Edinburgh based DI Ray Lennox is paired up with DS Amanda Drummond, when schoolgirl Britney Hamill is taken off The Streets. Lennox is convinced that she's the latest in a long line of girls snatched by the same killer.
It's a very good first episode, one thing I must take issue with however, is the scheduling, we watched this forever ago on Britbox, and thought it would bet a Sunday evening slot soon after on ITV, instead it just seemed to be forgotten about, a real shame, audiences missed a cracker.
A great start, it put me in mind of a fusion between Rebus and Prime Suspect. How we've missed the Scottish crime classics, Rebus and Taggart, although the former is returning soon.
Yes Amanda is a little irritating, and at times it feels like the only thing she's missing is a box and a megaphone, but she's there for a purpose, she actually highlights several relevant issues. Hopefully her relationship with Lennox will cool down soon.
Dougray Scott was brilliant, a terrific performance, what a presence. Great to see Ken Stott also.
Excellent start.
9/10.
