Sex & Nudity

  • Brian expects to be psychoanalysed at a rehab clinic, and told that he wants to sleep with his grandmother.
  • Gerry poses as a sex addict and immediately looks down the cleavage of his therapist on arrival at the rehab clinic. There is a lot of sexual innuendo and imagery in relation to this addiction.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Alcoholism is the backdrop to this episode. Most of the action takes place in an addiction recovery clinic. There is much talk about addiction (alcohol/drug/gambling/sex/eating disorders), treatment and recovery. Several of the characters are alcoholic.
  • UCOS staff (except Brian) drink alcohol with meals and after work, in a responsible manner and volume.
  • Gerry smokes cigarettes whenever he is outdoors, and steps outdoors from time to time to light up.
  • Gerry smuggles beer and cigarettes into the rehab clinic.

  • There is discussion about suicide. This can be confronting, especially by those affected indirectly.
