The low reviews here are correct. This was painful to watch. The acting is not good, but the storyline was ridiculous.

I always go into a movie with the understanding that you have to give some wiggle room to the writers. In order to move a story, sometimes things have to happen that aren't realistic. That's only excusable if the rest of the movie makes sense! This movie did not make any sense.

I don't know what it takes to make a serial killer, but I'm sure that the reasons given here are not adequate. And it made for some scenes that were just dumb.

I regret watching this movie. It was terrible.

It's been 15mins

Only watching this cause my better half wants to see what happens. It's been 15 mins but I already see how dismally bad this is. The acting is quite sub par. It seems more like an art film rather than a thriller! Netflix seems to be in favour of providing subpar content now a days. It's unfortunate but the story had potential as far as I see it. I feel the budget didn't allow the makers of this film to make the right decision. Had this movie been made about 15-20 years back, it may have been successful. Reviews here seems to be on spot. It's the acting... God it's just so so unfathomably bad!!

How can someone make a movie this terrible

This is easily the worst movie I have seen this year. The acting is terrible, and the script is next to stupid. Even the above average production quality couldn't help this movie. Seems like the director wants to make the audience dumb. The only motivation behind completing this movie was the fact that I am a fan of mysteries and I just wanted to finish it off. I am wondering how this made it into Netflix. Even if you have two hours to do nothing, there are better things to do than investing time on this one. For a moment, I thought this is a debut movie from the director but turns out he had done a handful of movies in the past. Bottom line, just terrible!

Murder story little terrible, but the criminal finding story is interesting

Operation Mayfair is a decent movie. Shows the aftereffects of you not being treated in good way by society or family. It may lead to meantal and psychological issues. Good way they have presented the movie in an entertaining and interesting way. Same time, this a murder mystery story. Why is it called Operation Mayfair I do not know, maybe the operation of finding the criminal. Nice acting by the cast particularrly Jmmy Shergill and Ankur Bhatia. I had a nicce time watching the movie. Few stars I would remove because I couldn't connect much to their charcters, but the stooy was intense. I had a decent expereince watching the movie. I rate Operation Mayfair 8 stars on 10. One time watch movie. Nothing special except the murder scene of the indivial.. I felt little awkward and different. You can watch this movie for timepass. Not a boring movie. Songs and music are also fine.

Bast movie

Ankur Bhatia sir really played a role of serial kiler in darkway, it's really heart wrenching to see, If you go into this movie with an open mind you'll enjoy it. It's clearly a throwback to the golden age of cinema. A lot of reviewers experienced genre mismatch expecting a score-fi horror movie, but if you instead take the movie as it is, it's well done, well-paced and quite a lovely film. I felt tension, I laughed, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. For the low reviews here they are just basic people who review based on their expectations instead of what the director presented. I love this movie very wonderful movie.

Only good thing is Jimmy Shergill

Except for Jimmy, its all poor cast choices, poor acting, poor voiceover, poor direction. Average storyline, and you predict the villain within 10 minutes! Was absolutely unnecessary to shoot in UK or to have a English cast. Not sure why JS did this movie, but then he was the only good ingredient of the entire movie. Songs were another unnecessary component. Could have been a 100X better movie if it had a better cast with real acting skills. This movie could be made way better within the same budget. Poor execution, storyline, casting, acting, directing. Dialogue writer also didn't seem to have done a basic homework of how professional's address each other in the UK.

An ultra substandard content which is hard to process. Acting , direction, are WORST.wish I can give -100 😂. A 10 years old could have done a better job. Basically this Bollywood flick tried to showcase how the MET police will work in 10 years time in the UK by taking over all the major government departments by Indians 😂. The most funniest was we have Indian home minister , finance minister and Prime minister.

Plot was interesting had multi dimensions to steer and manipulate the storyline but all was ruined because no brain was used.

Only good thing was jimmy Shergill has done a decent act.

Why spend money in foreign location for shood and hire actresses with not acting skills.

Disaster

Just twenty minutes into the movie and oh man disaster , what have you done Director! Vedika Dutt 0.1/10 acting for the role. No idea y Jimmy Shergill will be called back and no one listens to him lol! It's again vedika in every scene trying to kill us with that acting. This film is a utter classic example of the fact that no matter how much budget you allocate for a overseas shoot, your film is gonna be screwed if you hire a bad director. This will go down as one of the worst movies ever directed in this decade. I am sure the director himself did not watch the movie during screening??? Do not dare to watch this movie,,, such a dumb direction and waste of money.

What could be a great story ruined

I don't know where to start the story has been let down with some really bad acting really bad casting and absolutely hopeless directing ! The news reporter looks like she was hired off the street with 0 acting skills .. best part is when chase scenes go from Canning Town through to Covent Garden honestly it's painful to watch how they ruined what could have been a great story. Attention to detail was completely missed. How did Netflix ever allow this thing on its stream are times that desperate? I hate to think what it cost to make this complete flop. Bollywood cinema has come so far but this sends Bollywood backwards.

Loved the performance (Kevin!! Ankur Bhatia)

I was entertained till end, good watch! I loved Kevin's role, his two personalities were interesting and the ending of how the killer maybe back in a few years was a good twist. Both the actors Kevin (Ankur Bhatia) & Amar (Jimmy Shergill) did phenomenal. The songs didn't go with the film and were non needed. Loved the shots of London. It could have been a more interesting plot if the killer wasn't revealed right away and a little less of the stepmother flashbacks but more focus on the killer being a husband, father, and his struggles. Otherwise great movie! Hoping there's a part 2, with a twist , I would surely watch it again.

Very suspensful movie The film story is that Amar Singh (Jimmy Shergill), a London police detective who is tasked with solving the case of a serial killer who is targeting young women. The killer leaves no clues behind, and Amar is forced to use all of his skills to catch him. As the investigation progresses, Amar begins to uncover a dark and twisted web of secrets that will change his life forever. Very great to see the movie. Very nice real story based movie. I like it. A Disappointing Thriller!!

The film is a disappointment on many levels. The plot is predictable and the characters are one-dimensional. The acting is also subpar, with Shergill giving a particularly wooden performance.

The film's only saving grace is its cinematography. The film is beautifully shot, with some impressive visuals. However, this is not enough to save the film from being a complete bore. The film's biggest problem is its lack of suspense. There is no sense of danger or urgency, and the audience never feels like the characters are in any real danger. The film also suffers from some poor technical aspects, such as shaky camerawork and poor editing.

If you're looking for a good thriller, I would recommend avoiding Operation Mayfair. There are much better films out there that are worth your time.

How do you define bad acting?

If ever there was a movie that accurately defines the term 'bad acting' then this is it. The entire cast, be it the Indian or non-Indian actors perform like first timers, like they were picked off the streets, paid some cash and handed a script. The performances are lethargic, deadpan, forced, totally unconvincing and just lacking realism of every form. The only reason I sat through the entire film was purely out of curiosity to see how they ended up catching the killer. A story line that ought to have you on the edge of your seat ends up having you yawning within the first 30 minutes if you don't fall asleep before that.

Really Bad

This movie is so bad that it would take a long time to write out just all of the flaws in this movie. Not just the acting in this movie is poor but the script writing is atrocious.

Spoiler alert: magine a police team tasked with finding a serial killer that is on a budget working out of a room and.being tasked with a major crime case and being told that they don't have resources. Next any basic clues or facts are debated on whether to pursue or not, ex; the Alexa machine As well as the minister threats to close the investigation. The editing is really awful moving from one scene to the other that is not related happens quite a few times.

Perhaps they should have consulted real detectives to figure out the method of operation or even watch a few movies to understand how the operation is handled within a crime squad. Absolutely terrible movie don't watch or waste your time.

Worst Direction

Started watching Jimmy Shergill movie with very high expectations but direction of movie such a poor it felt like filim shooting was done using mobile 4k Camera. When they identify the killer, killer sets the term. Hero goes backs with family not sure why love story was even required. When hero was trying to chase villain it was the worst slow motion scene I have ever seen my whole life. Totally wasted 2 hours. Killer of the movie shown in first scene itself and the whole story was how he was hiding. Please save energy instead watch some Udmey learning course and upgrade your skills this movie will only give you headache and trauma.

If you're in the mood to unburden your mind of excess brain cells, then "Operation Mayfair" is the perfect vehicle for your intellectual lobotomy. Its unparalleled ability to make any semblance of plot or character development disappear faster than a magician's rabbit is truly astounding.

The plot centers around a detective hunting for a serial killer in London, but it's clear that the only thing being slaughtered here is good storytelling. Imagine a bunch of horror and thriller movie cliches thrown into a blender, poured into a mold, and served with a side of overacting - that's "Operation Mayfair" in a nutshell.

The director, Sudipto Sarkar, seems to have mistaken perplexity for suspense. The audience is left confused rather than thrilled, as the narrative hops, skips, and jumps without any coherence. The script, penned by Sarkar and Anthony Khatchaturian, is a masterclass in how not to write dialogue - it's so wooden you could build a shed with it.

The performances, led by Jimmy Shergill, Hritiqa Chheber, and Sammy Jonas Heaney, are as overdone as a burnt steak. Heaney's portrayal of...well, honestly, I'm not sure who he was portraying, is likely to go down in the annals of cinema as a case study in overacting. And as for the rest of the cast, let's just say that their performances make a soap opera look like a masterclass in subtlety.

The movie's 1 hour and 56 minutes running time feels more like a life sentence, with each minute dragging on longer than the last. The film's only saving grace? The end credits - a beautiful sight, if only for the relief they bring.

You can make a total crap movie with a bit of good production value and Netlix will throw it on their subscribers. Netflix isnt bothered they make money off their subscribers so they buy any trash.

Since its an indian movie you can excuse the high ranking police officials in London with thick indian accents and bad english. Then to add insult to injury majority of the indians have english names, like kevin lisa etc... like really?

Like other reviewers have said the acting is so bad, the lead officer is discussing the case in hindi while theres english members on the team. No suspense, no mystery, no build up just a 2 hour nonesense put together.

Gritty storyline Great performance

Just finished watching it. Great storyline slow burn keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the film. Another masterclass performance by Jimmy as usual. This is one of the best performances by Jimmy.

Amazing direction keeps you guessing what's going to happen next. Every scene directed doing full justice to the character. Dialogues has been kept simple yet powerful fully relevant to the scenes. Not a typical desi tadka drama film but a unique script with real life characters. It shows you don't need big budget or massive star cast if you have good direction sense and story. A must watch👍🏻👍🏻

Pathetic direction, storyline, acting (except Jimmy Shergill), music... damn how terrible! Total torture.

Too many technical flaws, too much of dealing according to the "Indian" system. I am pretty sure laws and rules are not the same as one could do in India.

The actors seem to not even have passed a basic audition. They are not even rookies, they need to be sent to some acting school.

Usually I don't go by reviews and try to form my own opinion about any movie, but damn for the first time I felt I should have read some reviews before deciding to spoil my time and energy on this.

Don't watch, I don't recommend at all.

Director needs to quit!

Worst movie ever! Worst editing, Worst background score, overall a waste of time. Even some short films are way better than this. The director needs to quit making films. Jimmy Shergill was a good actor but he too has performed badly because of the director! The plot is inspired from english series Dexter but not even 0.000000001 percent close to it. People need to watch on their own risk and don't forget these are the 2 hours of your life you are going to loose unnecessarily if you decide to watch this film. I don't understand why even netflix choose to host this film on their platform. It needs to be taken down feom all the online platforms.

The acting so bad especially the female cast. Jimmy shergill is alright. I really dont understand how he agreed to do this filmd. But what what what was the writer thinking. What did the director shoot up that he made this. This is Nuts!!

The dialogues are so unnatural that its painfully cringey. Ewwwww If crime investigation is your genre and you clicked this movie you are going to be sorry like I am. The storyline is so forced and the plot itself sucks. Im not going to finish the movie and just wanted to spare others the waste of time so here I am. Do Not watch unless you wanna have a good laugh!

Worst Mystery Its not even a Mystery

I came here to write a review because i was so pissed at this movie. This might be the worst movie i have seen. I had so much expectations with the title and thought it might be a good thriller. This was such a nightmare and major disappointment don't even bother watching it. Its not even a Mystery the killer is right there and you think why this movie was made. This might be worst director or worst writer who ever that is. There is no vision in this movie even the director writers don't know what they are doing. Take my advice avoid it or watch to see how worst a movie can be made. Total Disaster finally i got closure.

The only thing one can expect watching this movie is mental stress. The whole movie felt like it was written by a amateur. The acting of the killer was really good. How even does the killer end up lose inspite of so many murders. Plus the protagonist of the story could not even run to catch the killer. I for one felt like it was a waste of time watching this as it not have good acting, the story line was borderline ridiculous inspite of having a good start. One could actually see the eyelashes of a victim move. Overall, the movie did not hit it off for the audience. It could have been a much better movie with a great storyline and such a good actor. The utilisation of them could've been much better.
