This show will hold a special place in my memory. Because it went from just some repetitive teasing gimmicks in the 1st season, to actually a very sweet and character-based romance by the 3rd season. It's one of those shows that has a very slow build up to the story and very slow progression in the characters. But that actually works because it's very much worth it in the end.
This movie is just made to give the audience what they want. I'm assuming that this is probably the conclusion to the series and it's a very sweet one. Most of this movie is just Takagi and Nishikata hanging out and you can just feel how far their relationship has come. Nishikata is more used to the teasing and more considerate of takagi's feelings. Takagi is a bit more honest and gentle towards Nishikata. And most importantly, both of them are more true to their own feelings.
One of the things I really admire in this show is Takagi's character. At first I never really understood her and frankly found her a bit unfair and annoying. But as this series went on I just understood her character more and more as there are very rare hints to why she acts the way she does and what teasing Nishikata actually means to her. And by the end she was my favourite character. And this movie just went on to confirm that, and gave a very satisfying arc to her relationship with Nishikata.
I do think that this movie has some plot points and sequences that feel out of place and disjoint from the show and the story.
But overall I liked this movie and it just made me admire this story more.
