Louis (Bernard Campan) runs a large funeral parlor in Lausanne. He manages his employees prudently and efficiently, talking compassionately yet pragmatically to the relatives. One day, he hits the bicycle delivery man Igor (Alexandre Jollien) on a country road. Worried about the man, who suffers from cerebral palsy, he drives him to hospital. Igor is deeply impressed by Louis' profession and visits him at the funeral parlor shortly afterwards. When Louis personally drives the body of an elderly lady from Lausanne to Montpellier, Igor hides in the hearse. Louis suddenly has an uninvited guest. However, he soon proves to be an eloquent chap who can quote Plato off the cuff and loves to do so. What's more, Igor consistently holds up a mirror to Louis and their chance acquaintance soon turns into a very special friendship.
