Unfortunately, season 2 has been mostly a disappointment. The debut season in comparison was really intriguing, the story felt original and not really predictable. The characters felt quite complex and well written.
In this season, however, things have changed. It felt as if the show suddenly redefined the audience to "teens only", forgetting about the "adult" public. There's really no other explanation why the story became so shallow and the characters so one dimensional.
Back to this episode - I was hoping that it would finally get the season back on its feet, given it's higher ratings. And yes - there was a surprising plot twist and the events in this episode were overall less predictable. However, at the same time even that "big reveal" felt really rushed. There was no feeling of discovery - the show runners clearly didn't trust the audience enough to spend the time on building the reveal.
All in all - as many viewers already wrote, it's a pity that the season turned out this way.. However even if it does get renewed, there's no guarantee we won't see another "season 2" in terms of the final result.
