Halsey revealed she has been privately battling serious health issues.
The singer-songwriter, whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, shared a series of videos on Instagram Tuesday, where she appears to be documenting medical treatments over an unknown period of time.
“I feel like an old lady,” Halsey said in the first clip while rubbing her legs in apparent pain. “I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick. At 30, I’m having a rebirth and I’m not gonna be sick and I’m gonna look super hot and have lots of energy and I’m just gonna get to re-do my 20s in my 30s.”
The “Without Me” artist also released a new song, an acoustic guitar ballad titled “The End” and announced her upcoming fourth studio album, a follow-up to 2021’s If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power.

Halsey is beginning a new album era with “The End,” a meditative acoustic track that follows their battle with illness.
With Alex G and Michael Uzowuru assisting in production, Halsey ruminates on the onset and subsequent depression resulting from their ailments, and finding safety and security in their partner. Throughout “The End,” Halsey narrates multiple trips to the doctor, feeling like “the end of the world” is nigh, and how “there’s poison in my brain and in my blood,” eventually ending the song by asking their partner “And I know it’s not the end of the world, but could you pick me up at 8?/ ‘Cause my treatment starts today.” Stream “The End” below.
After giving birth to their first child Ender in 2022, Halsey revealed on Instagram that they had experienced a myriad of health complications. “I was hospitalized for anaphylaxis a few times and had some other stuff going on.

Halsey’s new era is forthcoming as the singer surreptitiously revealed on a mysterious website that a new single is arriving June 4.
This past week, Halsey had been linking fans to a website dubbed For My Last Trick; the website is unrelated to the release of Eminem’s “Houdini,” for which he coincidentally teased, “For my last trick, I’m going to make my career disappear.”

Halsey’s starting over. In April, the singer departed from Capitol Records after nearly a decade with them, having signed with the label’s Astralwerks imprint in 2013. Their time with Capitol Records included the release of all four of their studio albums, from 2015’s Tumblr-dominating Badlands to 2021’s Nine Inch Nails-produced triumph If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. But the next strides fans will see Halsey take will be backed by her new label home: Columbia Records.

Thus far, reviews for the film have been overwhelmingly positive. One critic called the performance a “career best” for Sweeney. Another revealed that it cemented her status as a bonafide movie star. Everyone likes everything now. In the years since streaming began to dominate listening habits, this twisted mantra has taken over the music industry, driven more by the desire for some algorithmic utopia than reality. Because everyone has access to everything, the theory goes, they must automatically like it all. It’s a credo at the very core of the mindset of the new look, pop-leaning Reading & Leeds festival. And today, everyone-likes-everything-now (Elen) comes up against its ultimate test.

Sasha Lane stars as Bobbi in Hulu's new limited series "Conversations With Friends," based on the Sally Rooney novel of the same name. In the years since she burst onto the scene in her breakout role in 2016's "American Honey," she's built up quite an impressive résumé. But she was just a teenager when the movie's director, Andrea Arnold, discovered her while she was out partying with her friends.
Lane was 19 when Arnold approached her on the beach in Florida during spring break and asked her to audition for the movie, which is about a group of teens who sell magazines door to door as they travel the country. "Really, I didn't know anything about acting, so I was surprised and a bit wary," Lane told The Guardian. "When we started improvising, I began slowly to feel comfortable. It seems almost overwhelming now but, back then at that moment,...

The Grammy for Best Alternative Album has been awarded to some of the most critically acclaimed albums of the past couple of decades. Winners like Radiohead’s “In Rainbows,” Bon Iver’s “Bon Iver,” David Bowie’s “Blackstar,” and most recently Fiona Apple’s “Fetch the Bolt Cutters” remain classics for music lovers. This year the race is one of the tightest ever, with a group of contenders including past Grammy nominees and exciting new bets. But all five were showered with praised by music journalists. Let’s take a look at each nominee.

This album came out at the start of the eligibility season, so it’s safe to say it carries some passion to have edged out more recent contenders for the nomination. Imax grossed $95,000 live simulcasting the Kanye West (with special guest Drake) benefit concert at the L.A. Coliseum to 35 Imax theaters — a one-night event Thursday that included seven sellouts despite being available to stream live on Amazon Prime. The show, Imax’ first live concert event, comes as the large format exhibitor experiments with content to attract new audiences.

Grammy nominated director Colin Tilley, honored this year at the EnergaCamerimage International Film Festival of cinematography for outstanding achievement in music videos, is a multi-award winning American who has created a remarkable range of work – and more than 200 videos – for artists and companies from Justin Bieber to Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.

Amid the questions about what Grammy categories Halsey belongs in with her increasingly alternative-leaning music, there’s at least one division where she’ll likely be in contention that cuts across all genres: best music film. She starred in and wrote “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power,” a 50-minute film that premiered in IMAX theaters Aug. 26 and had its streaming bow on HBO Max Oct. 7. The movie tells a narrative about a expectant queen who falls afoul of her country’s ruling class, with plenty of interstitial silences — pregnant pauses, if you will — and a few bits of dialogue to further set apart a highly ambitious project that had Halsey’s own second-term pregnancy as both a challenge and a boon in filming.

With the VMAs giving us an indication of this year’s best music videos and the Grammy deadline approaching (it’s September 30), it’s time we analyze the contenders for Best Music Video and Best Music Film. For the first time in Grammy history, the race to accrue nominations and ultimately the final contest itself may come down to a battle of the teenaged girls. Olivia Rodrigo, a newcomer at 18, and Billie Eilish, veritably a veteran now at 19, are the leading contenders to pick up multiple nods when the nominees for the 2022 Grammy Awards are announced Nov. 23. Yes, Eilish, whose birthday is Dec. 18, will officially have graduated out of her teens by the time the ceremony takes place Jan. 23, but it’ll still be a prodigy-vs.-prodigy contest in which we can be assured that not many elder voters will be holding their preternaturally talented superstars’ youth against them.
Rodrigo and Eilish may be the only two stars who can be considered 100% locks to be nominated in the top three categories — album, record and song of the year — but the odds also favor Taylor Swift and Lil Nas X...

Kim Kardashian West opened her hosting stint on “Saturday Night Live” with a rapid-fire string of edgy jokes about her family, including a nod to her father’s history of defending accused double-murderer O.J. Simpson.
Wearing a bright pink body suit, Kardashian West made a reference to her late father, attorney Robert Kardashian, who was a close friend of Simpson. She noted that her father introduced her to the first Black person that she ever met. “Want to take a stab in the dark at who it was?” she said with a grin. She addressed Simpson’s sordid history of being accused of the brutal stabbing deaths of his ex-wife and her friend.
Having known Simpson “does leave a mark,” she said. “Or several. Or none at all. I still don’t know.”
Simpson, the former NFL great, was acquitted of murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman in 1995.

Kanye West‘s “Donda” was released on Sunday, August 29, after several weeks of anticipation, listening events, and rumored release dates. Its launch date was two days into the tracking week for the Billboard 200, but despite having less time to rack up listens, it debuted at number-one on the chart and had a bigger week than any other album this year so far (which will probably change with Drake‘s “Certified Lover Boy” just released). It also made history for West.
SEEKanye West ‘Donda’ reactions: Is it a ‘disappointment,’ and are collabs with Marilyn Manson and DaBaby total deal-breakers?
Despite mixed reactions from critics and music fans, “Donda” earned 309,000 equivalent album units, which are calculated by combining traditional album sales, individual track sales, and online streams. The vast majority of those units were from streaming, marking the year’s biggest streaming week for an album. And on top of that, it...

Donda stretches over 27 tracks and 108 minutes; it includes features from the Weeknd, Lil Baby, Jay-Z, Playboi Carti, and many, many more. “Hurricane,” “Jail,” and “Off the Grid” led the album’s charge, earning more than 20 million streams apiece.

“Candyman” was summoned to the top of domestic box office charts, collecting an impressive $22.37 million from 3,569 theaters in its first three days of release.
The R-rated slasher film, written by Jordan Peele and directed by “Captain Marvel 2” filmmaker Nia DaCosta, surpassed industry expectations despite fears the delta variant would keep people from going to the movies. Though multiplexes have struggled to sustain momentum as Covid-19 cases continue to surge, Hollywood has witnessed that new films available only in theaters (such as “Candyman” and last weekend’s champ “Free Guy”) have steadier ticket sales compared to tentpoles being offered simultaneously on streaming services (like “The Suicide Squad” and Hugh Jackman’s “Reminiscence”).
“Candyman” cost $25 million to produce — MGM financed and produced the film, while Universal handled marketing and distribution — and appears on track to become one of the rare pandemic-era releases to become profitable during its theatrical run. The sequel to the 1992 film,...

Halsey‘s concept album “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power” dropped on August 27. It’s the fourth studio album for the 26-year-old singer-songwriter, and it comes just a year-and-a-half after her previous release, 2020’s critically acclaimed “Manic.” Will this collection, inspired by her recent experience of pregnancy and childbirth, get her back to the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart? It would be her second album to do so.
Her debut album “Badlands” was released in 2015 and debuted at number-two with 115,000 album units, which are calculated by combining album sales, track sales, and online streams. Her followup, 2017’s “Hopeless Fountain Kingdom,” launched at number-one with 106,000 units. Then came “Manic,” which missed the number-one spot, launching in the runner-up position, but it vastly outperformed her previous albums in its first week, achieving 239,000 units. She only felt short of the top spot because she was up against Eminem, whose “Music...

The 26-year-old singer dropped their fourth album, If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, on Friday, Aug. 27. "There was publications that were like... You know, we were going out and trying to set up magazine covers based around the album release, and they were like, 'Yeah, but is she going to be pregnant?
