bosses and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.
The movie stars Ed Helms as a grown-up Rusty Griswold who seemingly wants to take his kids on his childhood vacation to Walley World. Some crude and filthy jokes later, we get a pretty solid first trailer that takes aim at the absurdity of it all.
The film also stars Christina Applegate, Leslie Mann, Chris Hemsworth, Steele Stebbins, Beverly D’Angelo, Skyler Gisondo, Nick Kroll, Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson, Regina Hall, and Keegan-Michael Key.
Vacation opens in theaters on July 31st.

The middle of Spring actually means a new selection of summer blockbusters to look forward to, and with a ton of big-budget films slated to come out within the next few months and beyond, the summer of 2015 looks like one to remember.
From the new Mad Max (which is already on our end-of -year top ten list event though we haven’t yet seen it) to Avengers, Poltergeists, male strippers, talking teddy bears, and a reboot of the Jurassic Park franchise, this summer’s trips to the theaters will be jam-packed with sequels and new tales. From May 1st right through to the end of August, some of the movies on our list could wind up on year-end “best of” lists or even receive some Oscar talk by December.
Grab your calendar, because Wamg has a rundown of this summer’s films we’re most excited about, so check them out below!

Bringing a little drama, as well as a little humor to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Kristin Chenoweth tried lip syncing while waving to the spectators.
Although the 45-year-old's heart was in it, her voice was not. She was slated to perform "New York New York," but when she forgot to start singing, the pre-recored track continued on without her.
Knowing that the show must go on, the "Alone" singer carried on with the performance, lip-syncing the entire song, as energetic as ever.
In related news, Chenoweth is currently working on a very Real movie project, named "Hard Sell," which comes to theaters in the United States in 2014.
The synopsis states that, "Hardy Buchanan, a poor student surrounded by affluence at an elite private school, uses the help of a stripper to raise money for his dog's surgery."...
