In Search of Mystery is satirical about movie making, identity and ego maniacs.

This is a surreal romp. I think for anyone who is trying to make int he biz, this is a tongue in cheek look at ego. From the talent, to the technical crew, all the way up to the executive on the production, seems that we all need a reality check. No one is perfect so there is no room for posers who are supposedly better than thou.

Is this the point of the movie? Who can tell, it's also "art". It can be interpreted freely, that comes through loud and clear for all intellectuals at heart.

All of the Myster Eys on the way to the conclusion are like fragments of the soul as it gets tempted by Hollywood style temptation. The lure of fame and power and whatnot. These many Myster Ey characters or wannabees could be taken as some sort of multiple personality analysis (psychologists take note)

Other characters such as the actors and actresses desperately seeking the amazing Mr.Ey movie mogul, they show the eagerness and naivety of those in the business. Those who are just waiting to be taken advantage of all starry-eyed. Some of them are likable, others are downright despicable and shameless.

For example, there is a goofy actress seeking him, called Yoko. This character says it all about the ones who are striving to make it in this crazy industry.

I think the message is that you've got to laugh at yourself every once in awhile, give yourself a pat on the back, we are all stars. Each and every one of us in the human race. You don't even have to be in movies.
