A mess
Don't see this film unless (a) you're very familiar with Nicaraguan history and politics and (b) you hate the present Nicaraguan government.
The director has patched together very old footage, old footage, and some new footage to make a film that is extremely hard to follow. (And even harder to enjoy.). In between the jumbled historical footage, she has interspersed shots of gang members, garbage dumps, vultures, and starving cats.
This is an ugly, angry film. If you want to learn about the Contra war, see "Carla's Song," which I also reviewed for IMDb. If you are determined to see this movie, and if it comes out on DVD, it will work on the small screen. My advice--don't bother.
