If you have had enough of commercial movies that are frequently on in cinemas, if you want to see something original and something that carries deeper meaning, then "The Clown's Lament" is exactly for you.
In my opinion, Clown' s Lament is absolutely amazing. When I saw this movie during the Kan Film Festival in Poland, I immediately thought that it was different from others. When I left the cinema I couldn't stop thinking about the story which I had seen. I am thinking about it even now. In the film you can see different, strange complications of the main character and his behavior can be surprising. The film is black and white. To my mind, it suits better for this story than color. I have to mention that both photos and editing are very good. We can see only one actor- Aaron Scully. Not only did he play the clown, but he also wrote the script.
This movie shows that a good actor doesn't need other actors to make an interesting performance. What is more, we should appreciate well recounted story in such a short film. I think that is not easy to move viewers when the action is short and the audience cannot get to know characters properly. However, this film has made it. It moved me deeply and maybe it is one of the reasons why I recommend this movie for a wider audience.
