- Same as God of War (2018), it's fairly violent and bloody, though much more so than its predecessor. Kratos can dismember, behead and eviscerate his enemies. Combat scenarios are relatively violent, but still cartoonish. Teenagers, and mature pre-teens should have no issue playing this.
- Kratos and Atreus fight and kill a varge variety of enemies, some of them are human but the vast majority are fantasy creatures and monsters. Enemies are decapitated, stabbed, dismembered, stomped and ripped apart, with visible splashes of blood appearing. Cutscenes depict a character getting brutally choked to death, a character losing his arm and a character getting stabbed in the chest.
Profanity

- Kratos does not swear, but nearly every other character does. You'll hear the Fuck, Shit is also relatively frequent. In at least one scene Atreus swears multiple times in quick succession. Most swear words appear at least once or twice but Fuck and Shit are the most used.

- When in asgard, when returning to atreus' quarters, you can choose to eavesdrop on thor and sif arguing. At the end of dialogue you can hear moans from their room. Nothing excessive.
Violence & Gore
- The death of Heimdall is very disturbing, as Kratos slams his head into the floor 3 times, and then chokes him to death.
Profanity
- After Odin stabs Brok, Sindri becomes Godkiller Sindri and tells Atreus to "get the fuck out of my sight," and leaves them.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
- In two scenes you see Thor drinking alcohol. In one scene, after getting very drunk, he starts a huge bar fight. After the fight ends, you see Thor drink more alcohol. He ends up drinking so much that he collapses on the ground.
- Many scenes contain Freyr drunk.
- In a part of a mission, you fight alongside Thrúd and Thor in a bar. Thor is drunk, along with most of the enemies.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- When Kratos fights and defeats Heimdall, he pins heimdall to a wall by impaling his spear in heimdall's arm. He then uses the magic in his spear to violently blast of heimdall's arm, and heimdall screams in agony. After defeating heimdall once again, Kratos pins him to the ground, smashes his head against the ground multiple times, resulting in a blood splash, then he chokes heimdall to death.
- Near the end of the game, after Thor refuses Odin's order to kill Kratos, Odin thrusts his spear through Thor's neck, killing him. This scene is disturbing.
- Odin kills brok and causes sindri to break down for the rest of the game. You can attend his funeral after the main game. Very sad and emotional
- The overall tone of the game is very somber and the ending is very bittersweet.
