Decent movie, but not the best as some people claim.
deepeshdevassy13 April 2024
The movie follows Vineeth's typical storyline centered around friendship sentiments.

The first half is filled with drama and nostalgic scenes, although it can feel a bit cringy with its emphasis on friendship and its misunderstandings.

However, Nivin Poly steals the show in the second half with his slapstick comedy with a bit of overacting. But his charismatic persona brought much-needed energy for the film.

Dhyan delivers a strong performance, taking on an unusual character role 👏🏻 while Pranav Mohanlal characterized by repetitive mannerisms. This repetition fails to engage the audience and lacks freshness in his acting.

The fun elements and surprise Tamil characters add to the enjoyment & become boredom busters for the movie.

The constant reference to a particular award winning composition in the movie was very irritating.

I couldn't enjoy the composition at all.

Overall, it's a decent movie, but not the best as some claim.

Worth a watch for its artistic value, but don't expect a groundbreaking experience.

Another masterpiece from Vineeth
ajintvarghese114 April 2024
Just watched Varshangalkku Shesham directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan. Starring Pranav Mohanlal as Murali and Dhyan Sreenivasan as Venu in lead roles.

The movie promises a feel good experience. The film's emotional depth and well-placed humor make it a delightful watch. The first half of the movie introduces us to background and stories of the lead characters, while the second half takes unexpected twists and turns, introduction of Basil Joseph and Nivin Pauly makes the movie more interesting.

Nivin Pauly shines in his role, notably the dialogues and his reactions felt more realistic compared to the real incidents about body shaming and all

The chemistry between Dhyan and Pranav is commendable. And Vineeth introduced most of the same actors from his previous movie and all.

The One in Which They Make a Movie
amarnathnair11 April 2024
Varshangalkku Shesham is all about experiencing a movie. It's about the aspirations, hardwork, excitement and satisfaction of being in a creative process and pulling it off. Vineeth Sreenivasan and Friends have once again hit it out of the park with this movie.

The movie talks about friendship and how perseverance and trust in friendship can take you places. It is about creators, their ego, their self doubt and their achievements. We root for the friends and their relationship.

This is a story we have seen and we are aware of what is going to happen but we are in for the ride.

Vineeth Sreenivasan has a vision and he has fulfilled it.

A complete vineeth sreenivasan Cinema !
joyalbrightt12 April 2024
A PERFECT entertainment to me , it has comedy, romance, drama ; a rollercoaster of emotions !

Plenty of small roles yet have impactful moments , small role for nita pillai ,she gained claps and Aju Varghese role is fine and effective !

It will be tough to mention everyone and their performance ,so main highlights are dhyan sreenivasan and Pranav Mohanlal; both are the backbone of the movie, both showcased theirs skills and touched our feelings; Dhyan in comedy one liners and Pranav in serious moments are treat to watch !

Music department done a nice job, blended a lot of songs with the performances of actors and narration well !

Two guys became standout from this movie ; one the main guy ,the craftsman ,the cringe director who always know the taste of audience vineeth sreenivasan ; he just keep getting better and better at making a movie without adding any extra ordinary things ;yet becoming the favorite director of mine !

& this guy nivin pauly oh man; when it comes to his territory of acting skills ,no one can match his charismatic appeal and dialogue delivery ,he just FREAKING steal the show from everyone !

Go for this one ,watch it with families and friends !

OK!!!
vinayakkunnaru15 April 2024
Varshangalkku shesham is a slow paced drama by the director vineeth sreenivasan.so far i can say this is the worst film in his directorial.. So many characters fitted in to make a cinema.overall cinema is okay but nothing will happen to the cinema if a few characters are removed..felt like compromised so much..the main positive from the movie is dhyan and nivin pauly.. Starting was gripping and finally was dragging till the end of first half..then comes nithin molly aka nivin pauly where the movie elevated a little bit if there was no nivin the film would have been a disaster.

Music by amrith was ok considering him as an new commercial.

But somehow the vineeth magic is holding all the negatives into positive by a few moments which he brilliantly placed in to the movies to spice it up,which makes it a decent watch.

Nice movie
dinojohn-8458613 April 2024
Several Twitter users noted that the second half of 'Varshangalkku Shesham' was particularly strong, surpassing the first half in terms of impact. One user hailed it as "another blockbuster from Vineeth Sreenivasan" and praised the performances of Dhyan Sreenivasan and Pranav Mohanlal, with Nivin Pauly delivering a stellar comeback. Many praised the film as a "blockbuster," with one user asserting that Vineeth Sreenivasan displayed his exceptional talent once again. The film's second half was described as "out of the park," with Nivin Pauly returning in "full form." The supporting cast, including Dhyan Sreenivasan, Pranav Mohanlal, Basil Joseph, and Aju Varghese, also received commendations for their performances. Varshangalkku Shesham' features a star-studded cast, including Dhyan Sreenivasan, Pranav Mohanlal, Nivin Pauly, Aju Varghese, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and others in pivotal roles. With its engaging narrative and strong performances, the film is expected to continue attracting audiences and making a significant impact at the box office.

OK movie, one time watch!!
sanjuprasad-3356930 April 2024
Dhyan Sreenivasan and Pranav Mohanlal have done a great job on their part, as well as the other actors. Special mention to Nivin Pauly, he has stolen the show with his brilliant performance. He has done a very good job, laughed my heart out throught his dialogues.

Music was average.

First half was very lagging, got bored. Second half was good, mainly because of Nivin it turned out really well!!! First half had something missing technically, not able to pinpoint at it exactly.

Definitely not among the good movies that Vineeth Sreenivasan has given us before, expecting good movies from him in future.

WE are living Vineet sreenivasan s WORLD !!!!
Ananth_krishnanh13 April 2024
Starting from acting part - Pranav Mohanlal- WOW ,JUST WOW! His acting has drastically improved the period .He is having his time. And man his body language and acting gives the vibe of our OLD LALETTAN....

Dhyan Sreenivasan-He killed it man ,when it comes to humour he is just fabolous .Just remarkable acting .I think after THIRA(2013) this is one of movies where he has done bit of serious roles..

WHAT A COMEBACK-NIVIN POLLY-THis guy knows how to do a comeback ,just loved it ...Especially his subtle humour and indirect jokes towards public about his body shaming and the only part that i feel a bit too much was his "PATTI SHOW" rest every thing was just beautiful...

other actors- Aju Vargese - As usual with his humour and funny body language killing the scene ... Asif ALi-A very unexpected one but did a simple but effective role ... Kalyani-She does not have much role, but survived with her beauty more than her acting skills..

Finally About the director-

Vineeth Sreenivasan- He Literally has taught us how to direct a movie and for all aspring movie makers ,i think this is a great movie to get inspired from. His writing of dialogues oh god its soo good ,man that is god gifted...

In the End the ENTIRE CAST HAS KILLED THE SCENE....:)

One for the Family
ravikrishhnan15 April 2024
First off, this movie is for the family. There's tons to laugh in the second half. Nivin Pauly just steals the whole thing with his acting and self troll. Real credit goes to Vineeth Sreenivasan. He's a genius craftsman. He knows exactly how to make the film click with the general audience. Coming to the film. There's nothing new about the storyline. We can very well predict the course. Dhyan has done well. Pranav struggles. Story begins cheerfully and lags as it inches towards the halftime mark. From then on, it's a rollercoaster of laughs. It's more funny when 100s of people laugh with you. So may not be that good when it comes to OTT. But definitely a one time enjoyable film, that has its ups and downs.

Disappointed.
Abhinav_Sumeet_Kombra19 April 2024
~ Varshangalk Shesham was definitely not for me. I am very disappointed after watching this film. I didn't like anything in this film apart from the Cinematography by Oddukathil Vishwajith , some of the frames were really nice. The music was also good. Other than that the performances were okayish , Dhyan was fine. The characters in this film did not connect to me at all. I felt like they are stupid. Some of the characters and actors were there just for nothing. Lot of the times I felt Vineeth Sreenivasan was forcefully trying to make the film feel - good. Nivin Pauly character was an hit and miss for me. He performed better in this than his previous few films , but I still didn't get to see that old Nivin back. The length of the film is another drawback as it is very long and is tiring. Personally I didn't like it at all.

A Vineeth Sreenivasan Padam
skmenon199313 April 2024
** Varshangalkku Shesham ( After many Years ) Malayalam Movie Review **

Directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan starring Dhyan Sreenivasan Pranav Mohanlal in lead role.

Also starring Nivin Pauly in a extended notable cameo appearance.

A journey of friendship & the love for cinema --- A feel post watching this movie.

A story of 2 friends who accidentally meets but then their love for art becomes the best of the buddies & after many years how cinema make their friendship stronger is all about the movie speaks..

Nothing to say when a Vineeth Sreenivasan movie is watching a feel of relaxation can be sensed & again he doesn't disappoints me with this latest movie.

A journey which can't be explained in writing but a 3 hour long movie not giving an opportunity of boredom but screenplay of Vineeth immesrse into his world & we forget about everything.

Talking about the performance, Dhyan Sreenivasan had given the best performance. When a story like this and when a film maker who could extract the best from the artist such performance s can be witnessed.

Another notable performance was Nivin Pauly. HE is Backkkkkk. What we were missing from him finally he gave us from this movie. Comedy and Nivin Pauly are best friends & when this both unites properly there is a riot of laughter at the big screen.

Pranav Mohanlal gave a decent performance.

The movie's backbone is the solid script and it's meticulously prepared screenplay.

Overall a watchable soothing experience..

First half horrible, 2nd half enjoyable
Revieweraz13 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This movie has an ensemble cast and that was the only thing to look forward too during the first half of the movie. The first half was long and boring and I would skip the 1st half if I were to watch it again. When Kalyani entered the movie everyone knew it was going to be horrible, she really could have done better. The dialouges in the 1st half were cringy and everyone hated it. The 2nd Nivin carried, that's the moment we knew the old Nivin was back. There were a lot of cameo references, and seeing singers acting really felt great. Basil also did great and his acting was amazing, just the perfect movie to watch for them. Aju also did a great job, with acting the 2nd half dialogues and acting on the part of Nivin, Basil, and aju and asif Ali were amazing. Definitely give it a watch but it will be boring in the beginning.

Worst film in Vineeth's filmography as a director!
vinistar00720 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The first half was filled with melodrama, cliche and cringe acting. Only saving grace was Dhyan to an extent.

The film starts to liven after the interval.

The standout performance is by Nivin Pauly and excellent acting by Basil Joseph and Neeraj Madhav in their cameo roles. Special mention to Aju as well.

Pranav is the weak link here. He has not acted badly, but his introduction song is so terrible that the negative aftereffects linger on.

The script is also weak. Murali himself handing over his tune to the Music director despite the MD's reservations and then going back to him after the song becomes a massive hit and we as an audience are supposed to stand by Murali and hate the MD. Illogical and cringe worthy script.

The only reason to watch this movie is for Nivin Pauly, else complete waste of time.

A delightful watch
tessajose11 April 2024
Vineeth Srinivasan's latest film is a rollercoaster of emotions, reminiscent of the classic Mohanlal-Sreenivasan collaborations of old. Despite its occasional narrative lags, which he employs to delve deep into character development, the movie emerges as a delightful entertainer, immersing viewers in the intricacies of filmmaking and the individuals who bring stories to life on screen.

Vineeth's comedic touch is evident throughout the film, with humor woven into the fabric of each scene. From cleverly crafted dialogue to subtle nuances in character interactions, the humor resonates at multiple levels, never failing to elicit a chuckle from the audience. One of the standout features of the film is its exceptional background music and memorable songs, which leave a lasting impression long after the credits roll. The music serves as a powerful narrative tool, enhancing the emotional impact of key moments and drawing viewers deeper into the story.

While Vineeth's penchant for elongated narrative may test the patience of some viewers, particularly in his exploration of character relationships, the film ultimately delivers on its promise of entertainment. However, there is a lingering sense that it could have been more streamlined, with certain scenes feeling overly elaborate or populated with unnecessary characters.

Nivin Pauly's portrayal of an actor grappling with the pressures of nepotism in the industry feels particularly poignant, perhaps echoing his own experiences with social media scrutiny. His performance adds depth and authenticity to the film, grounding it in the realities of the modern filmmaking landscape.

The ensemble cast, a trademark of Vineeth's films, is as impressive as ever, with each actor bringing their character to life with skill and nuance. However, the sheer number of characters may feel overwhelming at times, detracting from the central narrative focus. In terms of messaging, the film eschews overt social commentary in favor of a more introspective exploration of the filmmaking process. It serves as a love letter to the craft of filmmaking and the dedication of those who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring stories to life.

Overall, Vineeth Srinivasan's latest offering is a heartfelt ode to the world of cinema, infused with humor, emotion, and memorable music. While it may not be without its flaws, the film succeeds in capturing the essence of the filmmaking experience, leaving audiences entertained and perhaps even inspired to reflect on their own relationship with the movies.

Nithin Molly 🗣
ab1n_abh1lash19 April 2024
Alright ... I've got a lot of thoughts on this one, so I will try to keep it short, keyword try*.

Now, where do I start ... the songs, were meh, some were alright, but we've had better from Vineeth, 'Madhu Pakaroo' is decent though. The BGM and the rest of the soundtrack was apt for this genre in general, and did accompany certain scenes really well.

Now the storyline itself, nothing special, very predictable, and all, the first half you do feel a bit of a drag here and there, (the movie is almost 3 hours) and the funny thing is the first half and second half of this, lowkey felt like two different films, obviously there is a change of setting, new characters and all that are introduced. But like the first half itself had a climax, and that part was concluded so you would think 'oh, it's finished' - and obviously it's not.

Like I'm going to be honest, the Kalyani x Pranav love side-story didn't hit as much as it should've and felt a bit forced, as it didn't really have a significant impact on the rest of the film. And some scenes were a bit ... cringe. OK, now it looks like I'm hating on the movie, bear with me. It's a Vineeth film, and that's his style and it's fine, we already know that and accept it.

Next, performances, this is easily Dhyan's career best no joke (cause all his other individual films are flops) like he was very mature, and his comedic timing was pretty good, now coming to Pranav, he's like (being Mohanlal's son and all there's always been a lot of pressure on him ever since he came into the industry - why is blud waffling) he was alright, like he wasn't bad or anything, and you could feel a bit of vintage mohanlal vibes occasionally; mannerisms and all, but Dhyan did score more than him.

Aju Varghese came, added some humour, then Basil came added some MORE humour, Neeraj Madhav had a hilarious small role as well, and then ...

The man, the myth, the legend, NIVIN PAULY, sorry "NITHIN MOLLY" came, the fact is I went to see this film JUST for him, and see him on the big screen again, and I WAS NOT disappointed. As soon as, he arrived the theatre went crazy and all his scenes were peak, we literally did "get him back", his energy was absolutely amazing, like deadass could not stop laughing. Like his character, was him playing as himself pretty much, and he was trolling himself, calling people out for body-shaming him, all his previous films being flops etc. And like essentially it is 4th wall breaking and quite literally a message to his haters. And that one scene, got so much applause and cheers from the audience, it was lit. A little bit of overacting, but again his character literally demanded it, and it was so entertaining. Oh yeah, and there was so many fun references to other movies, and real life internet personalities. And a lot of cameos. Like the film is lowkey a tribute to malayalam cinema, and a wake up call for this current generation of directors.

Jeez oh, I think you know what I am about to say, NIVIN PAULY carried the film, or at least made it significantly better.

Dhyan did pretty well, Pranav was alright, and the comedy although a bit inconsistent, there was more hits than misses. Again, if you were to watch this at home, you would probably skip through some scenes, and that's why certain movies will only work with a lively audience, and a proper 'theatre experience'.

OK, to summarise, a 'typical vineeth sreenivasan film', definitely a family padam, and yeah, once again, I didn't hate the film or anything, it's a nice feel-good picture, I just didn't like certain aspects, but as a whole it is decent.

Now, if you actually read allat, respect.

A NICE MEDIOCRE FEEL GOOD MOVIE
nairarjun-5185124 April 2024
Overall if you think its a 7.2 movie. To discuss here is the character and the dialogue delivery by each actor pranav mohanlal was ok .dhyan was good .aju varghese and neeraj madhavan were the only positives of this film and i didnt like much of nivin Pauly's comedy dont know why? Was i over expecting or it is just over glorified by the reviewers . Basil was also good acts the same asin other film such as jan.e.man,falimy,etc.

Neeraj madhavans role was small but he gave us the right amount of comedy and ajuvarghese too nivin also gave a little bit as much as i liked . Plot was nice . All the kerala part in the movie sucks the movie starts after they reach madras . Climax is also good ... Was a nice feel good movie.

Good movie
ammums-9659713 April 2024
Amrit Ramnath's songs, mixing yesteryear elements in the right proportions with contemporary music, also keep the audience interested in the proceedings. The song 'Nyabagam' would surely be on the loop for many music lovers. As for direction, Vineeth isn't dwelling in his familiar territories - be it Tamil Nadu elements or nostalgia - in an annoying fashion though they are very much present, and the film doesn't reek of 'feel-goodness' either unlike his previous outings.

If you can survive its first half relying on soothing music, you are in for a fun ride powered by Nivin Pauly in its second. The film is also worth a watch if you love movies about movies.

Wasted 2 hours!
athulsalappattu25 April 2024
Dhyan's performance in the film is stellar, but the overall engagement of the movie falls short. Despite sprinkles of humor, it disappoints, especially considering Vineeth Srinivasan's esteemed reputation as a director. The film seems more preoccupied with showcasing the inner workings of the cinema industry rather than delivering a cohesive narrative. While insights into filmmaking may intrigue some, they prove to be more of a distraction for the average viewer. Dhyan's portrayal shines amidst this backdrop, but it's not enough to salvage the lackluster storytelling. The audience is left wanting more depth and resonance, similar to Srinivasan's previous works. Despite technical prowess and commendable efforts from the cast and crew, the film fails to fully engage, leaving viewers disconnected and unfulfilled. Ultimately, it feels like a missed opportunity to deliver a compelling cinematic experience that truly resonates with the audience.

Heartfelt movie
revathytnair18 April 2024
Despite popular opinion about a lag in the first half, I found it engaging as it delved deep into the struggles and early life of the main characters, creating a beautiful dramatic atmosphere with comedic elements woven in. Each character was portrayed exceptionally well. The second half, however, was a true delight, especially thanks to Nivin Pauly's humorous performance, marking a remarkable comeback. While Nivin shines, Dhyan's unexpected brilliance left me in awe. Pranav also impressed, and their on-screen chemistry worked wonders. With a bit more effort, Pranav could reach the heights of his father, effortlessly carrying his innocence and mannerisms throughout the film. Overall, "Varshangalku Shesham" is a captivating journey worth experiencing.

Vineet is Mallu Karan Johar
cksquare14 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
What was the idea here? Brotherhood friendship bromance !!

By interval it was over. There was nothing to be said more. But an entire half was added.

It was like watching an 80s film, cliché after cliches. I face-palmed when Annie came back. Bloody hell, can you not construct a better storyline here. Everything in the 2nd half undid any freshness that was left from first half.

Many people said super acting by Dhyan as an old person. What was his age? 70s? Why is he acting like he is suffering from some unconquerable disease.

Two friends, find each other and lose each other. Throughout the movie. Over and over again. Face palm o face palm!!

By the time the pulled the curtains, and delivered one hit together....... Nothing established to say how Dhyan is a good story teller or director. Ok so Pranav's character one, just one tune and we are told he is the greatest musician. He gives it away, and then suddenly acts toxic and we are to hate the receiver.

Ladies have no role in this. Kalyani acting prowess is so limited that she appears nice here too, because she has nothing to do.

Only people where redeemed by their performances were YG Mahendiran, Nivin and NJ to some extent.

Thanks Vineet. You have lost it!! Never again.

Vineeth is the master at invoking feelings in his audience
VigneswaraPrabhu14 April 2024
Recently, I've noticed this trend in Malayalam movies, where male friendships and companionship is explored in a healthy way. Such as Manjummel Boys, Premalu and now this one.

Vineeth Srinivasan is an old hand at making movies about people, their pasts, emotions and relationships. Whether it be the theme of pure love in Thattanthin Marayathu, the fear of losing a loved one in Thira, the nostalgia and life defining periods that we miss from our college days.

In Varshangalku Shesham, he similarly explores the erstwhile caricature of Malayalees passionate about Movies, migrating to southern movie hubs in madras and Kodambakkam, all with a dream in their hearts, and an uncertain future in their horizons.

As is the reality, most don't end up being the next MGR or Rajnikanth. Oftentimes having to give up on their dreams as the reality of life comes knocking on their doors.

But this movie doesn't entirely focus on the plight of such Indviduals. Rather, it uses it as a backdrop to explore the estranged friendship between two childhood pals, who both came to the city of dreams to fulfil their own.

How, a turn of fate, the flip of a coin, a bad decision, decides their futures in different directions. One who suffers from perceived failure, while the other ironically, suffering due to the pitfalls of success.

In regard to the actual movie, the first half, up until the interval block, sets up a period from half a century ago, the nuances and the nostalgia of the time, with plenty of pop culture references. Cinematically beautiful and picturesque, it does a great job in highlighting the contrasts between the natural rustic rural beauty of Kerala in the seventies, versus the hustle and bustle, glamour and glitter of the tinsel town in Tamil Nadu, where dreams come to die.

At one point you begin to be concerned, as the story seemed to take a more melodramatic tone. It's dramatic and emotional, but toes the line of venturing into sappy territory.

But the filmmaker, almost as an acknowledgement of this sentiment felt by the viewer, shifts gears and does a 180, taking the story to a contemporary setting, while at the same time filling it with satirical, self-referential, self-critical, as well as fourth wall breaking meta narrative, which, I'm pleased to say, gets more hits than misses.

The biggest surprise of the self-half is definitely the utterly bombastic and scene stealing performance by actor Nivin Pauly, a Vineeth regular, who, plays on screen a satirical, hyper-inflated, almost caricaturish version of himself, Nitin Molly. (lol).

Something also needs to be said about actor-director Basil Joseph, who is someone improving his acting skills with each role he assays. He has great chemistry with all the other characters, especially his comedic timings and counters with Nivin/Nitin. The duo perhaps is responsible for some of the biggest laughs elicited from the audience.

Nivin chews every scene he's in, poking fun at his own expense, as well as bevy of criticisms he's been faced with over the years, especially in light of his series of box-office duds.

But this is not an egotistic star trying to one-up their critics. Rather, someone who's very much aware of them, and is willing to poke fun at them, and at himself, at the expense of giving an entertaining performance.

In regard to the Deuteragonists, I'm pleased to say that both Dhyan and Pranav are competent in their portrayals. Pranav has improved himself as an actor. But as he has himself stated, Pranav is not committed full time as an actor. Which is clear as we can still see there are places where he can improve and refine as a performer. Hoping he is able to do so in the future. While Hridayam, and now Varshangalku Shesham seems to be received well by the audience, we are still waiting for a performance which Pranav can call his own.

The real surprise however, is Dhyan Srinivsan. The self-proclaimed easy going back-bencher, under the able direction of his brother Vineeth, has perhaps puts forth an earnest and understated performance, a career best perhaps, after his much-underrated debut in Thira.

This movie has a large cast of characters, who appear in everything ranging from cameos to supporting roles, all performed well.

There are references, particularly tied to the lead actors, rather their parents, Mohanlal & Sreenivasan, who were at their time a phenomenal onscreen pair in their own right.

The only thing I would take away from the movie, is that the story could've explored the events surrounding the estrangement of the main characters with a bit more depth. But it is understandable why those sections could've been shortened.

Another aspect is the songs. While they're melodious and soulful, they don't have the same memorability as Vineeth's previous venture. And I think, in regard to a movie with the backdrop of movies, and music, should've had songs which were able to elevate the emotions even further.

A last word. In light of the almost discriminatory decision by PVRs to not screen any Malayalam movies, all over India, as a native spectator, I hope that the movies releasing this week and going forwards, are able to gain acceptance from the audience and continue to do well in theatres.

We Malayali audiences don't really care if our movies enter some trumped up 100 crore clubs. As long as the makers of good projects manage to get rewarded for their efforts. And thus, have the incentive to continue making such memorable movies.

Boring, meaningless film
rahul-2186515 April 2024
Better to watch paint dry than to try and make sense of this film. Like many are pointing here, nepotism ruined it. A script was hashed together to promote somebody's kid and. . disaster! Why make a movie, when you have nothing to say? Stop making sequels for the money and to promote someone and instead focus on making memories for the audience! Vineet's work is becoming mediocre, thinking the audience will chew on anything. Anyways, this serves as a good reminder to not waste my time and money and to wait for the reviews to come out before deciding to watch a film. Learn from a simple movie like Premalu - people just want a story worth paying attention to.
