Been there, done that.....
Chartreuse131 March 2023
This Lifetime movie was predictable and disappointing. It centers on a mother and daughter who move into a new home and begin to hear lots of noises within its walls and things that move and go bump in the night. Ghosts? So, they ask the previous owner about it. He chalks it up to being in a new house and getting used to it. Trouble is he's still attached to the house and is having a hard time giving it up. This plot is old and overused and there are lots of Lifetime movies with this backstory. I was expecting more here but the wooden acting and plot twist in the final minutes couldn't save this movie. I don't recommend and say Skip it.

Creepy and Frustrating
rhonnie-4313928 April 2023
I watched the whole thing even though I thought the mother was a complete idiot. How can she be so stupid? She is so quick to trust a complete stranger over her own child. I kind of think she is so desperate for a man that she is willing to throw away her common sense. She may have low self esteem. She is bending over backwards for this weirdo dude she just met.

Furniture being moved and thuds in the middle of the night and she still stays in the house. Lifetime movies are so predictable. I have nothing better to do with my time. They are somewhat entertaining and not traumatizing like some other movies out there so...

Noisey!
chrisholt-8052021 April 2023
I don't really know how to describe this film otger than noisey!

The story line isn't the best but it is watchable. I've seen worse. The one thing I couldn't stand though was all the added extra audio.

Watch and listen to it, every footstep made the same noise no matter the surface, the shoe or the person. Every creaky door was the same creak. It was like for the entire film they had a choice of 10 sound effects and for me it devalued the film.

At the end of the day no matter how good or bad a story is, the music and sounds add to that richness and for me I had to walk away and come back a few times due to how annoying and repetitive the limited sound set was.

Movie Mashup Madness
NitinKannur29 March 2023
It's always disappointing to come across a movie that is clearly devoid of originality and creativity, and unfortunately, this movie is good example.

From start to finish, the movie appeared to be a mixture of ideas taken from other, more successful films. It was as if the filmmakers had thrown together a bunch of scenes from various movies and hoped that no one would notice the lack of originality.

The plot was so predictable that it was almost laughable. Every twist and turn could be seen coming from a mile away, and it felt like the filmmakers weren't even trying to surprise the audience. How can someone not know about their house they are living, did they order their house from amazon?

Would never reccomend but we did get a great deal of laughs the running scenes in this movie were beyond hilarious 😂 we now are making a new Hobbie out of this we are gonna find a list of terrible movies and pic out the funniest parts of the movies we watch. I want to thank everyone that was involved in the making of this. I will also say that we did get the best five minutes of acting out of the detective though congratulations on being the best part of it.

Another crap Andrea movie!
haroot_azarian21 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Andrea Bogart does it again! She keeps taking on parts in the most awful movies. And to add to that she always gets the part of the clueless idiot!

Like another contributor said the mom (Sara) believed the words of someone she hardly knew over her own daughter. According to herself her ex used to put her down all the time! I don't blame him!

Again as the contributor said she must have been desperate for a relationship to turn deaf ears to her daughter!

But then again the daughter is not the total innocent angel herself, sneaking Noah in through her bedroom window and when she gets caught she says she took Noah's history book by mistake which totally looks dubious.

This movie failed miserably but oddly enough the same house was used for another Lifetime movie with a similar theme, psycho previous owner wanted the house back. That one was Killer in the Backyard with Brittany Underwood! That movie even had a scene with the same pool too!

Very cliched, lacks depth
mishra_manu31 March 2023
I watched this movie purely to kill time in the afternoon. The storyline is very run-of-the-mill. What really put me off is the lack of depth in the characters. They all sound as if reading their lines just for the sake of it. The mother-daughter relationship is way too shallow. And the character of the boyfriend played by the actor is, again, very in-your-face. The plot had some potential, but unfortunately, got ruined by a whole lot of bad acting. Watch this movie only if you're stuck at the airport, or have free time in your hands that you wish to kill. My condolences to the director and all the actors involved.

Wastage of time...
ae005051 May 2023
Can't believe it. I watched this. I normally collect movies and I have a folder for boring collection. This movie can't go there even and I am deleting it.

Worst movie and pathetic acting. Story was aslo not very powerful but a good acting and wise dirction could have added some flavour to it. It failed to impress me.

Do people fild girl friend so easily while in USA. I have been there and I did not see any such thing happening.

The story tried to take a thrilling end and again failed due to the worst acting of almost all the characters. The twist failed to do the job. A clear evidence of someone breaking in and even leaving an expensive camera, did not go the police record was highly unnatuaral. I have plenty of other movies, I did not know why I selected this one to watch.... Deleting it from the collection.

Honor your mother
puigness10 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The way this kid talks to her mother!! I would have lost my teeth. What did the mother do for a living that she could afford to live in that creepy ugly house in a great neighborhood? It's not like she was the president of a corporation. She had a cubbyhole job. Bad acting, bad decisions. Why would anybody get close to a guy who lost the house to foreclosure and he shows up at your door? All of a sudden he's your boyfriend? The scene where the detective is lurking around and the mother and the creep are sitting on the sofa holding hands? They've known each other only two weeks! She's too long in the tooth to be so naive.

A Housing Crisis
lavatch9 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Sara and her teenage daughter Jordyn move into a new home after Sara has separated from her domineering husband Frank. But, quite unexpectedly, strange nocturnal occurrences begin to take place in their home. Sara's co-worker Lucie suspects a Poltergeist!

For the audience, there is not much suspense about the disturbance, as it becomes clear that the previous owner, Collin, is obsessed with the house where he was raised. After losing the home to foreclosure, the clever Collin is camping out in a small niche and tormenting Sara and Jordyn from inside the home.

The film suffered from pacing problems, but picked up in the home stretch. The filmmakers came up with a creative false ending sequence that demonstrated how Collin was not the only one obsessed with the house.

There was a good ebb-and-flow to the relationship of mother and daughter. As she admits herself, Jordyn could be a brat. But a sensitive bonding with her mom slowly unfolds. The mom and daughter needed all of their collective resources to make it through a rough housing crisis.

Don't waste your time!
anndoughertyemail24 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
**Spoolers ahead!

The acting wasn't bad. Jordan's attitude and relationship with her. Mom was MOSTLY realistic. Otherwise, the script was so predictable that a ten year old could have figured out every unoriginal plot twist, long before they happened. As another reviewer mentioned, we have seen all of this before, and in better films. I have written better material in middle school.

No one would have stayed in that house without having the loud nightly noises investigated by a professional. And who makes that amount of noise, when they want to remain hidden? What was the "information" that Luce found about the house? Why didn't. Sara sell the house to the big corporation who wanted to pay millions for it?

Really Dumb Characters
Mehki_Girl14 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Literally dumb. The daughter is an absolute brat. The mother was, OMG, just...a moron.

I put this movie on because I knew it would be awful and I wanted something I wouldn't have to focus on so at first I could only hear was the mother's voice and she sounded dumb, naive, and clueless and I'm being kind so my comment will be posted!

Anyway, the actress playing the daughter had the most annoying voice. Who talks like that? Her vocal intonations were grating!

Okay, getting to the story. Mom is divorced or separated and buys a house which apparently was built by the seller's grandfather. He suddenly pops up and makes a point to tell her how much he loves the house and she's living in his house. Tells her often. She suspects nothing.

Weird things start happening...sounds and funiture being moved. Mom never suspects the original owner.

Nope.

Her, also dumb, friend tells her it must be ghosts. Yes, she said it must be ghosts, but not the creepy guy who she knows about. But ghosts.

Finally, the daughter's two braincells rub against each other and she finally suspects him and does a Google search.

Mom finds a camera on a tree and believes the owner (still lurking about) that it doesn't work and hasn't been spying on her.

Now you have a teenage daughter. Stuff is being moved around in the middle of the night and this guy keeps showing up and you do nothing. Don't call the cops. Nothing. Just pooh pooh everything.

Not only that, you hear sounds outside your house and don't call the cops, you open your door to check it out. See a man in the shadows, don't scream, run back inside, bolt your door. Nope, you stand there waiting to be attacked. It's the abusive ex. Don't even suspect him.

Then after the daughter tells you, he called you a name and you found a creepy picture, you ask the creepy owner, should I call the cops? Nope, you don't. Just sit with the creep drinking.

Her friend goes missing after telling her she's coming over. Creepy guy is right there inside her house while she's talking to the cops.

The cop, apparently a genius, but maybe not, first suspects someone is getting in, but believes creepy guy saying the daughter is making it up. Not a husband or even a dad.

I'm up to the point Ave waiting to see the the creeps conversation clues in the cop.... He finds creepy guy's lair and picks up a cup with his bare hands. Who wrote this crap?!

The script is awful, so's the dialogue. Everything else, sound design, cinematography is okay.

I give this 3 stars for being so bad you actually keep watching to see how bad it'll get!

At one point a character says the word, "brainless".

Yep that sums up this heaping hot pile!

Who makes these it has to be someone that disrespected their own parents growing up
tamrbrwn-596475 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Ok first off I'm tired of them casting females playing the just weakest passive parts ever what Luther is going to keep letting their will annoying on child talk crazy to them I see a pattern of this with certain groups on lifetime and it just makes the movies ridiculous your crazy mom don't talk to me mom did you knock get out of here I hate you but I'll go any and every where and let a guy in my window with a dude I just met running down the street I'll treat him better then my mother I'll talk to him better then my mother this woman that plays the mom is so bland sorry not sorry I would get tired of playing these roles or she may just be this way let's everyone walk over her talk to her any kind of way who automatically meets someone and 3 minutes later they are in your home and people wonder why people disappear in a day while the daughter is checking up on the creepy guy her mom seeing she should have been looking online about the guy she was letting in her window in a day that's just crazy at least her mom didn't invite the creepy guy into her room yet you think someone has been in the house but no police is called and yes Jordan I would take the creepy guys side because you don't respect me either who is the parent on here really did anyone direct the way the mom acts it's just hard to watch.

Horrible
ablondmoment10 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
What happened to lifetime movies wow they use to be so good years ago. But these over and over are just awful!. The mom and the daughter and the worse actors I have ever tried to watch. Horrible. The mother what a horrible actor this woman it lol its laughable. Then the dad shows up and he is just as bad at acting. How does lifetime pick actors? As chept as they can I think. Lifetime needs to work on making good movies once again with good actors. That would go back to worth watching.

They need to hire much better writers. You could tell what was going to happen it was no surprise. This type of movie has been done so many times.

home NOT alone...too funny
ryleilove17 March 2024
The title is hilarious. The acting is laughable. Especially the daughter. Her acting is as bad as her annoying character. She sounds like she's reading and remembering her lines, especially when her and Noah were in the pool talking about following ugh I forgot his name. She is really hard to ingest.

This is a lifetime movie so it's nothing to write home about, nor is it an award winner. It's also predictable. Not only the plot but the script. I heard what they were going to say right before they said it.

I'm starting to think Lifetime hires writers, producers, directors etc straight out of school (both high school and secondary). If that's the case, I can appreciate these movies a lot more. Otherwise, my goodness. I'd be so embarrassed to be a seasoned individual whose name is attached to these projects.

All in all, I will continue to watch LMN movies. Ahahahaha all that for me to say this. But it's true. Terrible movies like LMN, Tubi and Netflix originals are my guilty pleasure. Shrugs. Thank you for keeping us entertained no matter what. All press is good press so whether we hate it, like it or love it, we're watching.

Watch if you have nothing else to do
marylu-0124623 March 2024
I never watch Lifetime movies but a rainy Saturday led me to this. With a couple of exceptions (the detective and the daughter), the acting was terrible, especially by the mother. Not only did the writers make her character very dumb, they also stole a line, almost verbatim, from Seinfeld: "You like him, like him?" "What are you, in high school?" If I were Larry David, I would check into that.

There were a few suspenseful moments (knocking sounds in the middle of the night), but once she found furniture moved around in the morning, she still didn't call the authorities?

Bottom line, don't bother to waste your time. Keep channel surfing.
